new OLD stock OEM oil filter
Cool, thats exactly the same as mine. So it's safe to say late 70s to early 80s?

new OLD stock OEM oil filter
I dont plan on using it, I'm afraid the old paper element will break down or something. Suprisingly the gasket on it is still soft and plyable. It says Nissan on the other side of the filter and Datsun on the side shown.

new OLD stock OEM oil filter
No date or shipping label on the box, just a chart for what it fits and a part number. All the cars it fits are listed, the newest is a 76 and up KH620. Dont know if thats a clue. Fliter has a number besides the main part number, no idea what it means but it's T1217

new OLD stock OEM oil filter
I went to the local nissan dealer to get an OEM oil filter for the 240Z, he said h had some but there were down in storage. He came back with an old drity Nissan box with a big blue oil filter in it. I didnt think it was usuable but it was so cool I paid him the $4.50 and took it with me. Nobody at zcar.com seems to know how old it might be, you guys seem to be more into this kind of thing so I figured I'd ask here.... What do you think? I'm thinking atleast 80s.

Making Mp3 **** for car stereo
I've had two JVC mp3/cd head units, burning an mp3 CD on them is/was always pretty simple. all I've ever done was orginized songs in folders, clicked create data cd and dragged what I wanted over to the program. I've used muliple pgrams including nero to do it, works the same with all of them.

To all that knew James Burgess aka "ZmeFly"
I have to admit I had my suspisions about this whole thing in the begining, I just didnt want to believe a respected long time forum member could do something like that. Looks like the zcar.com admin has known about it for sometime now, each of zmefly's 3822 posts over there were edited on may 11th of last year with the message.... "PLEASE NOTE: This posting from this ex-member James Burgess of Uniontown, PA, better known as - ZMEFLY - has been deleted or edited to protect the innocent and to prevent the continuation of erroneous information and scams on this forum!" I dont know what to think at this point.

Help with unusual header I.D.(pictures)
It was a massive vaccum leak, somehow I forgot to tighten down the intake bolts. when I put the intake on I only snugged them up untill I got all the bolts in, but somehow I forgot about it. It runs great now, the exhaust doesnt sound that great. I'm thinking a straight through muffler will cure that. I was wanting it to sound more like my straight piped 280Z, but it sounds NOTHING like it.

I'm a little over a week behind schedule but I finaly got it running. It doesnt idle but it revs real quick and smooth. I drove it around the block and it has lots of power, I accidently spun the tires pulling away from a stop sign. The exhaust sounds pretty good, I havent driven it enough to say anythign more about it. If I can get it to idle I'll be a happy little boy, right now I'm thinking vacuum leak.

15" Rewinds
I'm going to buy a set of 15x7 rewinds sooner or later, dont know if I want silver or gunmetal. I've saw pictures of a Z with the silver 15x7s at zcar.com, still looking for a picture of a Z with some gunmetal 15x7s

Help with unusual header I.D.(pictures)
It's bolted to the block and it's the same as any other except the studs/nuts have been replaced with bolts by a P.O. I didnt take them all the way out I just loosened them enough to get the intake manifold off. My goal is to have it running and driving by the end of next week, I'm going to try to have an FI intake on it by tomorrow. Thats the easy part, the main things I'm worried about it mouting all the extra stuff, the wiring and the EFI pump+surge tank. The car is in great shape inside and out it just needs a fuel system, thats why I dont want to pull the header.

Theres a bad picture of one of the two collectors. I was considering pulling it off and having it coated but I dont wanna mess with it yet, I want to drive it. Might get around to doing it this winter.

I'm doubting it's a BRE, the similarities are amazing though. I'm not 100% sure but I dont think my collector is quite as complex as yours, but I will try to get a picture of it tomorrow. The way the exhaust system is designed it splits into two pipes then Y's into one 2.5inch pipe close to the tranny crossmember. I do know one thing, it's way too much exhaust for street car with a stock N47/N42 280Z engine. But I'm going to leave it on the car, cant wait to hear how it sounds once I get it running right.

This is the header on my 240Z. I know nothing about it, it was on the car when I bought it along with a unusualy tripple carbn intake which I was told was an F.E.T. Tony D over at zcar.com seems to think it might be a moddified JDM Fujitsubo Racing header, others think it might be a BRE. I figured I'd ask here as well, you guys seem to be more into this sort of thing than the guys at zcar.com. Sorry for the crappy pictures but it's the best I can do.

Okay, I'm mad. This sympathy stuff is out the window. One way or another someone is messing with us, and it aint cool. For those who havent saw it, Delta's post about James' passing in 70-83 tech... It's been edited as well. http://www.zcar.com/forums/read.php?f=1&i=467311&t=467293#reply_467311
