L24E cylinder head
No idea on the 05 head. The P90 definately has a stamp saying P90 I have one in the garage . N42's on an L20? seems a bit odd are you sure they weren't placed there later?

Why Nissan Fairlady Z
HSG130 would indicate a RHD 280zx most likely of japanese Australian or NZ origin.

Ok Looking 260Z
Completely agree with you, I had a 260z that im sure had only the basics done to keep it running. I replaced the struts in it for the first time in 25 years of it's life they were the oil filled struts yikes. I'll keep working on him but that's if he wants a Z in the end of it all he may save the money and want something newer as you know an old Z isn't for everyone.

Ok Looking 260Z
Thanks for that it looks a good car but i don't think he will be spending that much on a Z. I know if i buy a Z in future i'll be spending a decent amount of money. That's if I get a second Z ;-) He originally wanted a 2+2 for the extra seats so he can drive his younger brothers to skool I'm trying to convince him to get a 2 seater so you could say im half way there now getting him to spend a bit more money on it is the next stage .

Fairlady Zon E-bay
Yeah i think it was something like 70 - 73 or maybe even later for the ZG model run like 71-73 i think the latter. So no 2+2 Gnose model ever was released there was a prototype at the tokyo show in 74 with the intro of the 2+2. I kinda like the car but I don't think i'll go for a 2+2 again unless it's a bit of fun for me and the boys 2+2 with an RB26 . I too was waiting for Alan to chime in and make a few corrections. Still i wouldn't mind grabbing that Gnose off it

found two 280z's...
Having bought my first 240z at 17 i realise that in alot of ways it would have been a good idea to wait until i was older to buy this kind of car. The main problem is when your young generally you have small pockets and can't fund something of this kind. $500 now could be $5000 in 3 years. Having said all of that buying a car at a young age and fixing it up with dad is a great way to hang out with dad and gain some knowledge about cars. I've learnt so much when i started I didn't know anything really I didn't want my step father to take the dizzy cap off cause he might not put it back properly. how things have changed in just 4 years. If your dedicated and you love the car by all means do it I look back now and don't really regret anything except buying the 2+2 hehe. If you like the 280z it might not be the best idea to get a $500 beater. Keep earning money doing summer jobs put it aside and by the time you can have your licence you'll have enough for a great 280z that won't be rusting out everywhere. As for women not caring what you drive yes and no if it's clean reliable and doesn't take much $$$ it's a good idea for a daily car. If you can have a project that doesn't require to be on the road all the time even better if i hate anything it's driving my 240z daily hence y it's been in the garage more time than on the road last 4 months . As for 280z values well I think the best thing to do is get it tested by a professional mechanic who will give you a good opinion and advice and take it from there. Pay more for anything that won't require alot of work.:cheeky:

ic install gone bad part 3
Well yes you may be right but at least you won't be the one having to correct the poor install at a later date. I'm not always fond of the work other have done on my car so I've always done most it myself. I never do body work and it seems to be about the only I have ever had to complain about. I need to get my women fired up next time and do the negotiations . I'm the type who will usually put up with poor work and never return. I'm glad you stood your ground and made them correct the problem, my problem is once someone does't do it properly I just don't want them to touch it again.

GTR C210?
To my knowledge no that was the R30 this one in turbo form had the L20ET with pee shooter ports. It was definately an L series engine.

Kats is this yours?
I remember reading about this car before you had purchased it and when i went through my archives of Z pics I saw this and it clicked that it could be yours

Simons Seats
I'm glad you like it I really enjoy looking at it. What i love the most is the transmission tunnel diamond vinyl stiched pattern. Infact I like the whole thing but I'm not sure if I'll keep my seats a bit more subtle in my 240z when I install race seats or i might rejuv the original ones.

Ok Looking 260Z
yeah i agree it's not a flawless looknig car infact I almost expect to show up provided i do go and find what will be another disappointment. I'm well trained in the Datsun game but so it's pretty hard to hide anything on a Z if you ask me but hey nobody's perfect at the same time.:tapemouth

Ahh, here at last!

Ahh, here at last!
280zx Fever am I to understand u have a 2 seater S130? That's a rarity in Australia I remember you were after a shell I'd consider fixing up the 2 seater if u were thinking of replacing it with a 2+2 and swapping mechanicals don't. Keep the 2 seater.:classic:
