ZX ignition/Stock Coil - Ballast = Dead Coil?
Interesting problem but I'm also interested in the distributor you say you have. If you could provide pictures of it that would be really good but with regard to your problem. When the tacho bounces does the engine also miss? Also the ballast resistor can be run with the distributor and you can just bridge the resistor see if that helps. That's how my Z is wired up. Not sure about the coil being the problem but it's worth a shot i guess. What's the condition of the rotor button and distributor cap? My tach started to bounce and the car had a slight miss due to the distributor itself. If you look inside the distributor you should see an inner ring just below the rotor button and an outer ring also. These rings have points on them that pass by each other as the distributor spins. If these points at all touch they cause the distributor to arch out and result in a miss. Hard to explain pictures would help.

C10 Wallpaper Again
haha yeah Jim I did it myself. I originally was going to do a S30 C10 wallpaper but the S30 pic I was using just wasn't working for me. I wrote JDM spec I guess because of the original plans to incorporate both legends. I'm not sure if it was just a plain jane KGC10 or a KPCG10 either way she looks awesome i thought. It was really just something I whipped up in my spare time when I felt like being creative I should do a Z one too but we'll see.

Where to get a light flywheel?
Is that a viscous LSD? It's also the finned cover so i think you need to do some modifications to fit it to a Z. Probably work out cheaper to buy a R31 GTS LSD and install that instead.

Change of Wheels
Sorry mate she's a photoshop job. The wheels are Workmeister SR1 or SR2 or professors or something like that I tried to find them on the works wheels website recently but i think they are an older design now.

mods to power? Whats under your hood?
This topic has been covered a few times try searching through the threads we even started one a while ago where people were posting their mods and showing their dyno sheets. However i think some of the best mods for a Z include an electronic distributor from the later ZX. You can have these mapped to suit your camshaft profile and your advance curve this makes a huge difference in the way your car accelerates. Changing your diff and gearbox gears is another effective method to get faster acceleration. If you want to go faster you really need to start doing internal work on the motor like cams and portwork. It just depends on your budget and what you want to achieve.

hermonic balancer
The best way to remove the harmonic balancer bolt is to put the flywheel bolts into the rear of the crank and use something to jam it from moving such as a long steel pipe or spanner etc.. The rear main seal in my Z was bad and causing oil to leak onto the clutch assembly and flywheel not good so I'd replace it as to not do it would be false economy at $10 or whatever they are. The head gasket is up to you. I've never had a blown head gasket in my Z but you never know.

If there is a better looking Zcar, please show me.
It's actually also been changed to a leaf spring non-independant rear end also which was what ruined it for me. The overall effect is not bad but as you say no vote from me. :cheeky:

Old rally racing Videos
It redirected me to some other site it was all in a foreign language so I couldn't really work it out. I have found that sometimes www.ebaumsworld.com under the forums section then under videos section there is a car subsection that sometimes has some good car videos there too . :cheeky:

blashphemy never....... Besides Nissan were doing the Alan Key flares before Holden . I'm still not 100% sure I'm going to do it to my Z yet but I certainly do have a soft spot for the flare kit . There is nothing like the original lines of the Z with clean paint and shiny rims I guess I just don't like the whole make my Z a 911 look-a-like style.

There are alot better looking Z cars than that. I personally think it's pretty average myself. Not trying to be a plick but I've seen some much nicer examples and you did say show me better. So to start with look in HS30-H 's gallery http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=2116 Then take a look in my gallery http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=1316

Old rally racing Videos
http://www.putfile.com/ allows you to upload 10mb worth of video. There might be other file hosting services out there that support more. We could possibly host it on VicZcar.com but it wouldn't be something we'd keep on forever since it's not really early Z related.
