  1. Yeah i've noticed alot of people appreciate the 240z and there is generally alot of respect for the car and it's history. I've also noticed recently alot more people are taking notice of them and spending more $$ properly restoring them .
  2. Thanks I tried typing in google to find the conversion rate but nothing came up. :cheeky:
  3. From what I've read he's had a few issues with the motor and problems with valves and pistons hitting. The P90 has huge valves to begin with and my machine shop put in some slightly larger ones. PS = HP it's just the German abbreviation so i've read. Your right it looks a little rough under 4000rpm. You can tell by the dyno chart it's up and down until about 4000rpm and it's all on then on. I'm trying to keep my motor build up streetable but wouldn't mind a bit of coughing down low
  4. Here's a revival but i revisted one of my favorite Z's sites and found the dyno results most distrubing but in a good way of course . I had already been told by Alan T that it was somewhere in the 300HP range but the Dyno has confirmed this and caused me to almost wet myself w00t . http://www5a.biglobe.ne.jp/~satotats/zhp/z20/index.htm It's in Japanese and I haven't babblefished it but i think i'll be buying as much Kameari parts as possible .
  5. if you have the money a tripple bypass radiator would be an awesome investment. However i understand 1 step at a time. At least a 280z is already setup for F.I. Good luck with it all.
  6. Hi everyone I've had a bit of a look around on the internet but at the moment there just doesn't seem to be a whole lot of retro Datsun stuff. I want to design a website on my 240z and it's restoration progress. The theme of this site is an old skool Datsun approach. I want it to have that old feel like that feeling you get when you see a Classic Muscle car parked next to a vintage fuel pump or Coca Cola sign. So i guess i would like it if people could post old advertising material. However if anyone knows what FONT Datsun was using in the 70's that would be even better. If you post pictures I can trace them using Adobe illustrator and increase their size from there. So anything you think may be appropriate would be really great. I'm also thinking of using the whole "DATSUN! We are driven" sound file when you first log on. Cheers, Gavin. :cheeky:
  7. And so they should!
  8. Yaeh it does sound tuff as nails. Love the lumpy cam noise i can't wait till mine has that sounds to it.

i think it's more the fact that we had a similar discussion a while ago comparing weber and Mikuni's. It really comes down to personal preferance and parts availability. For me I like the Mikuni's cause they are Japanese and i think suit a Z better than webers.

Yeah I agree totally. If you leave a car in a time capsule things end up drying out or going brittle like bushes etc.. It's better to have a car that is driven regularly and serviced regularly and parts replaced that come with a Nissan part number.

No I don't think it should, I am happy to buy a car that has later brakes, hoses, etc.. However if you put 280z lights in a 240z then I'd say that's incorrect. I guess it depends on tastes. I think a good guideline is to use parts that Nissan improved over the years say an electronic dizzy for example.

I found my best car in the game was my 240SX i bought originally. I also did up the RX7,RX8 and Supra. The Supra is a boat but in the game and get's outdone in the corners down the 1/4 mile but it's fast if you can call it a 1/4 mile. There are no higher packages than the Extreme lvl3's. When you complete the game you get access to the widebody's but some are really ugly. I have found that the best thing to do when modding the cars for a little extra is to change the diff ratio about 3/4 of the way up. Everything else hinders the cars performance. Once the cars are all maxed out most of them perform the same the quickest I have done the 1/4 mile is just in the 7 second bracket i think it was with the Supra.
  13. Thanks for that Alan.
  14. oh btw i like the wheels you have put on your car the American peanut style ones.
  15. Kats as everyone else said thank you that was really good to see. Brand new 240z's those journalists must have been having fun. It was also good to see some other old Datsuns and what looked like was a 510 wagon at the fuel station.
  16. I look forward to seeing the car also

Yeah Mikuni only have 50mm carbs these days but I am told they are the best for the same reasons Curtis said they stay in tune for ages. I've also been told that internally the parts are better quality than what webers use.

  21. Hey I should be there I'm gonna drive from Melbourne. I don't think I'll enter the track day I'd love to but with money restrictions I haven't been able to do half the work I would have liked to. I've booked a room and I'll pay for entry shortly gotta try get some cash together. So I definately wanna be there and I'll find the money somehow :classic: . Thanks guys now for the last few days all I can think about is an LY or TCB-24 engine head on my L28 . What i found interesting is that Yasuhiro Akamatsu's car is only what appears to be an L26 bored out to L28 spec. Imagine this set up with the 3.1ltr w00t The imagine what the twin cam 24 valve could do with two turbo chargers ok I am dreaming but Alan T did have a pic of such a set up. One could only dream but then again one should just buy an RB26

I reakon it's a top film it's a good laugh really . I love it when he's at the dads house yelling into the mega phone
  24. Hey Alfa i basically finished mine but wasn't happy with the way it looked. The paint job on the shell could have been better. However the thing that annoyed me most was the window frames should have been chrome they are not they are color coated for some reason. I would also like to buy a mini set of Watanabe's for it I don't like the original hub caps and i need to paint the centre's red.
