  1. Mike, It's definitely a polarizing color! I say repaint it to the original 112 color and you won't be sorry.
  2. 112 Yellow (aka Lime) is one of those 240Z paint colors that people either love or hate....I don't own a 112 Yellow car, but I just happen to be one of those Z owners who loves the color on the '72 & '73 240Zs, that's all.
  3. Carl, Yes, it certainly appears to be a solid car and a good candidate for a restoration. I love the 112 Yellow color with the black interior, but I truly dislike the dealer-provided vinyl top.
  4. This former California car with 112 Yelllow paint is available on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-1972-Datsun-240Z_W0QQitemZ200086337237QQihZ010QQcategoryZ6187QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  5. Sleepyzzz, Once you get everything installed, please let us know how you like the set up.
  6. Geez, original uncracked dashes are going for a lot nowadays, even 280Z dashes. My son and I sold a '72 dash just under 3 years ago on Ebay for a little under $500.00. I guess we should have held onto it because it would be worth twice as much right now. I have to agree with Darrel, the reason my son and I sold ours was the fear we would install it into our '72 and it would crack within a short period of time. If you're going to spend that much money, restorations are the way to go if you don't mind going through all the trouble to take out the dash and then reinstall it. 7. A late model Porsche 911.
  8. I e-mailed the seller to see what happened to the car or if it will be re-listed. Looks like the same seller also has a roadster for sale: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-SL311-1971-datsun-SL311-roadster-2000_W0QQitemZ150096770942QQihZ005QQcategoryZ6188QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  9. I was thinking about the all-Tokico combo currently listed on Ebay for the '72 to save some money. The '71 already has the Eibach Pro-Kit springs/Tokico HP struts. Sounds like Ken really likes his set up, but I have no idea how it compares to the Eibach/Tokico combo. I have to tell you, I really like the way the '71 rides and handles with the new Eibachs & Tokicos. Perhaps there's a member(s) who's had both set ups or who happens to have two 240Zs with the two different set ups that could let us know which one they like best.

Nice looking car, Chuck. I understand your current position and I wish you good luck with the auction .
  11. Hi Ken, That's good to hear that you like the Tokico spring & strut set up. I respect your opinon and would say that the package on Ebay for $322.00 with free shipping is a steal.
  12. Here's some pics of the car; thought I would post these since the listing will be deleted soon:
  13. Yeah, a California car that looks to have most everything still intact. #5772 VIN with the original number-matching engine, original paint and what appears to have very little rust. Too bad the listing was pulled, someone must have bought it locally.
  14. You should save it!
  15. From the pics, it looks to be a '72 is that correct, Tony?
  16. As many of you know, MSA is offering different spring & strut packages, like 4 Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs with 4 Tokico HP struts at a special "package" price. Well, I recently purchased 4 Tokico HP struts for the '71 from an Ebay Power Seller located in Nevada called "motorsportsdirect" for only $206.00 with free shipping. I also purchased separately a set of 4 new Eibach Pro-Kit springs from MSA on one of their "Weekend Specials" for about $185.00 with shipping, brining the total to approximatley $391.00 -a great deal. I saw this package tonight listed on Ebay by motorsportdirect for 4 Tokico HP struts and 4 Tokico lowering springs for only $322.00 for the entire package with free shipping in the lower 48 states -sounds like even a beter deal. How do these Tokico springs compare to the Eibachs? Randy, As far as I know and what I have seen, all Series I and II cars were equipped with the stock Hitachi AM radio until the Series III was released in 9/71 ('72 model) with the Hitachi AM/FM radio. Carl Beck probably knows if this is case or not.

H, No worries. Thanks for going there and checking it out for us. Sounds like the seller got the cars mixed up. That's real typical for the pull & save type junkyards... they sell off the parts then crush the shell. I've heard that a lot of the Zs in the Albuquerque area are pretty solid and priced well, is this true?
  19. Wow, that's amazing, Gregg! A '71 Series 2 240Z that needs a lot of work going for 5900 Euro or $7,670.00!

You make some good points, Carl. I agree, it really needs to be inspected in person first before bidding-too many unknowns and too many potential problems.

Great! We are looking forward to the pics. Thanks
  22. Hi Jesse, Sherman Oaks? Sherman Oaks, California, I assume. If I were you I would keep looking.....there are more 240Zs in California than anywhere else in the world and a lot of them are low-rust or sometimes even rust-free cars. The vast majority of 240Zs have manual transmissions. Welcome to the club and good luck with your search.
  23. Here's the link; looks like it comes with a lot of extra parts: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1971-Datsun-240Z-vintage-road-race-Z-car-ITS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ98064QQihZ011QQitemZ320085591264QQrdZ1

Looks like it's at $6,100.00 with 20 bids and a little over 2 days left at the time of this post. I wonder what the reserve is on this car. Even though this '69 production 240 has some modifications, it is a diamond in the rough. Obviously, this car has the potential to be worth a bundle of money someday, with its mostly solid body and original matching number engine, etc. Any guesses on what it will go for, assuming it meets the reserve?

H Houghton, When you go there, please bring a digital camera and take some pics of the '71 as well as the '72 then post them. From what Art@nissansport said, it sounds like the '71 has a solid shell. If I'm not mistaken, it seems like not too long ago a couple of members were looking for a good 240Z shell.
