  1. Hey Rick same thing happened to my 260z 2+2 the rears and front's were not making noise just very soft and spongy. The front left was leaking a bit of oil and apparently when i had them done the guy told me they were the original ones in there 25+ years no wonder they felt vague the new ones were great transformed the entire car. BTW why arn't you installing them yourself if mine went I'd be doing that myself instead of getting them to it again I've learnt alot about cars since then.:classic:

Are you guys happy with the new air damns you installed? I had one on a old Z of mine it looked good from the front but I like the 240z without it gives it a classic more vintage look IMHO i'm just curious because you too used to have no front bar now you do and I'd be curious to see what your opinions are after installing them? Thanks:classic:

Alan I too had a totally different perspective of what you'd look like. I really thought u would look older than that, don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing to you. Anyway here's a link to the picture of myself I uploaded a while back. http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=4035&password=&sort=7&thecat=500 There the only photo's I have of myself on my PC at the moment taken about a year ago and yes I was clowing around with the camera don't take any of those poses seriously :stupid: . I figure I'll take your lime light Alan . BTW to those who doubt Alan was there, why? are you trying to discredit him or are you jealous you were not invited? Not expecting an answer
  7. Hey she passes my roadworthy I hope when i get older I still find women as exciting as you to do .

Hi Kats yes I agree the grille on the Z is a bit strange, Personally I prefer the Mesh grille to the bar type. Some people have extended the grille themselves with a bit of welding and creativity.

    SIGH never driven a Turbo Z .

I believe I have a 2+2 clutch I'm not sure what's the diameter of the 2+2 one? This is why if AlfaDog is reading I didn't want to sell the flywheel with my 240k gbox. Is getting a flywheel lightened expensive? I'd probably do this at the same time or perhaps get a better flywheel altogether . Getting a bit of cash flow soon may as well spend it on something I'd enjoy. Getting a hold of a turbo flywheel or clutch might be a bit hard in AUS. Anyone else wanna suggest anything?:classic:

I disagree I like it. It's the back i'm not so sure of though bit of a bit butt. With a spoiler it's fine I think. I still would like to drive one but I think I look too young to waltz into Nissan and ask for a test drive. Go the Kpgc10

I get it someone in Melbourne now who would that be . Depending if I get time I might check it out, I was alerted to the fact that there was no 69 mdl 240z's in Australia officially imported by another member in this forum, and it's a common misconception by us Ozzies that we got ones before 1970. I've heard it in a number of places. The number 4 car was used to test drives by the press for the release of the car back in 1970 and was in the possession of lindsy drife last time I saw the car nice car indeed. http://www.zspares.com.au I think is his website. Looks to be down at the moment.

Hi guys recently my car has been seeming like it's not going anywhere when I hit the gas. It took me a while to come up with what I believe is the reason why and a friend helped me confirm that it's the most likely conclusion. I believe the clutch is slipping because it seems fine on take off but when i down gear or up gear I sometimes get alot of revving but no going . I'm pretty sure it's an aftermarket clutch in there but not sure how long it's been there or what brand it is. I'm wondering what you guys would recommend for a Z with ~200hp or less. I know that the stock ones are bad for launching the car not that i do that often but every so often I do like to give it a bit of stick. Any recommendations ??? :classic: Trying to keep it under the $400 mark also. I'll also install it.

Steve even though it's a low numbered Z it's come to my attention that none of our Aus Spec Z's were 1969 mdl's. Infact the lowest number Z in Aus is HS30 0004. This was a 70mdl I thought I should point out. :classic:
  17. I always forget about that Skylines here are a dime a dozen see so many GTST's around it's ridiculous there a bit of a thug car now. A GTR is a rarer site and I must say I do appreciate them as there the real deal not some GTST wanna be with a kit on it. RB20,25,26 are fairly easy to get here your right but if I ever turbo my 240z I'll go with my L28(P90) as I think it's keeps the car with the same original feel to a degree. I have considered an RB engine but and a friend of mine is doing a swap from an RB30 N/A to an Rb20DET in his commodore(Family Sedan) I will be curious to see how it drives after. Good Luck
  18. Quick question for 2 Many Z's. I have a similar problem with my Z and believe it to be the valve stem seals on a couple of cylinders of course If I was gonna do 1 I'd do them all. However alot of people have said not to bother until I do a full rebuild but I'd prefer to not be burning any oil as it's bad for the environment and I have to keep topping up the oil in the car every 2 months or so being a daily driver it is. Would you recommend in your experience to fix the issue or wait for rebuild? Thanks
  19. My girlfriend is convinced I only come to the website for 1 reason and thanks to mike she's right . Nah seriously between our gallery which is 99% Z cars and 1% females she knows us boys are a bit naughty at times but she doesn't mind I pointed out the new welcome page yesterday she gave a smile so it's all in good taste besides I like a good optical illusion once in a while .

I read the ad on ebay but he didn't say the paint was an original color either so that would not make it concours either

It should also be pointed out that in Aus we didn't get Boat Anchors on our 73 Model 240z's. We were left alone till 74 when the 260z arrived with boat anchors. I believe Euro Spec 240z's were very similar to the Aus spec ones. So this might apply to you Phillip. Bambi is right check Zhome.com as there's so many differences and we have stated them so many times it's easier to refer you onto http://zhome.com where it's all been documented with pictures etc.. If you have any questions afterwards don't hesitate to ask

I really like that 240z even if it's 20k I keep seeing people asking high prices for Z's and to be honest it's not at all bothering me I like the idea that my Z will someday command a bit more than I paid for it. And after cleaning all the grease off the bottom of my car last 2 days and getting filthy as hell it doesn't make it seen like it wasn't worthwhile. I agree it's a astronomical price and I wouldn't have the money to buy it but if I did buy it I'd store it in a garage and only take it to shows etc... 2 many is right about the wheels however he might just have those on there because there nicer factory wheels than the hubcaps I'd ask if he still has a set of early Z hubcaps. BTW I've decided to start saving webpages like the ebay one and any other Z's going for astronimical prices or high prices just for future reference or insurance purposes anyone else think that's a good idea?
  23. Hey IcIce9 I really like your 280zx I'm usually a S30 fan not a S130 person but I've seen a few lately that are very nice. Too bad we didn't get the 2 seater turbo in AUS. BTW is it turbo?:classic: PrOxLaMuS© I think you can blame me for Hijacking this thread.
  24. Brandon i tend to agree in many ways but there are a few things to take into consideration. 1.) History these cars are part of History yes the Z probably deserves to be higher valued but there were alot more S30 Body types Z's produced. 2.) I have never driven a C110 GTR and you never know it could be alot of fun. 3.) Part may be difficult to obtain and a good condition car may also be hard to find. It's always a case of suppy and demand and if someone wants the car bad enough they may get the money they ask. You never know some young Japanese kid may have fond memories of such a car and might have the money to pay for this sentimental car . I spose what I'm saying is it might not be that appealing to you but there becoming more and more appealing to me with some pictures of ones I've seen recently. Also thanks to people like Alan T who have educated me on the C110 I like them more, 12 months ago I would have agreed with you . I still prefer a KPGC10 GTR personally but i think i'd enjoy a S20 powered car :classic: . Cheers
  25. Keep it in your pants Rick don't be offended BTW
