  1. Easy to get to from Center City, about 1 hour and 45 minutes straight up the Turnpike and easy to get here. I graduated from Drexel University and have made the trip dozens and dozens of times. It's an easy ride, think about it and get back to me. Todd
  2. As the note says above I am turning 36 on Sunday, so the wife thought it would be cool to have a party and a car show and invite a bunch of friends over with various collector cars and hang out. Why am I posting this here? Well, if you live close enough, you are welcome to come and hang out as well. I live in Enola, PA, 17025 at 6 Elm Drive. While I own 2 Z's, a 1973 and a 1995, most of the cars will be sixties and seventies musclecars but Z's are definately welcome as well. Do a Mapquest and see how far it is for you. If you are interested in coming please drop me an email at tolejniczak@comcast.net and let me know to expect you and make sure you have the directions. Thanks, Todd

There's nothing like Parenthood to change your perspective on things! I remember when my first son was born and how I felt, then I had another and now at 7 and 3 they continue to educate and humor me daily. So far only the youngest has shown interest in cars, but I think that my oldest son will come around eventually. Speaking of initials, they both have the same, GTO. Hey what can I say, I am a musclecar fan at heart as well, GM musclecars that is, in addition to an obvious appreciation for Z's. Congratulations to you and your wife! Todd

I thought of the very same thing Carl. Maybe he never bothered to keep his information of the previous ebay bidder ID, which I believe still goes away after 30 days. Maybe he thought that the car, with it's provenance in the Z community, wouldn't need any help? Anybody besides me want to wager that when it doesn't bring any more bids or get to the magic $30,000 mark that the auction will be pulled again? I do not personally know the seller or have ever seen this car in person, so this is in no way an attack on the owner whatsoever. Obviously this is one of the "known" premier original low miles Z's in the country, and while it's true value can be debated all day long, I too believe that a lot of the value is in the low miles and that the new owner will be purchasing a car that may end up being trailered to shows and subsequently driven very little, as it has been to date, resulting in bragging rights to owning one of the nicest low mile cars in existence. With miles come stone chips, everyday wear, and other maintenance issues. In my opinion, this is one of those pieces of rolling art that because of it's value cannot truly be enjoyed by it's owner as it was originally intended to be, for the reasons listed above. Not that there's anything wrong with that. High bid is currently $24,100.00 :classic:

I saw this yesterday myself and thought how interesting. Funny thing is it probably wont crack the 25,000 mark, as the previous buyer has moved on, I guess we'll see.
  6. I am looking for a mint set of 6 spoke '83 ZX wheels for installation on my 1973 240Z. Thanks. Email me at tolejniczak@comcast.net
  7. The car looks nice and I'm sure it is a blast to drive, but aestetically, I don't care for tires that are stretched to fit the rims, in other words too narrow for the width of the rim, I don't get that. I like the concept and the execution and even the color. Nice job.

I just recently purchased my 1973 240Z and the first time I could not for the life of me get the hood to close all of the way just as you described. It wasn't like that before I opened it so I was even more baffled and upset. It turns out that the cable from the handle inside the car was hanging up and not releasing to allow the hood to close all of the way. Once I tracked it back to that and pushed the arm back in I went back out around and walla, it shut all of the way. Todd

What you're hearing is likely the throw out bearing, or input shaft bearing in the tranny that has given up the ghost. When you depress the clutch, I bet the sound ends? And with the clutch out, and in neutral it makes this whiny noise? You'll have to pull the tranny to cure the problem, and it need not be done immediately, it will last like that for a long time, although it is bothersome. Don't worry about driving the car with this condition as to damage or a chance it will leave you sit, but with all maintenance issues, sooner is better than later. Think about your friends statement or thought about the sound being a u joint or something. How could it make a sound when it is not turning? The driveshaft or in this case half shafts are not moving when the car is still and therefore could not be the source of the problem. I hope you get it fixed to your satisfaction. Todd

Thanks for the reply about the "red" car I inquired about. I Here's a question for thought. First off I think it's cool that you went ahead and bought this car and all with the sequential vin numbers and all, the fact that they are identical color combos is interesting, and I don't mean for this to sound harsh or silly. If you find or could find number 28, would you buy it too? (Maybe somebody has 28 already I don't know) and would you still buy 28 if it was also Green and Butterscotch and identical in every aspect as 26 and 27? Just wondering. I can appreciate that these cars are going up in value, especially since I just bought one, but to say that the <100 cars are more valuable or bringing more $ than factory restored ones is reaching a bit and I think absurd. Gets back to the "I own this vin tag hanging on the wall" comment posted earlier, to which I say so what. I look forward to following your progress as you resurrect this car and can respect your wishes to do so. I tend to look at some things in a more dollars and sense fashion, but that's me.

Congrats on your purchase Chris. What's the deal with what looks like an orange Z next to the Nova Concours photo in your attached pics? Todd

Here's the linkie for this beauty... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6187&item=2483550741&rd=1 I don't believe this car will meet the reserve based on the pics at the top from Hemmings where he wanted $18,500, IMHO. Todd
  13. Didn't know where else to post this. Went to the aforementioned Z show today and had a wonderful time. I have some pics if anyone is interested but not sure where they belong either so here's a quick sample. There was a good mix of cars, around 65-75 I believe. I'm sure some from here will recognize a few of the cars, well I'm not sure actually but still there were alot of nice, and very clean Z's of all ages and eras represented. I am not a member of the club but learned of the show last week, pre-registered and had a nice time. They do a great job behind the scenes production with DJ'd music, announcements, raffles, giveaways, etc. The weather could have been better for sure with mist and persistent light rain until mid morning with a car I don't drive in the rain to begin with. If a moderator is interested in listing the event under "2004 events" I'd be happy to upload the remainder of the photos. Todd
  14. Just yesterday I picked up a set of bumpers for my 1972 Buick Gran Sport at the Carlisle, PA Ford Show. I ordered them at the Spring Carlisle show and they brought them along this time. They do nice work and straighten and do a nice job. Their name is Tri City Plating in Tenn. You can find them on the web. For both bumpers I paid $700.00 and will get $200.00 back when I bring them my cores. If you live near there I would recommend checking them out. They do the Copper Nickel Chrome show plating process. Todd
  15. That is one seriously nice looking Z. I love the perfect stance and it looks clean clean clean! Todd
