  5. Mike, My understanding was that the Vintage Z currently on BaT had air conditioning added by one of the owners at some point after the car was purchased in 1997. I also remember reading a number of years ago that the Vintage Zs were not equipped with A/C and that a lot of the cars came with a blank cover or a "radio delete" plate where the radio usually goes. Back in 2004, my son and I saw one of the VZ cars, HLS30-40904, a Monte Carlo Red '71 Series II sitting on the showroom floor at Peak Nissan in Littleton, CO. The dealership had purchased the car from a gentleman in Florida, who bought it in 1997. My son took a few pictures including the interior of the car, showing the radio delete plate. I'm not sure if all of the Vintage Zs came with radio delete covers, perhaps 26th-Z can confirm this.

  7. I recently purchased a 240Z that came with a set of 4 Keystone 15" x 7" aluminum wheels and some old P195/65R15 tires that I had professionally removed from the wheels. I didn't care for the look of the wheels and I plan to put them up for sale soon. I have attached a few pictures of the wheels, but I have no idea what to ask for them. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Steve
  8. I agree with you, Guy. The seller states that the car is from Arizona (he also said it had its original paint too), but aside from the doglegs, it looks to be pretty solid. I like the fact that it has a new reproduction dash that you mentioned in your earlier post, that's a big savings of about $2,400.00 plus avoiding a huge hassle of removing the dash, shipping it, waiting for who knows how long before it is returned, then having to reinstall the dash.
  9. Good catch on the wiper stalks and the hood latch, Captain Obvious!
  10. After taking a second look at the listing, I realized that I overlooked that the seller mentions in his listing below that the car has its original paint. After looking through all of the pictures, it certainly looks like it has its original paint, except for a little dab of blue paint on the upper right hand corner of the data plate in the driver's door jamb. 11. Looks to be pretty solid. Here's the link: https://fortmyers.craigslist.org/lee/cto/d/fort-myers-1971-datsun-240z/6929051886.html
  12. Bill, Good to see pictures of the interior of your '71! Seats look great after the upholstery shop installed the new foam and new seat covers. I also recently purchased the foam and the new seat covers from MSA - I agree excellent quality. Which auto upholstery shop did you have the seats done - Auto Trim Specialists on East Evans in Denver by any chance? Your dash appears not to have any cracks - is that correct? Also, your car still has its original Hitachi AM radio - a very rare find!
  13. The car sold for $48,500.00!
  14. Looks like the subject car is an early '73, built in 11/72. That would explain why there are no heat wraps on the fuel rail.
  15. In 1973, didn't the 240Zs with the flat tops come with asbestos wraps on the fuel rail? They are missing on the subject '73 on BaT.
  16. I assume that both of you guys both are registered members on BaT? I know that I have seen motorman7's comments before. Some comments will be flagged by members as "not constructive" and then the moderators at BaT will review and decide if the comment is indeed "not constructive". However, the comments usually have to be pretty harsh or inappropriate to be removed.
  17. Welcome, Pinball! I live just south of the Denver metro area (Lone Tree). One of my current 240Z project cars is a '71 Series II car that was also built in 6/71 and is also originally from Colorado. The 918 Orange with black interior car that spent over 20 years sitting in a garage up in Cheyenne, WY. That's where I purchased the car and brought it home by trailer. It's VIN #HLS30-34495. Just curious, is your car's VIN close to my car's?
