  1. You mean the Z isn't flintstone powered? and I've been peddling all this time
  2. Well some interesting points, I too had thought we could implement an option to allow the individual to select if they want to protect their gallery but as Mike said it's not that simple. There would be a fair bit of code and research to do something like this. I had an assignment recently which just involved using Java to mail merge 2 documents and I found that pretty tough. :paranoid: . Another good option was to make galleries only accessible to registered members. That way visitors looking for images to rip off will at least have to go through the membership process and more often than not they are in a hurry to find appropriate material and will go elsewhere. The new system is annoying because you can't copy and paste text. The right click function is more than just an image saver. All it does is slow the process down and frustrate legitimate members. . I think the best thing is user discretion (spelling?) and if you do wish to post something else where at least provide a link to the original place it came from and some description. So I'm voting for No protection .

haha your right Alfa but I am usually online and up late enough to see what's new straight away. Still searching for that elusive diesel crank. I know Gee was willing to check one out up in Qld if that offer still exists I might need your help with it sometime soon. However back to the topic at hand

Hi Method you can check out the www.viczcar.com website from time to time i list as many Z's for sale as I can dont' be suprised though alot of our members are like you "looking". www.ozdat.com is another good place to look every wednesday it is updated. of course trading post. By the way good luck finding a Z is the hard part as Alfa was saying. I'd rather not disclose how much i paid for my Z because I feel it is worth more than what I paid. I also believe these cars are on the verge of shooting off into a higher price range. I'll just let you know it was under $10k but honestly I'd be willing to pay $10k or more to replace her for a similar condition car. Hope that makes sense it's awfully late atm

Not meaning to make you feel bad Mike I know the effort you go to with this site. Just don't really think it's neccessary. Peace out

I kind of have to say I agree with Carl on that. However it's not a big loss for Internet Explorer users you just move the mouse over the image for a few seconds and click on the disk that appears and you can still save the image. The whole problem is if you can view the picture through HTML you can save the picture it's already on your Hard Drive in the browser cache. The only thing is achieves is stopping computer illiterate people.

Ok lets say I downloaded an image of someone's car off this site. Then I went into photoshop and played with it and changed the way the image looked the color of the car or the background etc.. Would you then still say there is a copyright on the image? I guess in a way it is but I am wondering what others think about this? :stupid:
  12. Thanks Ed that was really informative . I'll be doing that next time when i'm replacing the bushes in the area .
  13. Sounds similar to the story behind my Z but a little less exotic. The original owner has it a few years. Sells it to the father of the guy I bought it off who has it for a while then in 1990 or so she under goes some work a fresh paint job etc. Since then was in the family till around 2001-2002 when i bought her and have no intention of selling for quite some time.
  14. At least he's not trying to make a profit hey Alan?
  15. Nissan bluebird not sure exact years but early 80's type has an electronic fuel pump which is good for a carb'd Z. pumps between 3-4 PSI .
  16. Build whatever is in your budget and you think you'll be happy with. Maybe just maybe for now the wisest option is to build it to stock specs and then have it running nicely so you can save some money and build the stroker later. Or if you think you can get away with it just keep driving it and save money and rebuild the thing in 1 go.
  17. Thanks Alfa I enjoyed that , infact the more i look at these cars the more i like them maybe im a little biast(spelling) in saying they look great in red.
  18. Agreed check that the pin and locking nut are aligned correctly i had to do this with a torch and get underside view so i could see just how things were lining up. Have fun

I know nothing about the MSD ignition modules you guys in the US always refer to. Maybe someone else could help you better with that question?

Mike no offence but Anit Leech code is only gonna stop the naive computer user. If it can be viewed it can be saved. It becomes a bit harder if it's encoded inside something like a flash file or director file etc. I know that Adobe Photoshop has a option to mark your image as copyright but i haven't played with it myself. However i understand the point you are making

The best coil is the Bosch type. The big blue ones you'll see them on the older V8 Mercedes. They have lots of fluid which keeps them cool and they last forever. I'm gonna get 1 once i've finished my motor.
  22. On a serious note the head light buckets could have been replaced as the pin strike does not continue all the way to them. I know on my 73 they continued to the buckets but i am not sure if these are a factory item and if they all go to the same place. Yellow indicators? It is an American car right? I was under the impression your turn signals were red. 2 toe hooks? Clock doesn't work. Dash matt is disgusting "especially with the factory Chapman independent rear suspension" Umm McPherson maybe? Yes i have been a little silly i guess im just in that mode
  23. Fluffy dice.

Hey Ben sorry for the late reply. I have seen that Japanese ZG before and as beautiful as the car is I hate the wheels. I know they are period suited and were popular at the time and maybe even now but I much prefer the car when he put Watanabe's on it. Really improved the car entirely. He has a friend with what appears to be a real KPGC10 GTR they pics are somewhere on his site. I browsed it for ages a year or so ago .

Well as a general rule the pics I post in my gallery that are of cars I do not own i post in my general gallery while pics of my car or VicZcar events go into there own folder. If anyone ever says nice comments about a car in my gallery and I don't own it. I inform them i'm not the owner and try to point them towards the owner of the car. That way I don't take the credit for anyones hard work
