Just curious, does anyone know the approximate month and year when Nissan stopped manufacturing the early version of the 'D' hubcaps and came out with the later version 'D' hubcaps? It must have been early on, because the vast majority of what I have owned or have seen for sale over the years have been the later version. Thanks, Steve

They look like typical inland California 240Zs - low rust. I wonder if the '69 shell is still available -doesn't look like that there's much left of it; but heck, I would buy it if were closer to home!

It's been about a month now. Did you sell HLS30-06026 yet? If not, are you going to post some pictures of the car? Thanks -

Suspension bushings (OEM)-how many needed
lonetreesteve replied to PATZ's topic in Suspension & Steering
Does anyone have an updated list of the Nissan OEM 240Z suspension rubber bushings that are still available and their corresponding part numbers? Zcar Source's price of $370.00 for the package is outrageous! Thanks -
Hi Bigsuetom, I have a couple of auctions on eBay going now with the D style hubcaps that are all of the later version. Yours look to be in nice shape, so the re-chromed one would probably work best since the 2 hubcaps on the other auction need work. The re-chromed hubcap will need the gray paint on the front and a sealer or something to protect from rust on its backside. Here are the 2 links: http://www.ebay.com/itm/302111571541?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 http://www.ebay.com/itm/302110660173?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Thanks, Steve

hr369, I saw one on eBay not too long ago. I would recommend to keep checking eBay, as they seem to show up there pretty often.

$22,550.00 Good luck with the auction! -
Please tell us more about the Scarab that's near you - is it also an authentic numbered car? Do you have any pictures of the car by any chance?
-
$17 $17k is a lot more than what I expected this Scarab to sell for. I was thinking $12k at the most. With all of the rust, it's going to require tens of thousands of dollars to restore this car - perhaps $30k or more. There's no guarantee that it will be worth $50-plus when finished.
-
The Scarab sold a few days ago for $17,000.00!
-
Good question, Charles. Does anyone know of any sales of correctly restored full turnkey Scarab-built conversions in the last few years?
-
That car spent a great deal of time in Wisconsin and Minnesota and has a lot of rust. I think Charles is very close in his estimation cost to restore this car. At the time of this post, this Scarab is at $9,100.00 with 1 day and 17 hours left on the auction. My guess is that the car will end up selling for between $11k and $12k.

The seller states that he's not sure what year Z it is. One thing's for sure is it's not a 240Z - it surely looks to be a 260Z. There's a lot of good parts for only $200.00! Here's the info and some pictures since the car will probably be sold pretty quickly and the listing removed by the seller: "Not sure what year it is... Come get it this weekend! Datsun 240Z; rough but do-able non-running project with engine and transmission. No interior. Some glass is missing but supposed to be there. Bumpers are supposed to be there somewhere, you are welcome to them. Being sold as-is, where-is for parts. May have a title but it does have the DMV inspection sheet signed by DMV officer that will enable you to get a title if you choose to put it back on the road. "

Low VIN 1970 240Z "Barn Find" in Los Angeles Area

I agree with you, Charles. This car looks very solid and for an early Series I car, $5,500.00 is a bargain. -
Since the listing has been removed, here's all the info and some of the pictures on this Z that we all wish we could have purchased for the paltry sum of only $3,000.00: 1971 Datsun 240Z - $3000 (seal beach) 2nd time listing the car due to time wasters 1971 Datsun 240z. I purchased the vehicle a couple years ago from the original owner's wife with the thought of restoring it. She was selling the car because her husband had passed a while back and she had no use for it anymore. Her husband bought the car new from a dealership in San Diego. He drove the car for about 13 years and had to park it in storage due to relocation of work. He unfortunately was never able to get the car back on the road, so it sat for 30 or so years. This is an all-original, rust free, numbers matching vehicle with an extremely straight body. The motor does not turn over, but the car rolls just fine. I am selling it because I do not have the resources to get her back on the road and would like it to go to someone who appreciates these cars as much as I do. There are multiple routes you could take with this car. You could get it running and drive it as a "survivor" car, or you could do a full restoration. You can also purchase this as a clean canvas for a racecar build. The car is being sold as is. Please be able and ready with the funds to by the vehicle I don't want to waste my time or yours. No trades. No scams. I will not respond to lowball offers. If you're interested and have the money, call or text me, and come take a look and then decide if you want to make an offer. Thank you. do NOT contact me with unsolicited services or offers post id: 5702041436

It was relisted: "2nd time listing the car due to time wasters" and is still available.

Here's the link: http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/5686047075.html Darrel, a longtime member of Classic Z Cars website, found this listing and let me know about it an hour after it was listed on Craigslist today. I called the seller as soon as I read the listing, sent a text message and also sent him an e-mail, but didn't hear back from him until he sent me a text message about 5 hours later, saying he was sorry and that the car was no longer available. He also mentioned in his text that there had been a lot of interest in the car. (No surprise!) Since the car has been sold, the listing will probably be taken down soon, so I have attached some pics and also pasted the listing: Datsun 240z - $1000 (Thornton) 1970 Datsun240z VIN: HLS30-01161 condition: fair cylinders: 6 cylinders drive: rwd fuel: gas odometer: 195396 paint color: blue title status: clean transmission: manual This is a restoration project that is waiting for the right person. This is a matching number, January 1970 production, original vehicle. I am the forth owner. I have had this vehicle over 20 years. I do not have the resources or time to begin the frame up restoration work that is needed. This was my daily driver for many years. Still runs and can be driven but I have not invested much in the car for the last several years. My hope is to find someone who has the time and is wanting to enjoy the simplicity and the experience of driving these cars. Texting is probably the easiest, email will work also.
