  1. Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trkparms=tab%3DWatching&viewitem=&item=270199243600&_trksid=p3907.m32
  2. Yeah, one of those "Push, Pull or Drag" trade in promotions.
  3. For a well-documented 32,000 mile car with virtually no rust to speak of, I would say that the asking price is more than fair, particularly for an East Coast car. With the original interior all intact that includes a perfect dash, console, seats and door panels how can you go wrong? I would say someone could put $10k into this car and its value would be worth at least twice that just to start.
  4. Looks like the rust monster has really taken charge of this car! A parts donor is really all this car can hope to be.
  5. After reading the recent postings on this older thread, then seeing my old post and the attached pic back in January, I didn't realize how bad the lighting was with the low winter sun. Here's a better picture with much better lighting taken last May. This one seems to do more justice for the beautiful 918 Orange color (man, I wish I still had this car ).
  6. Very rarely do I see 240Zs here in the Denver area. I see more 280Zs and even more 280ZXs and 300ZXs. I'm not surprised about the number of Zs in California, since there are more Zs there than anywhere else in the entire world!
  7. If you have room for it, don't pay more than $500.00 for it and use it as a parts car. Then buy another one from Arizona or California.
  8. Welcome! First of all, you are probably the only member in this club that actually drives their 240Z in the snow (at least nowadays ), so I hope you don't plan on driving it in the snow anymore. I don't know much about Omaha as far as Z parts are concerned, but there are some very reputable companies around the country, particularly in Southern California that most of us have had very good experiences with. There's Motorsport Auto in Orange, CA (motorsportauto.com), who will give you a discount if you mention that you are a member of this club. There's Black Dragon Automotive in Lenexa, KS (blackdragonauto.com). An independent guy in Texas who I highly recommend is the-z-connexion who sells a lot of NOS (new old stock) 240Z parts on eBay and has very reasonable shipping charges. He will also work with you on the shipping charges if you purchase multiple items and will combine shipping. Here's a link: http://motors.search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZtheQ2dzQ2dconnexion Good luck with your project!
  9. Chris, I see your friend's car has the blue interior...do you have any pics of the inside? Just curious because my latest project that I recently purchased is a 904 White '71 with the blue interior.
  10. Welcome, Aiden! You should also check out the Z Car Club of Colorado, a single membership is only $35.00 a year. Here's the link: www.zccc.org
  11. I used the Rust-Oleum Black Satin. I haven't taken a picture of the backside of my son's and my '72 yet, but here's one of our '71 that we recently sold:
  12. JP, Unless you want to keep the car purely stock, I would say no. If not, you should do it. The '71 918 Orange Z that I recently sold was very close to be being almost pure stock with the exception of just a few things and the 5-speed was one of them. The 5-speed was already in the car when I bought it, so I really don't know how easy or difficult it is to install. All I can say is that I liked the 5-speed for the same reasons Dave mentions in his post. My other two Zs have the original factory 4-speeds which I plan to keep.
  13. Very nice work, Jim! I let go of a couple of these on eBay this past year because they had one or more of the studs broken off. They came off my projects and I had to find replacements with good studs because I had no idea how to repair them. For the benefit of members with the same problem, what would the process be to replace the broken studs embedded in the fiberglass?

  15. Brooks, Check out this thread, it has some good info & pics regarding floor pans: http://classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25227
  16. Since you're asking, I would say: Absolutely you should list the car on eBay if you want to get the most money for it! As it's been discussed in dozens of threads here on Classic Zcar Club, Zs will sell for a lot more if listed on eBay rather than trying to list them locally such as Craig's List or on Cars.com, etc. Especially a one-owner, low-rust California car. The important thing is to have a very good presentation of the car. So be sure to take plenty of pictures and provide a very detailed summary. I would start the bidding at $5k, then let it go up from there.
  17. Looks like the car was sold for $3,550.00 with 3 bids back on 11/22, then relisted. Here's the new link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970-Datsun-240Z-2572-An-amazing-find_W0QQitemZ160184129172QQihZ006QQcategoryZ6187QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  18. Looks like the car sold for the $750.00 minimum with 1 bid. I sure hope the buyer plans to restore the car and not part it out.
  19. Looks like the ad was placed all the way back on June 3rd. If it was listed on eBay it would have sold right away. Since '69 production Zs are so rare, I'm surprised that it's still available even locally.
  20. They do exist. There are also a number of "low-rust" Zs. Here's another one located in the Golden State that would make an excellent project car: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/72-datsun-240z-Classic-straight-body-excellent-engine_W0QQitemZ320186548082QQihZ011QQcategoryZ6187QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  21. I avoid malls like the plague, but the day after Thanksgiving I don't even leave the house! (today I listened to Colorado beat Nebraska on the radio while I worked on my '72 in the garage). I can't stand crowds and have found that the best time to go Christmas shopping is the Monday evening or Tuesday evening after Thanksgiving. What I really can't understand are those jokers who wait in line all night outside for Best Buy (or other) to open at like 4:00 am on Black Friday!!! :stupid:
  22. Now I'm convinced, you guys in California (and Arizona) don't know how good you have it. Rust-free Zcars go for A LOT MORE everywhere else!!
  23. I feel your pain and I know the feeling........I have 2 kids in college as well and I have 2 more that will be ready to go in less than 5 years!
  24. $2,500.00? Wow Bo, that's unbelievable! Sounds like you may have spoken to the seller. Have you seen the car yet? If so, what's the condition?
  25. Hi Carl, Yes, that one caught my eye as well. If it were on Ebay it would bring $10k-plus. Priced at only $5,900.00, this person obviously doesn't know the car's value. Someone is going to get one heck of a bargain!!!
