Nice they suit the Z interior well. Good Work!
  2. Yeah pretty much what he said!
  3. My girlfriend is quite tolerant of my obsession really, she can even tell the difference between a 240z and 260z most people can't. She also knows about the 240zg but I think she's confused by the 432 and 432R models. I took her to our Zcar nationals in 2005 and she took alot of photos of Datsun's and the like. I'd like to get her to be more confident behind the wheel and get her to drive a Z. I think then she'll understand the obsession more . Thanks for the kind comments.
  4. Couldn't agree more, my g/f often likes to spend alot of time with me. The downside is it gets me down when I am not fixing the Z up like I have been trying to for the past few years. I'm trying to balance the g/f and car now. But I couldn't agree more with what you said.

  9. It's a 'Nissan Compo' steering wheel and was a factory optional item to my understanding and not restricted to the ZG. I've seen this wheel on C10's and C110's alike.:cheeky:
  10. All 240z's in Australia didn't have the flapper part to the airbox. This was an American market item.
  11. I've seen a couple of Honda S600's here in Australia. Both have been in need of some TLC, I do have a couple of photos somewhere of some fine examples. My friends mum used to drive a S600 coupe in the 60's, I've seen an old video of her driving it, a nice looking car indeed.

that's great news I'm going to remove mine soon and replace the rear bearings. I'm considering upgrading the rear brakes to disc at the same time, however still deciding (after reading a recent thread).

I put a set of Recaro's in my Z, yes they are expensive but they are very comfortable fitting them wasn't too hard and if you look around you can get seat rails designed for them in Japan. I'd probably upgrade to Mazda MX5 seats since they are very similar in design and are almost a bolt in solution from what I have read and heard. I'm sure you can get a nice looking set cheap too!

Hi Arne, thank you for sharing your knowledge. For me I've had constant problems with my drums I'll list them here. - First undersized drums from too much machining (obviously not the drums fault). - Found a replacement set which are within' tolerances however there are minor cracks near the mounting holes (wheel threads) probably from overheating. - Constantly having to adjust either they are too tight and rubbing or they are too loose and not effective as a handbrake. - Left side is too tight and makes noises when braking My options are: - Replace everything including:- Drums New shoes Wheel cylinders Brake lines (why not while I'm at it) Handbrake cable (probably stretched) or Convert to a rear disc kit like that available at Arizona Zcar By the time I've done the above or second option the cost is probably almost the same. Or I can use a R31 Skyline caliper and braket which is practically a bolt on solution and relatively a cheap pickup from a local wreckers (In Australia). Replacement discs are far less expensive than drums are and brake pads probably more readily available. I know drums can work really well, but when the system is aged and many items needs replacement it can be a costly endevour. If I am to spend that amount of money for me it makes more sense to upgrade. What is the opinion of others?

I'm considering the same thing. I want to keep drums for originality sake but the maintenaince issues and cost of keeping them is almost identical to the cost of upgrading so to me it's not really worth while. I'd like to go with the AZC brakes also. Drums require constant adjustment and CAN work really well but for the sake of simplicity and looks to me the drums will go on a shelf. Luckily they can easily be changed back later for originality sake.
  16. Hey Alfa not even a replica HS30-H? :classic:

Some pretty wild looking Zeds. Certainly an interesting Era in datsun racing history. I bet they were a real beast to drive back in the day. Thanks for sharing!
  18. Damn I saw this but kept it to myself. I'm still trying to work out how I can get the money together! All the aftermarket ones I've seen, have been pretty average.
