  1. Eric, Yes, good eye...now that you mention it, that is a Series I steering wheel......not sure what it's doing on a '72.
  2. #3194 and 4812, both orange and both are currently listed on Ebay. #4812 is already at $9,800.00 with 12 bids and 8 days left at the time of this post: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-240Z-1970-240Z_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6187QQitemZ4621673538QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-1970-DATSUN-240Z-ORIGINAL-80-000-MILES-PRISTINE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6187QQitemZ4623164822QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
  3. You guys are missing my point. The guy started the bidding at $5k, which was a good place to start, but he set the Buy-it-now too low. Why not eliminate the Buy-it-now and let it go the full 7 days and see what happens? Obviously, the Buy-it-now was too low since it was snagged in just 1 day, and we all know that it was worth more than that. I just think that the guy didn't do his due diligence researching the market, that's all.
  4. Yeah, but that's the original paint on an Arizona desert Z. I seriously doubt it has any major rust problems.
  5. Alright, here you go: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20408&highlight
  6. Eric, I couldn't connect to the link, it had your user name and asked for a password.
  7. Not sure what part of the country you live in. Most junk yard Zs are pretty well stripped. Here's some project cars from all around the country: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20763
  8. Must be that time of year again (Spring Cleaning) when the wife says the "project car" or "that piece of crap out in the garage" must go. Looks like there are some real baahgins out there! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1972-DATSUN-240-Z-PARTS-OR-RESTORE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6783QQitemZ8047794378QQrdZ1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-72-1972-Datsun-Z-Series-240-Z-Restore-Or-Parts_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6187QQitemZ4620999014QQrdZ1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1972-DATSUN-240Z-Lots-of-Good-Parts_W0QQitemZ4614528969QQcategoryZ39405QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1972-Datsun-240Z-Good-project-or-parts-car-Last-one_W0QQitemZ8046563257QQcategoryZ6783QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1973-DATSUN-240Z-PROJECT-RAT-ROD_W0QQitemZ8046270175QQcategoryZ6783QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-1972-Datsun-240z-over-1500-in-parts_W0QQitemZ4621449108QQcategoryZ6187QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1973-DATSUN-240Z-Lots-of-Good-Parts_W0QQitemZ4614527868QQcategoryZ39405QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/74-260Z-Datsun-260-Z-240-Z-Front-Clip_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6755QQitemZ4620701571QQrdZ1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1976-Datsun-240z-260z-280z-1977-1978-Nissan-Parts-Car_W0QQitemZ8046054805QQcategoryZ6783QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-240Z-Datsun-240Z-Project-Car_W0QQitemZ4622467297QQcategoryZ6187QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  9. Eric, Since you saw the car in person, would it make a very inexpensive parts car for someone?
  10. Well, out of the 8 or 9 Zs these people started out with they have one 240Z left starting at $50.00 (a different one than what Eric originally won, then wisely switched out for the white 240), a 280Z 2+2, starting at $100.00 and and a Triumph Spitfire starting at $50.00: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1972-Datsun-240Z-Good-project-or-parts-car-Last-one_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6783QQitemZ8046563257QQrdZ1 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Black-1976-Datsun-280Z-2-2-Very-good-project-car-parts_W0QQitemZ8045257430QQcategoryZ6783QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1979-TRIUMPH-SPITFIRE-GOOD-PARTS-CAR_W0QQitemZ8046972280QQcategoryZ6783QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  11. Sold for over $11k. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4619261417&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AI

  13. Kurt, How's the project coming along? Please post some pics when you are ready.
  14. Eric, Hope to see more pics of the progress of your new project in the near future.
  15. The subject (below) doesn't look as polished as some that I've seen on Ebay..to me it just looks real clean and doesn't have that chrome-like shine to it.
  16. ahh, Zfever, the listing says the girl is not included....still interested???
  17. Saw this on Ebay, starting bid seems to be pretty high. Just curious, what are these generally worth... this one looks to be in good condition: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4620633447&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT
  18. My 3/71 starts at 0; don't know about my '72, it's at the body shop.
  19. It's good to hear your brother got a heck of a deal....From the sounds of things, there must be a lot of 240Zs in New Mexico and most of them aren't too badly rusted either.
  20. Well, now that I've been enlightned, it's a no brainer for me.... hmm..let me think, a factory original from my local Nissan Dealer that fits very well or a repro from BV that costs more and fits like crap??
  21. Hmmm, very curious, I wonder if he's looking to sell the owner's manual & invoice to the owner of #1316 for a very nice profit or if he's interested in buying the car?

  23. Mike, I agree with you, you don't see too many people show pics of all the ID tags (they even show a pic of the engine serial #, which just happens to be matching).. I don't care much for the red interior, especially the velour stuff they have in there, but that can easily be changed. (I'm changing out the red iinterior in my '72 to black) Yes, the dash looks bad, but overall seems to be a pretty solid car. As of the time of this posting, the car still hasn't met reserve and is at $4,150.00 with just under 3 days remaining. There seems to be a number of 240s listed on Ebay right now besides this one and someseemed to be at very reasonable prices right now for you bargain hunters: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-240Z-1972-Datsun-240Z-good-condition_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6187QQitemZ4619279035QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-Z-Series-240Z-HIGH-PERFORMANCE-1972-Datsun-Nissan-240Z_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6187QQitemZ4619714442QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW
  24. Wow! They really take their Zs seriously ove there! Everything from nice stock Zs with custom wheels to powerful drag racers! Nice pics!
  25. Well, of the 17 Nissan dealers in Colorado, there are 7 in the Denver metro area. I think I called all 7 plus one in Colorado Springs on Monday & Tuesday and none of them had any fenders in stock. In fact, a couple of the parts guys told me that they don't make them anymore and one even told me to call BV (yeah, right.. like I'm going to do that!). However, one I spoke to yesterday (Tuesday) was very helpful-Empire Lakewood Nissan, he first did a search for one in the Denver area, no luck (I could have told him that) then he did a search for Colorado, still no luck, than he did a national search and found one. At first he gave me a 15% Z-car club discount, then I told him that club member Danny posted a copy of his receipt on this website showing the Nissan dealer in Georgia gave him a 20% discount. so he gave in and applied a 20% discount for the fender! The fender should be in by tomorrow or Friday. Thanks for all the good advice guys, I really appreciate it! ) I feel good about my purchase from a dealer rather than some fly-by-night parts warehouse I found on the Internet.
