RHD Fairlady S30 gas pedal
Here is a Calendar clock modified to suit an early S30Z dashboard. @zclocks did this for me. Great work as always. If I wanted the look of the Rally Clock, but didn't have the budget to justify 1 (and they are pretty expensive now). I'd do this in a heart beat. Looks great and is probably more reliable too! I'm just a stickler for the twin knob clock with the movable dial face and the hum of the oscillator. Geez that all sounds a bit rude.

RHD Fairlady S30 gas pedal
The Rally Clock Bezel is the same as the regular early Jeco bezel used on the standard 240z clock (or Fairlady Z-S) clock. FYI: I've had a couple of the later calendar clocks modified to work in a 240z dashboad, the mounting points are different, but it's really the wiring that needs the most work. Since the later cars had a single loom plug. Where as the earlier 1 had a different power wiring loom to the light bulbs. Also the Rally Clocks (twin knob) are bigger than a standard Jeco clock but there is no issues fitting the slightly larger gauges in the 240z dashboard. Not much behind to interfere with it, but it can be a pain to install if you don't remove the AMP/FUEL gauge, because the glovebox gets in the way.

Mr.Uemura wrote a book "making story of a Fairlady-Z"
I bought the book shortly after my post, because I figured with or without the difference in pages it was probably still worth buying for information contained within. It is now on it's way to Australia ;).

I too am interested in why the English version may be shorter? I certainly hope some home market car details were not omitted? That would be a shame. I'm also curious about this S20 powered LHD S30Z chassis. Alan are you willing to share photos of this car? Does it still exist?

1971 240Z for sale (un-restored, original 39000 mi car)
My car is HS30 00150, which has L24-015253 and I suspect was built around the same time frame as your car. It arrived in Australia around Nov 1970. So it was built just before that.

Pricing 240z Rally Clock w/ Fully Functioning Oscillator?
Next time list the contents as mobile phone remote trigger. :). Nah it will be fine. I once went through the airport with a couple of AM radio's out of a 240z and got asked what was in the bag. When I showed them, they didn't think much. But I guess the old school looking electronics raised some suspicions. I was expecting the same when I went from the US back to Australia with a couple of Rally Clocks in a cardboard box, but they didn't ask anything about those. I took them as carry on, as I didn't want to them to get damaged / lost in check in luggage.

Oxidi-Zed
At this price I'd load her into a container ship her half way around the world and cut her to bits over here in Australia to use as a donor to rebuild our RHD S30Z's. You cannot find projects like that here anymore for these prices. Likewise in Europe, that's where all these cars are going.

Hi Greg (hr369) / Eric (monkeyman), Who do I order your version of the Oscillator through? I will worry about wiring and plug types later, just interested in the Oscillator at this stage. I've already got the other version made by d3c0Y and his friend, but would like to evaluate your version also. Cheers, Gavin.

1970 Z432 For Sale - California
Of all the vocabulary used to describe people in this thread I think "dimwit" is pretty moderate. Certainly not that bad compared to what I see in a lot of other avenues of the Internet, I'd almost say it was a polite way of insulting someone. Of course someone is entitled to express an opinion but to down right trash or degrade these cars when you already apparently own 1 makes no sense to me. Especially if you've never like I say driven, owned or experienced 1 of these cars for yourself. I have to ask the question? Why are they here? Isn't the Classiczcar.com club all about preservation, restoration and appreciation of these cars? If you want to discuss how rubbish the original engines were I'm sure Hybridz.org would love to have you and encourage you to stick an LS lump in it and be done with it. I also happen to own an FD RX-7 and I'm constantly told by "experts" that the rotary is a rubbish unreliable engine that eats apex seals within 10 miles and produces no torque.. When I ask them if they have ever driven 1 or owned 1, I usually get a deafening silence... In my opinion those too happy to trash and diss something based on what they read on the Internet are just a bunch of virtue signaling "dimwits" and should be ignored anyway. Now can we get back to discussing how great these cars are?

1970 Z432 For Sale - California
I think a big problem with a lot of opinions being thrown around and especially those trashing these cars and their values is that those same folks have never.. A.) Driven an S20 powered s30z B.) Owned an S20 powered car. C.) Looked into the vast array of differences between L-gata and 'budget' conscious S30z, and compared it with the higher spec Z432 or Z432-R models. If they did any of the above they may better appreciate what makes these cars special. Badge or Emblem snobbery goes a long way towards dismissing the value of Japanese classics and has for a long time, but slowly and surely it is changing. I wonder if those dismissing the value of said vehicles also feel that the Toyota 2000gt, L10A Mazda Cosmo or KPGC10 Skyline GTRs are also over priced? Do you feel the same way about air cooled 911s? Does the idea of a clean 4 cylinder 912 at $50k USD make you feel ill? Or is it just the "Datsun" you think is overpriced?

1970 Z432 For Sale - California
So for those questioning the value riddle me this, why is a Toyota 2000GT a $1M + car now? What about a Ferrari GTO? Why are they worth $30M +? Surely these are all just cars that go point A to point B. No doubt many modern cars could do the job a lot better, cheaper, reliably and at a lower cost and fuel efficiency? The Z432 needs to be viewed in the context of the fact that it was a car you could buy in late 1969, the engineering in the S20 is impressive and the parts and components that went with it. The fact that a LHD 240z (HLS30) can still be bought cheap is a function of large remaining supply, and unfortunately many were under appreciated. A similar era 911 would cost at least 3-4x a similar S30Z and yet I know which I'd prefer and do own. If you don't see the value in the Z432 that's fine, clearly others do. Frankly I'm appalled at what has been done to many S30Z's and sadly continues to be done to them to this day. But that's what people want to do and until they have exhausted the supply of S30Z's to the point where you can no longer pick 1 up cheaply, I suspect it won't change. Thankfully those days are numbered and they can spend all their time cutting up S13/S14/AE86 etc.. until those become rare enough and desirable in about 20 years. Then someone will have the audacity to post an immaculate original 1 on a forum somewhere and be told it's over-priced. Thus the circle will be complete.

I'm glad your not my accountant...cause that math don't make sense to me...How well "restored" do you think most $25k HLS30's are anyway? By that same token of being over-priced an early air cooled 911 is just a VW Beetle with a few panel and badging differences....oh and a whole lot of ego missing...
