Just call me Grace. HA!!
I know what you mean but it's a sports car deal with it. I imagine racing seats will make it more of a task .

Well that's what E-bay is all about it's an Auction site and he will only get $700 if someone is willing to pay that. So we can let the "average fools" buy it.

CCW wheels
I love those wheels look like the ones used on Tod Kaneko's 240z http://www.lancut.com.pl/priv/emc/features/'70s_late_'60s_vehicles/ There's a gallery for bigger images at the bottom.

It may be expensive but it sure looks nice. Not that I'd buy it wouldn't have the money personally. Especially since it's in US dollars conversion rate would kill me.:classic:

the legal kind of lsd.
It's good to have you along MIke C. You seem like a well informed individual in the diff area anyway. An area where I'm still a little vague. I understand the difference between R-180 and R-200. I also know early 240z's had the diff set forward a bit more and as a result it wore them out quicker due to vibrations. The LSD is where I start to get lost. I don't understand how u make an open diff LSD. Could you please clarify what you change to make it LSD? Also here in Aus we do have some of the Z31 Turbos and Z32 Turbo's but which one can we use? Is it the Z31 that had the finned cover? We never got a 280zx turbo does this make parts harder? You mention that Kaaz and a couple of other companies make a LSD kit for a R200 so if you have a standard R200 open diff do you not need to go get Z31 or Z32 donor parts? Thanks for your time. :classic:

whats involved with a light rebuild?
Carl that's a very good point...... I'll probably plot around in my L28 N/A until I build up the Turbo P90 project. It may also be the valve stem seals that are stuffed. I notice if the car idles for a while and I give it a little rev then I get the puff of blue smoke is it more likely to be valve stem seals or rings in this situation? Thanks again.:classic:

Electronic ignition
Yep dizzy is an aussie thing......... I have an electronic dizzy in my Z no problems with the tach. In terms of reliability the 260z tachs are the problem ones. Apparently they were made by a different company and worked slightly different. Only problem is my 260z tach never worked when I had a 260z and every tach I swapped did not work either. Could have been my car but I'll never know now .

whats involved with a light rebuild?
Could you guys shed some light on what is involved in a light rebuild as he originally posted as I'm also curious..:classic: My l28 burns a bit of oil doesn't leak it so I have the feeling the oil rings are gone on 1 of the cylinders. It runs hard and fine just eats a bit of oil, I've tried thicker oil for older engines helps a bit not heaps. I think the engine is in good condition for the most part it still gets good oil pressure.

to align or not align
Ok recently I replaced my front control arm bushes which involved removing the control arms. Should I also get an alignment? I was going to replace the rear ones with urethane but could not obtain those easily here in aus it's a future plan. I had the stock rubber ones from Nissan but the monkey's gave me 4 of the same ones for the inner bushes and I couldn't even get the lower outer ones. Long story but you say the rear will not need alignment??? Because I did take the rear control arms off also.... Thanks. PS: If it is out of alignment will it feel alot better to drive afterwards???

l24 w\l26 rotating assy. and e31 head.
Hey Mike if you read this post, maybe you could add this program to the download section here. I could not find it when I looked under downloads so maybe it's there and I'm blind. Otherwise it's located at the above link :classic: .

l24 w\l26 rotating assy. and e31 head.
Ok I'm not sure what the word is but here's my reply..... Ok by rotating assembly do you mean crank??? If so it would probably be easier to get a L26 bottom end or L28 block. If you do go for the F54 block and stick the E31 engine head on there. You will require some machine work to make it fit the larger bore. Compression should come up to about 10:1 maybe more with an E31. check out this site:= http://www.zcarclub.com.au/Lseries.htm Very useful program. My car runs a E88 Head F54 block at 10:1 compression ratio. It's been given ZX valves etc... Goes nicely

P90a True or False...
I find this an interesting topic and would like to know the exact answer or confirmation. mainly because I saw this head on a 240z being raced for the targa tasmania rally here in AUS. He was running non turbo tripple webbers probably huge cam but maybe he used the P90 head flow capabilities and changed the lifters etc... here in AUS especially it would be very difficult to obtain spares.

Fairlady Z stroker
Alan Alan Alan Alan I must be annoying

Fairlady Z stroker
Well maybe I shouldn't say correct you all :classic: . However it's the second 240z I've seen with a later Dash and went huh??? Also Alpha I might hang onto that 240k gearbox my Z one has been feeling a bit rough I'm gonna fill it with more oil to see if it's just low on oil I suspect it's leaking from the rear seal. If that solves the problem I will look into selling it. I'll try find out what it's worth for ya.

Intake Manifolds.
Link is broken however I've been there before can't recall much about it. I looked at mine in the garage can't see much difference I spose I'll get it polished up and stick it on one day. I'll let you know if I notice anything might be a bit hard.:classic:

Fairlady Z stroker
Ok I'm gonna correct you all.. From what I've noticed it is a 240z if it's Japanese they came with the 260z dash earlier on so in a sense it's not a 260z dash it's the later dash. Remember this is a Japanese Z so it has alot of options we did not see till later. I read an article about how Road and Track first reviewed the 240z and said it's a great car but needs some more options including mag wheels so that's probably why later cars had stuff like A/C , defoggers, mag wheels etc etc.. Check with http://datsun30.hp.infoseek.co.jp/ you will note his fairlady has a 260z dash. Also some of the Japanese Z's had both the C pillar Z badge and the vented hatch... Alan how correct am i?:classic: PS : Zvoiture I totally disagree I love the car. Picture is of a 432.

Japanese stock engine
Before I leave it at that for others reading I think I should also mention that the S20 had different engine mounts is this correct?? Also are the gearboxes compatible? And is the weight of the engine any different? more less <>. THanks.

Japanese stock engine
Hey Alan, Is the kit very hard to get a hold of? No doubt it's expensive. I think you've mentioned this before but the L Series engine shares no similarities with the S20 does it??? What i mean is you can't just slap the twin cam head onto a L engine??? Chris! Alan is our little Guru or bible or database. We just love him :classic: . I hope to know as much as he does one day :classic: .

Yikes!!! Look what's for sale here
If you help 240z I will Alan .... I don't know what to say about this car I'm really quite speechless. I must say however I do hate it. The only thing that makes the car look ok is the fact that it's built on a 240z. At least it's only a HLS30 I'll run for cover. Kidding guys I like all 240z's.
