Finally My 240z Video.
Your prayers will be answered . not sure about 7000rpm do you think my car would mind now that it has a blown head gasket? What pisses me off most is my current 240z I baby never go past 6000 at the most usually 5,500rpm and my old 260z that had the P90 L28 I used to give a hiding and no headgasket. Maybe I should drive my car how it was meant to be driven hard? dunno that's life. But i have plenty more video footage of my Z as well as a friends I plan on converting and doing some stuff with in Adobe Premiere. Believe it or not that file you saw was originally 14mb raw I converted to DIVX and managed to get it around 2mb. I also have footage of my old 2+2 when i was a bit younger a bit more immature and less caring of my car. I had it in a dirt car park and did lots of circles kicking up dust etc.. I was planning to add ACDC Thunderstruck like the Holden adds what ya think? :classic:

Best sounding 240/280 exhaust
Thanks Mick . I met a guy here in Melbourne named Costa or Kosta not sure how he spells it but his 240z has a pretty mean sound to it also.:classic:

Turn signals again!
How big or your steering wheel is it the original wheel or a smaller sports one? If you have gone with a smaller wheel you may find it is the source of your problem and you will need a custom set up to compensate for the smaller wheel. Sorry don't know exact name of the parts you'd need to change.

Got one at last!
Only thing that stood out to me was the bonnet check your gallery for the comment. I only bring this up because I know Bonnets are difficult to find in good condition. The good news is you can still get them new apparently at a price around $600 though. I think I'll end up forking out $600 for a good non vented bonnet.

front
It might be just the photo or me but it looks like the bonnet has had a knock before and being hard to repair it shows up a bit, I know because my 240z's bonnet was not spot on then I installed the fluted one and realised how much straighter it was shame about the vents but I prefer non vented . Well the Z car vents anyway. Have you got any side angles of the bonnet?

The truth about headers.....
If you want your car to go faster I would start with modifying the engine head and cam don't bother spending the money on extractors or exhaust systems. What you also need to understand is that while it might flow a bit better you'll on get 10HP at most with a stock engine. If you can notice a 10HP increase in power your a better man than I. Look into upping the compression , port and polising, increasing capacity etc... Sometimes the wrong amount of backpressure can hard your engine more than help it. You could burn valves etc... You have an L28E but even with the mods your computer may not even be able to compensate for it and therefore it won't get you very far. If you want a serious kick install a turbo.

Help?
Point taken by four years I mean that I had been looking actively at Z's advertised and nothing had come close to my current 240z. The 260z I was never happy with as it was a 2+2 and had always wanted a 2 seater 240z that's the main reason I don't want him to buy a substitute the good side is he'll get good experience working on it and sorting out common problems. if you would like to see the video give me your email and I'll send it no problem, I was trying to upload to the member gallery but no luck there.

Help?
As a side note it may interest you to know it took me 4 years of searching to find my 240z. It's still by no means perfect but that will change . Keep looking your Z is out there.

Turbo on a carberated engine?
BTW the L28ET ran a 7:1 compression ratio very safe if you ask me most turbo cars run 8:1 these days. Most probably this was because of the lack of intercooler on the 280zx. Let's not forget the 280zx Turbo was an american market car and you all know how hot places like Texas get. Ping Ping Ping from the traffic lights on a hot day .

Turbo on a carberated engine?
Yes this is for lower compression. Flat top carbs are usually good for higher compression engines and a more powerfull stroke, but are not great for emission and therefore not used on cars for that reason unless it's racing . I've seen a number of carbed Z's Marc's(mymadz's) was pretty cool when he took me for a drive. You would usually only use one carbie though not the dual ones. Back in the 70's you could get kits for the Z there not so popular these days however.

you just wanna see a turbo in their . I didn't go all out on acceleration anyway just to 4000 or so can't remember but it was just a bit of a fang past the camera . If it was turbo I'd have to spool her up .
