240Z racing and street videos
As for the 260zt video i cringed when i saw that. The tunnel does look wet maybe it had rained earlier and the tunnel was still damp. Looks like a good case of understeer into the wall and someone obviously smacked the back of the car too. They look like Panasport rims too. The turbo set up was really nice what a shame the car got so bent. I'd probably be looking for a new shell after that.

240Z racing and street videos
Cheers mate I'm glad you enjoyed it. I honestly spent maybe 30mins editing it on my PC the soundtrack just happened to work. If you come to Australia your more than welcome to join our club . The next video is actually a whole lot better it's just getting a copy and capturing it on my PC it's a friend of mine's brothers video tape so I've gotta get it off him. That was actually a really bad showing for one of our cruise days only 4 cars made it. The weather was pretty poor so probably the main reason. The last cruise we had was awesome wish we had video footage but unfortunately we didn't have a camera on the day. Hopefully the Z Nationals will have some good footage

Video: OS Giken TC16-MA2 and a LY-240Z racing
Eric it's definately possible to get multi region DVD players although some people tried to block them from being produced it's definately possible. It's to do with the firm ware in the Unit anyway. My Xbox has been modded and allows me to watch any dvd from any region. My PC does the same thing asking about changing regions however I'm sure there are hacks around this. I would imagine a DVD player in the US is fairly cheap? they are in Australia anyway

I also have some footage at http://www.viczcar.com/Videos/2004/Meet3/meet3.wmv I have another video to compile that I have been meaning to get around to for ages now it's a much better video with more Z's and I do a little burn out too . Hopefully the Z Nationals here in Australia will have some good footage to bring back as well as pictures. I know you asked for historic film but it's very hard to find i've found well not on the internet anyway.

240Z racing and street videos
Unfortunately I've found it very hard to find old footage of Z's racing and the like. I'd love to see the BRE car in action but i've only seen a snippet from some old Z commercial. Kats has some footage recently of when the car was imported to the states that was interesting. I don't have the link to the 240z commercial here or the 260z one there are a few more 280z's then it's all 280zx and so on. If anyone has some cool footage I'd be happy to host it at VicZcar would be good for us as it would generate traffic and we'd more than likely be happy to have it there since we have plenty of space.

Showus Yuh Wheels, Aussie!!
Probably because the centre caps are really expensive . BTW i don't suppose anyone knows how much Watanabe Wheels Weigh? Is magnesium alot lighter than Aluminium I'm told it is...

Will these wheels fit
They could be right and it could depend on the state you live in.

Will these wheels fit
http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=14344 have you seen these my mate got them for $600 odd Australia off a guy who sells them on Ebay. They are to suit a HAWNNNDA but with 40mm spacers they sit perfect on a Z. He paid all up $1200 i think with tyres and spacers. I guess if you don't like the idea of the spacers the other wheels are a good option. They are 17X7 I believe.

Air Intake Air Ducting
Didn't the 280z have some form of airbox infront of the radiator anyway? I thought they had it ideally located in the 280z correct me if I'm wrong?

Will these wheels fit
hmm they look like pretend 3 piece wheels . Do you know if they are 3 piece wheels or not?

Will these wheels fit
$1600 is not a bad price it's actually pretty good. I need 16" rims for my Z to fit the Z32 Calipers. I'm gonna save for 16" Watanabe Type - R's.

Clutch Heat Soak?
I believe yes it could hinder the clutches performance but more than likely wear it out alot quicker than a normal clutch. You wouldn't want this kind of clutch on a street car basically because there is no balancing you either are engadged or not. So when you let go of the clutch that's it there's no riding it. For my Z I have a heavy duty clutch plate with high tension teeth and the actual clutch is the normal street type but it's heavy duty. It works really well and is still very light. :cheeky:

Tail Light Area Paint Ideals
Yeah i was gonna say earlier i know a guy who chromed that panel and his car is Silver looks really good but I think it only works on his car. He keeps telling me to do it but i think it would look strange on a red Z.

Yes it should thanks

Tail Light Area Paint Ideals
Mine as a gloss black and I think it looks great. I can't stand the color coated rear section much. Definately a darker color. A gloss i find gives it a little more definition or you could always go with the original gray(grey) depends on what you want more.

I am fed up...
Hey Brian, I'll agree the ZX distributor is the best option. If you do get one from a junk yard the advance plate will probably be stuffed because of a plastic ball bearing cage beneath it that breaks and lets the ball bearings go everywhere. You also need to remove the dizzy shaft and clean it up so it spins nice and freely. Anyway i wouldn't say there is a huge advantage of the other distributor set up you mentioned. The best upgrade from there is to go with no distributor and have it electronically controls by coil packs. That way you can control your engine advance at certain rpm's. Go the ZX module and probably best money wise investment is the $300 reco one.

Yeah I'm not in a huge rush since I have other expenses at the moment but I did have the money a week or so ago and would have ordered them. It's very frustrating and it would be a simple email back at least I'd know how much money to put aside. I'm willing to wait since the price is right but if I was in a hurry certainly not!

EOI watanabe 15x8.5"
They don't come in 16" and I prefer the Watanabe design pattern. I guess I'll just have to save the $$$ for what I want .
