Nissan Datsun Sports Owners Club.
Hey guys just wanted to know if anyone on this forum was a member of the NDSOC (Nissan Datsun SPorts Owners Club). I've been intending to join for a long time now and haven't got around to it. I just wanted some general feedback on the club and if it's worth joining. I imagine it would be :classic: I saw them once down at Sandown running around the track a nice yellow ZG turbo

Skyline boxes in a 240z
Umm where did u say this 69mld 240z is???:classic: If it's a 432R then your a lucky lucky bastard and I hate you . Alphadog I'm not sure if I want anything for the gearbox as I don't know if I'll be selling it just yet. How much were you looking to buy it for? Alan did all of the PS30 Z's with the S20 have dual exhausts fitted to it as a matter of course? I was under the impression that this was a feature of the Works Rally Cars. Thanks

Skyline boxes in a 240z
Alan you mention the 240k gearbox might have usefull gear ratio's for racing??? I have a spare 240k box I suspect that came from the c110 it's a 5speed but apparently they have the bad ratio's???? Anyway I spent a bit of money on rebuilding it and nobody will take it off my hands for any amount of money so it's stuck in my garage doing nothing. Is there any use for this?? I was keeping it incase I blew mine up and needed a spare.

Does you 'Significant Other' drive your Z?
Maybe he was adopted . My girlfriend knows I wouldn't let her drive it. She would hate for anything to happen to it. My mum doesn't want to drive it even though I know she's loved the 240z since she was my age (about 20). I've let friends etc.. drive my cars before and I find it hard watching others drive my car as I don't always agree with the way they drive it. The car is only insured for me anyway which is good and makes a good excuse. I drive it I love it it's my baby.

1973 240K Coupe
Alan Once again I'm blown away by your library of knowledge. You'll have to forgive my model code muck ups I've only just got into learning about these older Datsuns/Prince cars. I read an article that tickled my fancy in a magazine. It had the normal 2 door GT version which had been turned into a replica car of the GTR. It featured a modified L28 made into a 300HP weapon. The interior of the car grabbed me I love the layout and look. The front of the cars look beautiful and I believe the car was nicknamed "Hakosuka" which directly translated means something like Box skyline. I read that it was build to outperform the european cars and sent them home with their tales between there legs. The R380 is a machine that I feel looks amazing. I couldn't imagine how much fun it would be to drive it. Kinda reminds me of the Ford GT40 but sexier. Did they ever race them outside Japan? The more I read about these old cars the more I realise just how under rated some of them were. Here's a link to some pictures I manged to come across tonight. http://datsun31.hp.infoseek.co.jp/PHOTO2002_4.html Enjoy.

Hey guys I think you read it wrong I checked the add and he says one of lowest surviving if you could call it that Z's. He doesn't claim it's the lowest out there if you read the words properly. You got it my old project I never got around to doing it sold it to a mate real cheap now regret it I luv that car no fair. On the brighter side I do luv my current 240z. Check it in the rides.

SNORT! "Lowest surviving production number?"
I tell you what if that car was for sale here in Aus I'd snap it up. Store it away and fix it when my pockets got deeper. I'm looking for an early Z shell I love the 69/70 mdl with the rear vents.

1973 240K Coupe
I've seen a few around Melbourne. There's a fellow who goes around ST KILDA in one it's very good condition. I drove next to him once in my Red 240z was too arrogant to talk to him. Sorry There not my favorite I like the PC110 I think it's that. The Original GTR. Now that's a car and it's one of the most expensive cars in Japan. I bet Alan would know a bit about them. www.redpark.net is a website for the redpark museum which has classic Datsun and Prince Cars. I love the Prince Gran Prix car not sure what it's called again

Just Bought a 240Z Need Info
Hey Gavin, my name is also Gavin ;-). Anyway I'm not sure about the amount of 71 Z's that were brought to AUS. I was under the impression that the 1970 and 72 were the least amount of 240z's brought here and the 71 and 73 were the most amount of 240z's brought here. The cylinder head however E31 is quiet a hard find. Mainly because of it's high compression 9:1 or so I believe and it wasn't restricted by the same emission laws. It has a high quench chamber I think. (never seen one). I'm not sure about WA Z car clubs but I'm sure there's one around there's a couple of Perth boys on this forum Halz I believe is one of them. Anyway that's all I can contribute. Gav,
