Not quite! You forgot that GHLS30 only applies to the 280z 2+2 The 260z's were referred to by the factory as RS30 or RLS30 I believe at least in Australia anyway. I don't believe there was such a vin as PRS30 i think it may have been a typo. They were PS30. Unless that indicates the difference between the 432 and 432r I have forgotten if they use a different prefix or not or wheather it was a factory reference. Also the 240zg were known by the factory as HS30-H but it never appeared in the prefix just refrenced this way. What beats me is why Nissan said we will use the H prefix that they used on the 240z for the 280z Why bother? It would have been better probably not really important but better to have H mean 240z , R mean 260z, and maybe Q mean 280z for example. Ah well.

  3. Yeah i was thinking of Datsun Freeway. Didn't have it in my links strange cause I was sure I book marked it ohwell. :classic:
  4. Try HS30-H he might be able to help you out with some contacts in Japan. We had a link to a site once that had all parts and sports option parts for sale but I can't seem to find it.
  5. Well inbetween is always hard. I think I was lucky to find a good example and at the time it was a great car it still is but I notice it's imperfections. I'm a perfection artist i have to have things just so, and it will be the death of me I'll probably strip it to bare metal and go the whole hog but I started with a minimal rust example which is really good. Sure i paid more than I did with the rustier ones but it will save me more in the end. It's also good this way because while im still fairly young I might have an accident or scratch the paint or dent it so i don't mind the paint isn't perfect or the rest of the car isn't because I can always fix it. If it was like a new car to begin with I'd hit myself over putting small marks in the paint etc.. I understand your pain when it comes to modifying but look at it this way you can spend all your time making it original and never drive it but notice that in our gallery's the cars that often get the most attention are the well modified ones with nice wheels. Often non original paint and groovy interiors. i think you won't harm any value modding the car even if you bought a minter as long as you do as i do which is make sure everything you do u can undo cause if your like me then your an indecisive prick who is never sure when he makes changes . Good luck.

I don't have any myself but in Australia we had plenty of 4cylinder and 6 cylinder L20's. Maybe one of the Aussie members will be able to help. I plan on doing the same set up.:classic:

Yep the 20b was in the Mazda Cosmo kinda looks like a Nissan Silvia S13. They are pretty heavy but and were more luxury than a performance car. A rotor in a Z isn't my cup of tea there just a bit lacking when it comes to torque and one of the best things about the L motor is how much torque it produces. It would make the car considerably lighter though. The early Rotors had trouble with their apex seals from what I've read that's why you see so many blowing smoke. The absolute beauty is the design. They are so simple compared with even a Lmotor no valves. No pistons. Just a simple rotor which is the shape of a triangle and ports. By making the ports bigger you can make the motor much more powerfull. However because of their design they hard to to make high compression but that's why there so good turbo . www.howthingswork.com I have done alot of reading about them. I would like to get into them one day but I just like the Z too much. :cheeky:

That's not entirely true the 260z had thricker and bigger chassis rails. The doors were reinforced with more steel making the cars slightly heavier. I admit it's not a huge difference but it is some. It is also a known fact that the early 1970 mdl 240z AUS spec ones anyway are most sort after for racing and rally because they are the lightest of the bunch. Also mistakenly known as the 1969 mdl's in Australia. Which there were none of.

All I know is what datsunfreak said it was an engine head used on a 80-83 passenger cars. It was a twin cam head with small ports. I don't know if Napz is a company or what.
  15. Can anyone post pics of their Gnose kits. I have been wanting to get one but won't settle for any copies unless they are extremely close to original. I am wondering how the MSA one looks and how close to original it is. Of course I'm still not 100% sure on if I want a Gnose just playing with the idea .:classic:

I've actually considered all rotors I like the r100 the rx3 and rx4 the seven is ok but I prefer a Z the beauty of a rotor engine though is how simple they look. I would like to get into them one day. Most likely an Rx4 but the 3 is lighter so I dunno. :classic:

  22. What everyone else said except a couple of things to add. Firstly you said you have a 73 right? in the states they are flat tops at this stage correct? If so then you want an earlier set 69-72 carbs. www.ztherapy.com hope that link works good explanation. Tripples are even better and webbers seem to have the biggest bragging right. However they work best on a larger camshaft profile and porting, valve work etc.. THey are not worth while without the internal engine work. You can get a Z going 12.8 down the 1/4 with SU's but they will require some work. Boaring out the throats larger needles and seats and you will probably wanna do some porting to the intake manifold also. My opinion don't even consider anything that isn't sidedraft on a straight 6.:classic: PS: 1 other thing F.I is the best especially a multiple throttle body set up. The ZX injection system will probably loose you power over the SU's. But it will be a better DD.

You make it sound like a video game. If it was done just tops it all off. IF I had a 24 cylinder mustang airplane engine in my Z that was supercharged it would do the same thing. If it was done . Seriously I don't know what your getting at but you'll find at this site we don't tolerate comments like this!
