240Z racing a Z06 Vette
I'll have you know it was a funky caca brown Z that got me into them in the first place. It was also a 2+2 Shock Horror . It was a fellow Neighbours it was always parked out the front of his place in the street. I saw the P plate on the car (Probationary Plate). We have to use these when we first get our licence here in Australia for 3 years to show were still new to driving not sure if you have the same thing in America. Anyway point was I thought if a young guy could afford a car like that then maybe I could too. So I had a look around and came across my first 240z :classic:. I recently downloaded some video's from the 350z.com I think it was and it features John Morton talking about the BRE car and how it out run the Porsche's in 1970. It also talks about how they were running stock brakes just two boosters and stock struts etc.. Had they had the time to modify the car well need I say more.

Japanese Stock Wheel.
I like Woodgrain personally. http://www.project240z.0catch.com/260zinterior.jpg this was my old 260z the interior was a bit rough but I liked the steering wheel it was very sexy. I think if you had a wood steering wheel in there it's best to put one back :classic: . Not taking into account that a 240z's steering wheel is fake wood :classic: .

Japanese Stock Wheel.
:classic: The skinny Wheel can be fixed. http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=3887&papass=&sort=1&thecat=527 this is a photo of a fairlady z they were fitted with these I believe. Alan HS30-H would know more his Z has it also. but then again Kats has a very sexy stock steering wheel. http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=2888&papass=&sort=1&thecat=500 I like the momo wheels the Champion then Race is next on my list. I really like the stock wheel but there's something appealing about it. You don't see many classic cars without the original wheel and I figure why should the Z be any different. 240z your car looks really sexy I luv the rear Bre style wing and the wheels are really good how come you no longer have them? I really like your interior sennavsprost but I feel the steering wheel ruins in my opinion. No offence of course I'm a bit of a purist I must admit. The stock radio makes it look so much clearner. I have a 80's heap of $h!t in mine. The rest of the car looks great what color are you gonna finish her in?

zx limted slip?
The 300zx your talking about is it the Z31 or Z32? I'm pretty sure your talking about Z31. We got some 300zx (Z31 Turbo's) here in Australia as well as the California edition 300zx (smoother Lines). I'm not sure where to start looking for a LSD for my Z and if we even got them here in Australia. The harder part will be obtaining the CV's off the 280zx Turbo as we did not get the 280zx turbo here in Australia which also brings me to the question why not? Anyway Thanks for the help.

Clutch problems
Ok reading through the haynes manual I believe that if the slave cylinder boot has been torn and causing the problem then i'd try replacing the boot first. For some reason I don't believe it would be the boot however stopping it from working I'd say the slave cylinder probably has a leak somewhere else and the boot is just to protect it from dust etc... Examine is closely and if it is leaking try finding a rebuild kit of somesort or else you might have to bite the bullet and get one off Nissan probably expensive. Good Luck.

Clutch problems
Bleeding the clutch is only necessary if you've disconnected the clutch assembly from the gearbox or drained the clutch fluid or have a leak in the system. However once you have it all working bleeding is quite simple and probably easier with two people. Basically there is two screws at the botton of the clutch assembly that connects to the gearbox. The bottom one should have a rubber cover on it and it looks like a nipple hence the word bleed nipple. Once you've got your clutch system ready no leaks, fill the reservoir with clutch fluid then loosen the bleed nipple have a container handy and while a friend gets into the car hold the bucket or container up to the nipple and get your friend to press the clutch pedal quicky and hold it down. You do it fast because this encourages the air to move quicker and come out of the clutch line and of course the aim is to not have any air in the system. Note this will also send some fluid shooting out and that's why you want to cover the nipple it's probably not good to get it on you and it does irritate your skin a bit I find if you do get it on you. (Sounds dirty huh?) :classic: While your friend is still holding down the clutch tighten the nipple and he can then let go of the pedal. Check the reservoir level and if satisfactory repeat until your friend says it's getting good pressure on the pedal or you can't see any air comming out. If you can't get a friends help you can connect a hose to the nipple and put a small amount of fluid in the container and leave it on the floor this is like when you suck through a straw and if you put your finger on the end the suction or vacumm will keep the fluid in the straw if you get what I mean. Anyway I hope that helps not sure if I went into too much non necessay detail but good luck. Gav

Air Dams, Spoilers and Exhaust Fumes
I had a 260z that had been in a accident at the rear quarter near the exhaust side and it had actually seperated part of the body from the rear floor. There was a gap there and fumes poured in very bad used to give me vile headaches. It's definately the shape of the car that attracts the fumes there but it's the seals that keep them out. I'd seal them up as quick as possible as I feel it's quite dangerous and could be a health hazard from my experiences of headaches not to mention clothes smelling like fumes. Off Topic MR Camouflage I luv your avatar did you make it yourself? Is it an animated gif?
