240z dust cap problems
That's strange never had that problem, Only thing I can think of is you have too much grease in there and when you try putting the cap on there is air pressure trapped behind it. There are guys selling these caps on ebay all the time, nice and new

HS30-00379 on ebay.au for $1
Yes I do find it funny, I've had people show me those values before to which I say it's ridiculous and don't worry they are based on old figures. In all honesty those values are not relevant maybe only to a dealer who is buying a 2+2 .

HS30-00379 on ebay.au for $1
Yeah exactly what I thought. Considering it's just a shell . I'd say hang on to those 240z's there getting more and more expensive everyday.

Rear Disc Brake Conversion
Hi Mr Datto, I have been considering this conversion myself. So the Maxima brake upgrade is the same as the 280zx? I was thinking of buying the brackets off ebay but your saying Nissan Australia can get them for just about the same price? So which stub axle do I need to pull? How do I pull it? I've recently replaced my struts on my Z and had the rear drums pretty much apart I could see a bolt on the back of the drums which looked like where the stub axle was. What stub axle do I need? I hear the 260z ones are stronger and a good upgrade. How do you find the rear calipers? Personally I hate drums too hard to adjust all the time and I think they are still not right.

The best looking 240z period...
I prefer Ron's Z and Dave (Dreco's) 240z's myself. However my favourite Z is the White ZG from Japan. San Sato? I think the owners name is. He has the best looking Z IMHO for a customised Z. I also really like Tod Kaneko's 240z for a non-flared Z. Both sport the L28 which to me is a big thumbs up. In terms of race car replica's they are always a favourite of mine and again Ron great car I envy you. There are plenty of nicer Zeds than this one although it is still a nice looking car.

why original is best...
yeah don't even go there with that . I'm with Alfa I'll take the non-crap one  . You might scoff at the price of that Zed but looking at the car it's loaded with all the correct OEM parts. If you add up the price of all those OEM bits brand new like hose clamp clips, hoses, etc etc... I'm sure $35k wouldn't be hard. He might be jumping the gun a bit on value , but I'd say in a few more years it won't be so far fetched.

My 260z is hurt
I agree with MikeW sounds like hot spots on the flywheel. It will need machining to fix but I wouldn't worry about it till your clutch is due for replacement unless it's really painfull.

L14 Rods what are they worth?
Ahh thanks for the refresher. You are right about $600+ for L14 rods. I am getting custom pistons FWIW so using the L14 rods and LD28 crank shouldn't be a problem. I should be seeing my engine builder/adviser/assistant tonight so I'll see what he has to say.

L14 Rods what are they worth?
Ok I've found some L14 rods but I've been quoted what I think is a little bit high in the price range. I don't mind paying it if they work out to be really good for my stroker but the L20 rods are probably the next best thing and I can probably get a set of those for next to nothing compared with the L14's. So what would you expect to pay for these rods, keep in mind I'm from Aussie Land .

240 parts for sale\trade
If it's not too much hassle I would appreciate it, I'd be interested in them if they arn't ripped and are generally in good condition. I'd prefer a whole set but if the price is right and you don't mind shipping to Australia .
