  3. This site has many Z commercials on it Just click on the ".mpg" link, then on the next page, click on ".mpg's" again. Not sure if the site you mention has all of the ones on this site or not.

Smokey, see my post in the "Wife or GF helping with your Z" Thread. MAybe you need a helper like that depicted in the "My Mechanic" attachment. Might help you on both fronts.
  5. Your second picture shows significant rust behind the wheel well, just barely forward of the rocker panel. With that much rust visable to the outside, I'd bet your going to be needing to replace the rocker panels and more on this puppy. As for value, and wether it is a "Black Pearl Edition", get the VIN of the car and check ZHome.com to see if it is one of those cars. Otherwise I think it's just a 280Z 2+2, and nothing special at all. A Typical Rust Belt car from my CA eyes.

  7. IF it was an ALL Steel body modification I'd like the car (except for the color of the paint.....Ferrari Red is the only way to go for me).
  8. Well, the link that I had for them is now dead, but in doing a Google Search I came up with THIS PAGE . I hope it helps you. No information, but there are Phone Numbers. I "think" it is the same company.
  9. First off, I have no first hand experience with the ST springs, but I remember a few folk on the 240z.org mailing list saying that their opinion was that the ST springs were too stiff for street usage. AIR, they lower the car 1-1.5 inches when purchased. If you cut 1.5 coils off they will lower the car quite a bit more, I'd think. You may want to contact ST and ask their Customer Service Department what the spring rate is on their springs and what you'll wind up with if coils are removed. They should be able to give you some idea of what you're getting into here. Good Luck! Carl
  10. Your leak could be at the valve cover, the head gasket, the oil presure sender, or the oil pump itself, or the oil pan. Oil is thick, so what comes out of the engine will take some time to drip off of the block, thus when the engine is off you will still see some drips appear under the car for a period of time. My oil pressure sender was leaking and I found oil drips on the ground under the car FOR DAYS after replacing the unit. The leak had stopped, but there was still oil coating the side of the engine that took days to finally finish dripping off of the engine. Your best bet is to clean the engine throughly so that you can then see where "FRESH" oil appears. Then you will know where the leak is coming from, and you can address the issue. Good Luck!
  11. I've not tried to paint outer body panels that have been POR'ed, but POR15 is (to borrow a phrase) "Rhino-Tough". You can scuff the surface, but as for gettign it smooth enough to apply a nice finish, that would be difficult. You'd have the best chance of success when the POR has been applied by thinning it a bit and spraying it. (Read the 2nd paragraph of EScanlon's post)
  12. James: I'm so sorry to hear of your Father's passing. What a horrible shock to be hit with out of the clear blue. You have my sincere and deepest sympathies. I lost my father 7 years ago, and though the hurt passes to a degree I still miss him very much. As you said, we all should stay in contact, often, with the ones we love. Though we sometimes don't comprend until too late........we cannot count on "tomorrow" to always be there for us. "Tomorrow" is a gift to be appreciated, never counted upon. PS To anyone who isn't as close to their family as they once were, take a moment to reflect on how you would feel in James place. Then make an effort to put the past behind you and get back in touch with your family. There may come a time when you want to do so, but it is too late.

I've done this before, and it works IF you can find a line that is very close to the length that you need. Otherwise you end up with extra "loops" or other bends to take up the extra length. You just need to take lots of time and care to get the bends in the correct location AND of the correct radius. If you bend too far, you are screwed. BTW, the wrench size required for the fittings MAY NOT be the same as what came from the factory. The generic line I bought required 11 mm wrench where the factory stuff used 10mm wrenches. If you are doing a "restoration", that would not be acceptable.

  15. Same thing as Fuel injection does, only less accurately. They meter fuel and atomize the fuel into the air that is coming into the engine (creating an explosive air/fuel mixture) to be burned to create the power of the engine.

Hey everyone, Victor is look'in for Camel-Toe!
  17. Rule #1: "Vessels containing liquid will empty if there is an opening for it to do so." Hopefully, you found this out while you still had the driveshaft in your hands and were able to quickly stick it back into place to stem the flow. (?)

Oh, BTW; there are places that can make brake lines in either OEM steel or stainless steel. www.classictube.com is one, and www.inlinetube.com is another. I'm having some made by Classic Tube right now

I don't know about the other lines, but for 70 to 5/72 240Z's the "RIGHT" Rear Brake Bridge (from the Hose to the Wheel Cylinder) is definitely NOT available from Nissan, or Vic Brit. Already tried to get one, and "NLA" is the response. MSA lists it, but I have not contacted them. I'm switching to the 6/72 to 76 style of RWC since they are FAR cheaper to replace.

That looks just as good, though for MY taste, I'd prefer a different color car. ( but I see how the current color works with the blue on the flag)
  22. Bambikiller240 replied to Datzun76's post in a topic in Open Chit Chat
Well, since the zapped you, they should do the same to him. No difference between the two IMHO. HOWEVER, I wish they'd leave you both alone. There SHOULD be bigger issues for eBay to deal with than this! Like actual fraud by buyers and sellers who decieve other eBayers. They are being a royal PITA!

Datsun76: Did they say why they were stopping you from selling your item? I'm assuming that the art is something that you created, right? If it is the Datsun logo's that they are concerned about then the other seller should be stopped also. But, I'm suspecting (and I certainly could be wrong) that it is the eBay MORAL police that are the issue here. Not that I think there is anything wrong with your product. I actually like the design. BTW, I bought one of the other guy's shirts and it is very nice. I'm glad I took the chance on buying it.

Glad the car is back home with relatively little loss. Did cops find any fingerprints or anything that might lead to the theives?
