  1. Klassic Fab has been manufacturing quality VW Bus floor replacements for years and has recently started manufacturing floor pans and frame rails, etc for 240Zs and for other vintage Japanese cars. Here's their website: https://kfvintagejdm.com/ Pictures courtesy of The 240z Guild.
  2. Hi Kats, Thank you for your response, I really appreciate it! By the way, your Z is beautiful! Steve
  3. Guys, I've been looking for a set of the D hubcaps for my '71 240Z. A guy in the San Francisco area has some for sale and has asked me to make an offer. I have attached the pictures that he emailed me. This set doesn't look quite right to me. What are your thoughts? Thanks, Steve
  4. I completely agree with you, Zed Head. This Z is a project car, even though it's a solid Arizona car, but still a non-running project that will require a lot of work. You see a lot of these grumpy, "get off my lawn" type guys like this on CL and eBay stating "no low-ball offers" and they always seem to ask to much.
  5. I found this Z on the Phoenix Criaigslist. Looks to be a solid, matching-numbers AZ project car with lots of extras including a Vintage Dashes refurbished 240Z dash, new front & rear disc brake kit and new stainless steel header and exhaust system. I don't know the owner/seller and I have not tried to contact him. Price seems a little high to me, but I'm sure the seller will listen to decent offers. Here's the link: https://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/cto/d/phoenix-1972-datsun-240z/7078006622.html Here are the details that the seller lists out about the car: "I purchased this a few years ago and just haven't had the time to work on it. I don't have to sell and I'm in no rush so don't try to lowball me with ridiculous offers because I will ignore them. I will entertain reasonable offers. So far I have replaced all the suspension bushings with polyurethane which also included replacing the rear spindle pins. If you've ever done that on a Z you know how hard they can be to remove. I also had the front suspension components powder coated and planned on doing the same to the rear but haven't gotten around to it. I have all the parts that I've removed labeled and in bags plus I took pictures as I removed parts so I can provide all the original parts and the pictures. This is definitely a project. I bought the car from an old guy in Tucson, AZ and with all the parts I'm sending with it it's definitely worth what I'm asking. I can provide more detailed pictures of the car if requested. I have a truck and would help deliver it to your house if the right deal could be reached. The car was originally white with a red interior and I planned to restore it back to that. Here's a breakdown of various components."Body: I ran a magnet over the entire body and the only place it didn't stick was behind the passenger door (can see bondo there). Otherwise it is relatively rust free from what I can tell. It's a Datsun though. The benefit here is that it appears to have spent the majority of it's life in AZ and in a garage. Paint is a crappy respray. Interior: Plastic is pretty brittle. Dash is cracked. Gauges were working other than the clock. Seats need recovered and need new carpets and headliner. It appears like the passenger floor board also has some rust but I'm not sure if it's just surface or all the way thrrough. Engine: The engine was running before I pulled it. It has matching numbers. I planned on rebuilding it even though it showed decent compression from the test I ran (I need to find the numbers I wrote down). Windows: No cracks and all are in good shape other than being a little dusty. Weatherstripping: Needs replaced IMO. Wiring: When it was running everything seemed to be fine, lights worked, signals worked, etc. Transmission: It shifted OK. My plan was to get it rebuilt though I'm not sure if it needs it. Rear end: No clunking and appeared to be operating fine. I was just going to clean it and call it good. Tires/wheels: Decent condition and tread but it was always my plan to replace them. I have the following parts that I will be including in the sale. I will potentially consider selling the car without them but my preference is to sell it altogether. Vintage Dashes Dash: This is not a dash pad but a completely brand new dash that bolts to the existing frame. $900 new ZStory Exhaust and Header: Full stainless steel and super nice. $1350 new Front/Rear Disk Brake upgrade: Purchased form Z Car Depot, 4 piston Toyota front and maxima rear disk brake conversion with parking brake plus drilled rotors, pads, lines, etc. $1200 new Misc: Lots of misc. parts like OEM rubber boots, gaskets, motor mounts. I can provide a more complete list to serious buyers if requested.
  6. Here's yet another V8 conversion with a case of ugliness: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1973-Datsun-240z/401984347719?hash=item5d98225e47:g:apAAAOSwIANd573g
  7. An update on HLS30-01032 almost 10 years since the last post: I did a Google search on HLS30-01032 and found it on IZCC's Classic Z Car Register - http://www.zhome.com/IZCC/ZRegisters/classic.htm I have also attached one of the pictures of the car that the seller posted on the original Cragslist back in 2006. VIN:HLS30 01032 Production Date:01/70 Color Body /Int:Orange/Black Orig.Eng.Number:L24-4056 Owner:John Odell City/State/Cntry:Woodland Park, CO, USA IZCC Member#:554 Comments: e-mail: johnodellmd@msn.com Date Registered:18 Aug. 09, & 3/22/10
  8. Wheels are stamped 10-1970 and the D hubcaps are the earlier version. Also includes the original spare wheel with its original Toyo tire. Seller is asking $3,500.00. Here's the link and the seller's description: https://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/pts/d/albany-datsun-240z-topy-wheels-early/7024858826.html 1970 Datsun 240Z OEM Topy steel wheels & early D hub cap wheel cover that includes spare. “Full set” I bought these wheels close to 10 years ago from a guy who bought a series 1 240z new in 1970 off the show room floor. He had the dealer pull these steel wheels off and install the common aluminum wheels. The dealer stuck these steel wheels & hub caps in a box and he put them in his attic. One day while cleaning his attic he realized he still had these wheels after all these years. The boxes were weathered when I bought the wheels but the boxes kept the wheels and caps in great condition. He even had the original lug nuts. All the wheels have zero street miles aside from the rolling off the assembly line and being loaded on and off the boat and to the dealer. One of the boxes which was the one on the top took the brunt of the weathering so one of the caps has minimal oxidation. The rest of the early style D caps are in new conditions. If you look at the spare it has the same type of wear patterns (where the wheel meets the hub) as the 4 wheels. All 5 topy (oem) wheels are matching date codes of 10/70. The hub caps are the early version where the valve stem hole lines up with the spoke. The spare tire still wears its original Toyo tire from when it left the factory with zero wear & holds air. The wheels have been sitting in my loft in new individual boxes to avoid damage and moisture. It’s not common a full set like this comes up for sale. With the prices of some Datsun 240z cars hitting six figures this full set of matching date coded TOPY wheels and early D hubcaps with spare tire with original Toyo rubber will be perfect for the collector or high end restoration.
  9. I just checked the listing again and the seller must have sold the cars, as it was deleted.
  10. The 1970 240Z's serial number is HLS30-07301 plus Three 260Zs and a ton of parts. All located in Albuquerque, NM. Here's the link: https://albuquerque.craigslist.org/cto/d/albuquerque-datsun-240z-260z/7017662011.html
  11. Check out this 1970 240Z in Syracuse, NY, asking price $6,500.00. Brian is the contact (315-263-2753). Here's the link: https://syracuse.craigslist.org/cto/d/liverpool-1970-datsun-240z-rare/7012480876.html
  12. I agree - this SoCal car should go for a good money. I also like that it's a no reserve auction.
  13. California car with original matching-numbers engine that looks to be very clean and unmolested. Here's the link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-Datsun-Z-Series-240z-Series-1-Matching-Numbers-Rust-Free/184020206032?hash=item2ad87581d0:g:W-MAAOSwTNBdvGc3&autorefresh=true
  14. I was really thinking hard about bidding on the car towards the end of the auction since it's only 5 hours south on I-25 of where I live here in Colorado. But as soon as I got ready to place the $1,100.00 bid, I just knew that my wife would kill me since I already have 4 other 240Z project cars.
  15. Mike, Please delete. This car was already posted. Sorry.
  16. Unfortunately, the owner of Denver Bumper Works sold the land and the building to a pot company and the owner retired. The new owners of the property razed the building and built new grow houses. Here's a picture that I took soon after the building was razed in July of 2014. I really miss Denver Bumper. I don't think that there are any other chrome shops here in the Denver area.
  17. I didn't realize that the early Nissan Patrols were equipped with L24 engines just as the 240Zs were. L24-107 is a super low engine number!
  18. Check this one out: https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/ctd/d/garland-1978-datsun-240z-custom-car/6947169292.html
  19. T The car is now listed on eBay. Funny thing is, he doesn't mention anything about the "original paint" this time around. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-Datsun-Z-Series/153583944431?hash=item23c25102ef:g:o~sAAOSwtEVdPlW1
  20. Three 260Zs and one 240Z located in Georgia.. Here's the link. https://nwga.craigslist.org/pts/d/blue-ridge-datsun-240z-and-260z-parts/6939694953.html "240Z comes with title, sidedrafts, and lots of rust. Not an early model. 260Zs are all restorable or excellent parts vehicles. All cars have interiors, trim, engines, etc. One 260Z is an automatic; all others are manuals. $1300 each or $1100 each if purchased in "bulk." Emails asking "Is this still available" will be ignored and set on fire. We will remove cars from yard for easy pickup."
  21. Who in the world is going to pay $5,200.00 for this piece of work?
  22. Check this one out this one out: https://denver.craigslist.org/cto/d/fort-collins-1971-datsun-240z-5spd/6939260654.html
