Hakosuka on E-Bay
I think it's fair enough the fact he took the time to write a long reply back to you suggests he's not into wasting time which we can all understand costs us money. If i was serious about buying the car I'd put down a fair bid to start with and contact him saying I'd really like to view the car before I start bidding to high up for what i think it could be worth judging by the pictures. I read through his history on E-bay and the complaints seemed to be reasonable and on his side so you can view for yourself and make up your own minds about that. I say good luck to the buyer and the seller in this case looks like a nice car. Sure this stuff is expensive to repair and get parts for but it's half the fun sometimes . As for EricB well I think you should think hard about this I know I wouldn't want to sell my Z and I don't mind you. Especially with all the goodies you've done to yours . Think about how you might feel in 2 years time ;-).

280Z Vs. 240Z Handling
That was what i was thinking Vicky! However I have not driven a 280z so therefore I can't comment. I have driven a 280zx and let me tell you "BIG Difference" in handling.

280Z Vs. 240Z Handling
Yeah the 260z is very similar to the 240z. A little bit heavier but not all that much. In Australia we didn't get the 280z so I have never driven one and couldn't say if they are alot worse off in handling or not. When it comes to early S30's the 240z is generally considered cream of the crop FWIW.

How much $$ have you spent on your Z ?
Sounds good, I'll have to take some pictures when mine get's back from being ported and polished. I can't wait to get the LD28 crank either I'll be sure to take a few happy snaps. Infact what I'm saying is I'm gonna document the entire build of my engine that's for sure

It feels great!
Sounds good I have a mechanic friend who teaches me everything and gets me trade prices on everything too it's great. We have been doing the valve stem seals for the last day or so and I've cut my hands so many times .. Next time I'll take the engine head out.

How much $$ have you spent on your Z ?
Good thread indeed. I haven't added all mine up but I'm sure I'm near the $12,000 mark between buying and the work I've done so far. The motor I'm building is probably gonna end up costing about $4500 on it's own and I won't get to touch the carbs yet or the gearbox. One day I'll add everything together and faint but I prepared myself to go to $35,000 on this car a long time ago

Bubble's Engine...
Hi I noticed your running dished pistons, you'd probably be better off with the flat tops instead while you have the motor out and almost ready. I'd considering putting flat tops in as obviously you'll get higher compression and more power and it will also help with bottom end torque. I'm assuming that the STAGE3 camshaft is a rather wild combination as you haven't really stated what specs it is. You can counter the lack of low end torque by setting the cam timing using the cam gear numbers there should be a 1,2,3 and depending how your car is set up you have those options. From the looks of everything else you've done or been doing it would be a shame to go with dished pistons if you ask me. Nice work btw looks like your doing things properly .

260Z 2 Seater
I saw his website at some stage and the process he went through with the car. All i can really say is I know why he's selling it .

260Z 2 Seater
Yep agreed Z Kid infact I was gonna say that but didn't want to wizz off the owner looks like a bit of a ordinary car. He was running huge spacers with the flash wheels he had to me that says about how much he knows about doing things right.

Poll: Should we prevent gallery downloads?
Of course it could be done. You could simply choose an option box and your image that you are uploading is protected(as much as the protection can protect). However I think the problem with that is that it would involve heavy coding and long hours of research and study. I don't think MIke really wants to do this to be honest but I'm not Mike so I better not talk on his behalf.

Steering rack/tie rod ends - Australia
last time i got them $80 a side for tie rods. They were genuine though. I think you can get them at Rare spares also but I don't think they are as good quality but that's just my opinion.

Harmonic Balancer needed in Australia
yeah i noticed Luke welcome aboard. The club isn't even officially registered yet but we will be dealing with that in a short time. Good luck with the pulley.

Harmonic Balancer needed in Australia
Hmmm I might have 1 here but it's the 3 pulley type from a ZX so you can have air conditioning, power steering and alternator but they have the extra rotational mass and I replaced mine with a 240z one when i got the lighter flywheel.
