- VIDEO - Some quick footage of my 280Z(t) around the track.... ehh
Good stuff good to see your getting out on the track I'd love to. I missed out on the Nationals here in Australia basically because I was too broke I had no job at the time. So yeah I'm hanging out to get my car ready for some track time . Good work getting your turbo set up going btw

Expressions of interest
C'mon post them up. Also you should post some pics of your car with the Wat's and Flares and GTR gear on it. I don't know why you haven't yet.

Running real rich? wtf?
Yes also sounds like a vacuum leak. You could also have leaky injectors get them pressure tested. Best way to check for a rich condition is your spark plugs pull them out and if there thick black coated you know it's running too rich.

Hmm i've seen this twice now. A gauge with both KP/H and MP/H is this unique to the 280z's? I've never seen this gauge in Australia? Maybe the Japanese were hoping you american's would come to your senses and switch from imperial to metric . Just kidding with ya.

Australian altenator options
Just having a quick think are you sure it's your alternator? Check your Voltage Regulator and check your alternator belt mine had streched and caused my car to almost stall one night under load from having the heater/stereo/headlights all on at the same time and being stuck in traffic for a good 10mins.

Australian altenator options
Hi Jon had a similar problem when i owned a 2+2 the electric fan blew 3 of alternators mind you they were junk yard alternators anyway. This is one of the reasons i've stuck with the clutch fan for now. In terms of alternators I bought an internally regulating ZX unit quite some time back. Apparently they are 70amp over the standard 60amp. I believe this would be very similar to whatever the Maxima in the states used since they both were L6's and released around the late 70's. I am not currently using the ZX alternator in my 240z since the current one is doing fine. I guess I'm just replying to say that the ZX alternator might be an option. It didn't help with my problem on my 2+2 with the fan i had FWIW. Sorry can't be of more use.

240z Suspension in Oz
Hi guys and Ozlime went through the same thing recently myself. I would definately recommend going through the US when it comes to suppliers. I think that Energy Suspension kit you listed from Ebay is an excellent value for money kit. Had it not been for the fact I've already probably spent double that figure on bushes for my Z alone buying them in OZ i'd probably have got those. I'm serious I've spent a good $60 odd on the front control arm bushes , a good $30 odd for the steering rack a good $30 odd again for the front sway bar bushes. I bought a set for the rear too at $80 so you can see it adds up. The previous owner had done the caster bushes previously and they seem to be holding up still. Those prices are quotes from poor memory i could have even paid more. Get that kit off Ebay !!!!!! I also looked at shockers here in Australia Koni reds for all 4 $1200. Koni yellows? don't ask I didn't. Tokico 5 way adjustables from the states? Cheaper even with shipping. The guy on Ebay though was useless i emailed him at least 3 times with no luck on confirming he'd send them to Australia. Some of his adds do say will ship worldwide. http://www.xshocks.com/tokicoill.htm this is another supplier i was given to try for Tokico's. I actually got mine second hand off a guy who bought them from the states about a year ago. He said they were from a club car that hadn't seen too much driving and he was actually selling his Z so he was parting off the good bits to make back some money i guess. At $300 to my door i was happy with that. I'm yet to install them but I finished my exams yesterday and hope to get on with putting them in shortly. See what deals you can find in Aus but I seriously think you'd be hard pressed finding better!

Zs in video games
Forza Motorsport as a 240zg but has been called a 240zx :S it drives okay but you are limited on upgrades dunno why they do that. However you have the option to slot in an RB26 or SR20 which is a not bad idea. Haven't played it in a while now to finish all the available upgrades but the handling is pretty yuk. Other than that the game is extremely well made.

Glass Cowl Bonnets (hoods for the yanks)
I know a guy who was looking to make a mould to produce CF bonnets in Australia but they are not cheap to produce. You can get ones with a Fibreglass centre and CF outer skin for probably ~$1000 or if you want the top of the range CF Bonnet made by the same guy who does alot of stuff for the V8 supercars then it could cost up to ~$1500 if this isn't what your after then that's cool but if it is I can probably get you in touch with a guy who can help you out.

Low Oil Pressure
Other possibility is the actual guage has gone faulty. As Sblake said though lots of people have said they read inaccurately however I've found them to always be quite correct.

Yes it's sad to see them go but I was always curious how they were staying in business apparently my curiosity was for a reason.
