You guys are all going down the wrong path. I've had this problem with these distributors before it's arching out. If you remove the distributor inspect the way the shaft rotates around. There are several points around the edge that the centre of the shaft passes but should NOT touch. Often this comes out of adjustment and can touch causing the distributor to arch out. This is what causes the slight miss at idle. The module is either working or not(no in between). If that is not the cause I'd look at distributor cap, leads, plugs then coil although I doubt it would be the coil. Was the distributor from a junkyard?

Likewise I'm glad I got to see the Skyline

When you see one in person it's completely different I was suprised at just how cool they are in person when i saw Alfa's last week. :classic:

Your right on all counts Ken they are terrific and I love the support. It makes the car easier to control and definately make for a less tiring drive. I didn't have too much problem with the brackets but I might redo the passenger side at a later stage since my measurements are a little tight. I followed your example from the photos but obviously did a few things different. Thanks for all the help

I think they were off another model car like Skyline from memory I'll see if I can dig it up at some stage but in all honesty the best tail lights on a Z are the stock ones from what I've seen. There was a nice blue Z with skyline style tail lights that I didn't mind though. The fact that you can get these repo ones is great since mine have a few cracks and finding new ones is impossible especially in Australia where we had the amber style "EURO" style ones .

Hi mate, I used the standard rails and just made a bracket so that the seat could adapt to the standard rails. Originally I was going to modify the rails that came with the seat but it was too much mucking around. If you looked at Ken's gallery you will see what he did, I did something very similar. I didn't take photos though was in a bit of a hurry to get it done .

I've seen it on a Z in Japan it looks crap . But hey that's just my opinion.

Yeah I do have a fair bit of head room, not sure with a helmet yet haven't got one . I used the standard rails which i can make sit lower by removing the plastic spacers on the bottom. I must say as much as I loved the original seats look these are definately far superior in comfort and much more practical. This is possibly one of the best things I've done so far and I'd definately recommend it. I would like to have a half cage or rear strut bar with some form of ability to attach some harnesses. Definately worth the money I spent and couldn't be happier

Is that for a set of 4? I want to get new lenses for my car but have found new tail lights to be extreme especially for the "EURO" Aussie style amber bottom's. Mine have hairline cracks that annoy me . Thanks 26th for the link won't help me but at least I know the process now might find someone local :cheeky:

Thanks Ken . I plan on fixing up the rest of the interior to match. It's an area I've neglected for a while but now that I have nice seats I want everything nice. I am getting some new carpets made up .
  11. Hi Geoff, unfortunately I'm not sure on their spec or height. I know that I could get them out without a spring compressor and there was no gap at the upper perch. I don't know what poundage they are since the PO fitted them a few years back. I just went with them because I didn't want to buy new springs since I plan on eventually using Coil Overs. I can tell you though it's a very firm ride and I feel every bump that's for sure. Even with the Tokico's set on 2 out of the 5.

I have installed my Recaro's finally
  14. I agree I wouldn't cut the old ones if anything it's good if they are slightly longer, less risk of bottoming out. I noticed my King Springs were not as long as the Tokico progressive rate springs from photos others have posted. I don't think I could even get mine close to bottoming out the suspension is so firm. I installed the Tokico 5 way Illuminas FWIW. If you cut them then they are more likely to break or split IMHO. I should also add that I installed bump stops that were intergrated into the protective boots. They were made by KYB. I should also point out that it will be a great present for you , you honestly won't know yourself after installing new struts.

240sx is a 180sx here don't know if it's possible to get those here easily, I think the XF throttle body is your best bet.
  16. They are Watanabe's probably 16" Type R's
  17. It's to do with the images as stated above. If an image is attached to a thread it will cause it to be thrown out of proportion. Using a DIV to contain it and not allow it to oversize is one solution or Mike could set the images in a thread to be thumbnail size or a clickable link. Yes it's annoying but there's not really an easier way around it. I had a similar problem on my site with www.viczcar.com
  18. Hi Stu are you in Australia? I think I heard about that motor being up for sale at some point.
  19. Thanks Alfa too bad I looked it up manually before scrolling. I don't think the Grey/Gray one is worth the asking price by a long shot.
  20. I'm very interested in the ZG gear if you decide to part anything out. I'm sorry to hear your going this way, I was once a student and understand how you feel but there will be a time when your working and money that you used to struggle to put together is right there for you. Try to hold out and not sell it, personally I'd rather see you sell the other cars to keep the Zed. best of luck!

  23. Hey mate, Gavin Strongman's car looks great with or without the rear wing. He's working on a front wing which will probably make it look more in proportion. I'm not sure who owns the Silver 240k but I took quite a few shots of it cause I knew you'd like it . It was hard to get a clear shot though cause at the time it was being judged and I got there late in the day after our viczcar BBQ. There was another 240k there which was a bit rougher but I got a few pics. I managed to get a few shots of the blue 240z and one was as he was leaving. It's a great Z I think the owner is Wayne? Only met him once didn't get to say hi today. I wished I had got more photos of each car showing lots more detail but it was hard since it was the end of the day for most and they were leaving. I didn't get to put mine on display . The 240k had an L28 with tripples on it . Yes the owner did stick a few GTR badges on it but he was missing some details like flares front grille and rear lights but maybe it's a work in progress the rest of the car was fairly neat that's for sure. I really liked the little 1000 Datsun's they were great . All in all not a bad day got to catch up with a few Z owners
  24. Hi guys, Attended the NDSOC annual concourse today. I got there a bit later so I missed some really nice cars but I tried to capture as many Nissan/Datsun's as possible. Nice and sunny day and pleny of Datsun's I hope you enjoy the pictures. http://www.viczcar.com/v-web/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=39 I'll upload them here later if Mike wants. :rambo:
