  1. Sorry, try this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-Datsun-Z-Series/202362400009?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649
  2. It's back........ Here's the link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-Datsun-Z-Series/163111145036?hash=item25fa2e8e4c:g:kPoAAOSw~Q9bLAwN
  3. Thanks for posting the 2 pictures, Jerry. You make a good point about this car, it may have its original paint, but it's not a solid survivor and the multiple rust issues have to be addressed. It's a shame about the issues, but it is still a good candidate for a full restoration.
  4. I would keep the original paint and thoroughly clean the car inside and out. I would then have a pro adjust the passenger door/ right front fender fit issues, remove the glue from the black 240Z stripes on both side, have paintless dent repair done, buff-out the paint, replace the front bumper and hood emblem with good used ones. Series I and II 240Zs with original paint are just too hard to find and that is the very reason that the seller is asking $20k or best offer for the car.
  5. Interesting. So do you think they did any work on the 240Z themselves? From what you're saying maybe they just installed the new carpets and emblems after the car returned from the body shop.
  6. Sorry, Jeff. I was reading your comment on my phone last night and I thought you were talking about the subject '71 240Z , as the picture of the beautiful white sports car did not load on my phone for some reason. I see the joke, now!
  7. Seriously, JSM? You obviously haven't kept up with 240Z values.
  8. Sounds reasonable to me. Hopefully, only serious members who are dying to find a solid 240Z with its original coat of paint and are willing to pay the price for one will come forward.
  9. Hi Dennis, Since you live in the area, if any members here on Classiczcars are interested in making a "Best Offer" on the car, would you be willing to contact the seller and take a look at the car for them?
  10. Located in Palm Springs, CA. VIN #HLS30-27805 with its original matching numbers engine. Looks to have its original 918 Orange paint. If so, this is a rare find. 11. Thanks, Mike. I also saw the Car Connection segment on this car with the father and son, but missed the auction which was sometime after that. I set the DVR last night to record the repeat of the auction and will fast-forward through and watch it tonight. I love seeing the father and son car stories, as my son and I worked together on two 240Z refresh projects when he was in high school. Now he's in med school. Time sure does go by quickly.
  12. Nice looking early '72 model with the vertical defroster lines in the rear hatch glass. Does the $33k include the buyer's and seller's fees?
  13. I took your advise, Mike and contacted the seller on the 16th, but I still haven't heard back. The eBay listing stated that the car was also listed locally, so there's a good possibility that's what happened to it. Any Classiczcars.com members live in the Tulsa, OK area and know anything about this car?
  14. Car is (or was) located in Tulsa, OK. Here's the link to the eBay listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-Datsun-Z-Series-/263734462931?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=c%2FgZop17jDZsg5njgcMWv4BbfXM%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

  16. Hi Frank, Congratulations on your purchase, you got a great deal on the car! Please provide us an update on any progress you have made on the car, along with some pictures.
  17. Good to hear from you, Chris! I'm glad to hear that #305 arrived in the Netherlands and is in better shape than you expected!
  18. OK, I now have an update on the VIN. The seller finally heard back from the buyer of the car and sent me a text message stating that the VIN is HLS30-02434. I texted him back, thanking him and I also asked him if the buyer was from here in the metro Denver area, and he said yes. Do any of you members from the Denver area know who bought the car? Whoever purchased the car, I sure hope they restore it and not part it out.
  19. I texted with the seller last night a while after I started this thread. He told me that the the transaction was finalized yesterday. I noticed the car's '2400' valve cover and asked him if he knew the VIN number. He said that he didn't pay much attention to the VIN on the title, but he would contact the buyer and get back to me today. Since I had not heard back from him today, I sent him a text message about an hour and a half ago, asking if he had a chance to call the buyer, but I haven't received a response yet. Once I hear back from him, I will post the VIN on this thread.
  20. Here's the link: https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/d/70-240z-for-sale-restore-or/6517657124.html "1970 240Z Datsun, 15. Mile on rebuilt engine 20 years ago, haven't tried starting in years. Everything original matching numbers Clean title. Transmission locked up after engine rebuild been sitting ever since. Body in fair restorable condition. Not drivable. Asking 1500.00 or make an offer. Call Carl "
  21. With this in mind, the seller of the '73 240Z that sold yesterday at Barrett-Jackson for $20,900.00 including buyer fees (pictured below) would have probably done better on Bring a Trailer or eBay, especially when you consider the seller fees BJ charges. On the other hand, the seller of the '72 240Z was very fortunate to get the $37K less the fees. There's no way that the '72 Z would sell for $37K on eBay or BaT.
  22. I believe that Barrett-Jackson charges both the seller and the buyer 5% each, but I could be wrong.
  23. I'm surprised that the car didn't sell for more money than the $20,900 including the 10% Barrett-Jackson fees. It looks to be a very clean and original car. It could be the bright color of the '72 that sold last night that brought more money. I know when watching the broadcast last night of the '72, Rick Debruhl mentioned that there was a bidding war going on between 2 bidders. That's usually all it takes to get the price to rise.
  24. The $40,700.00 includes the Barrett-Jackson 10% fee of $3,700.00. The winning bid was $37,000.00
  25. Did anyone catch this auction on Discovery or Velocity last night? It was the first time I have ever seen a 240Z auction televised at Barrett-Jackson before. Rick Debruhl talked about how "the 240Z pretty much single-handily almost killed the British sports car world". Mike Joy was on the stage with the car and talked about how the car was "restored to a high standard". Mike also pointed out that this '72 had the earlier 2400 OHC valve cover that came on the first 8000 Zs and that on eBay that you would pay up to $600.00 for one. Both of them seemed enthusiastic about the car and 240Zs in general. I thought it was pretty cool to finally see a 240Z auction televised on Barrett-Jackson and go for a good amount of money (even with the half-dash cap ).
