  2. Great pointers from jmortenson. No, I don't set out cones. I don't prefess to be a "real" autoX'er anymore (haven't competed in years), but it is all about car control and a good part of that is being completely familiar with how your car responds to the driver inputs.
  3. My local County Fair property has a nice large paved parking lot. I can usually get a 1/2 hour of practice in before someone hears the tires squealing and comes to see what is going on. Then there are the times I go out in the country in early mornings and exercise the car and myself (at less than 10/10ths of course).
  4. E & B: Nobody made me king, but neither did anyone make you two kings. You are as entitled to your opinion as I am, however I will continue to speak mine whether you like it or not, so GET OVER IT. Don't ever think you are accomplishing anything by telling me what YOU think I should do. Don't get me wrong, you still have "my permission" to whine and to wizz & moan (just like me), but know that I won't be paying attention to you. Yes, it is. I have more than one point of view, though I chose initially to not mention my distaste for THAT store . Had THawk mentioned another store I would STILL have found the post in question to be pointless after it being dormant for 7 months. WTF are you talking about? You have stated in the past that you are a former member of the US Air Force. Anyone who's been in the military (even 1Bravo 6 in Australia) is fully aware that Brasso is a product sold WORLD WIDE, so don't try to muddy the waters with with THAT crap! It's a lie and YOU ( and I, and 1 Bravo 6, any other current or former servicemen, and many other people) know it! http://www.design-technology.org/brasso.htm "Brasso was introduced into Britain in 1905. It still remains the best-known metal polish in the world. A representative of a company called Reckitt and Sons visited Australia at the turn of the century and found that a a liquid shoe was proving to be more popular than the paste type of metal polish sold in the U.K. He brought a sample of the liquid back home which eventually became the household metal polish that we know today. The Brasso recipe consists of a siliceous polishing powder suspended in an ammonium soap jelly and dispersed in white spirits. This is a product that has barely changed since the turn of the century. In fact the distinctive tin has only changed once throughout the last hundred years and that was during the Second World War in 1941, when the tin had to be replaced by a glass bottle because of the shortage of metal............. Looks like YOU think that someone made you king. WRONG again! But go ahead a rant on, it gives me something to laugh at.
  5. following link give me an error "You do not have permission to view this gallery."
  6. Exactly where I'm coming from. No use adding another nickle to the Walton fortune, espicially after all they have done for small business owners, workers, and towns throughout America.
  7. Not disputing what you found on your car, Andrew; but there are different tie-rod ends for 1970 Z's. This can be verified in the Nissan microfiche. Some owners when faced with replacing tie-rods but not wanting to replace steering knuckles and ball joints used a tapered reamer to enlarge the hole in the front of the steering knuckles to accept the later tie-rods.
  8. I've had difficullties D/L .pdf files here previously. Haven't figured it out, but anyway, I used IE6 to D/L this particular .pdf file yesterday and it worked for me.
  9. T, I know that is so. Maybe you looked in the wrong places, but Brasso is as common as.......well, Brass and/or any other metal you'd care to polish.
  10. I was just curious. Sorry, My bad.
  11. Rob, send me a PM with your email adress in it and I will forward the file to you. I just downloaded it.
  12. Same as if THawk had resisted "show & tell" about his shopping trip, the thread would have stayed comfortably buried until something important could be added to it, or it could be of some use to someone. Try laying down for peace and see where it gets you. Guess you haven't been studying history lately!
  13. Yes, they are. From what I've heard they are almost impossible to find anymore. It has been discussed somewhere on this website (several times) recently EDIT: It is the diameter of the posts on the Ball-joints and Tie-rod ends that are smaller. This means that the corresponding holes in the steering knuckles are smaller (on the 70 versions) than on the 71-73 versions. One way or another, the tie-rods, ball joints and steering knuckles all need to match.
  14. Any chance you could post the file here? The link doesn't seem to work (for me).

Hmmm, now I'm annoyed that I bought OEM 240Z D/S bolts, nuts, and washers on eBay a few months ago. I'll have to add those bolts/nuts to my JY shopping list.
  16. Well, since no one asked where Brasso could be purchased (AND it had already been stated that it was available in the housewares section of a store IMO it provided basically nothing new. (except to those who were too lazy to read it the first time it was posted) To morons everywhere......you don't have to go to Wal-Mart to find Brasso. It is sold in many, many stores that sell household cleaners, polishes, etc. Dave: I didn't know that YOU considered yourself a moron. I'm Sorry to hear that. I gave you credit for more than that.
  17. They are available still? Do you have a Part Number? What do they cost? I thought they were NLA.

Never seen bolts with heads like that on any of my 240Z's, but the idea makes sense.
  19. Shameless plug? Are you the Warren at All Z-Parts mentioned above?
  20. But the regurgitation consisted of: So it must be asked....... What value to anyone did dredging it up again provide to anyone? We now know the itinerary of your shopping trip, and we know that a common metal polish is sold at a big box retailer at a low price. Hardly earth shattering news to anyone in the western hemisphere.
  21. Carl, regurgitating a 7 month dead thread is nothing around here. Sometimes a thread that's been putrified for 2 years or more will get exhumed for no apparent logical reason. Sometimes we can get 8oz Coke bottles around here. Usually themed for the Reno, NV Hot August Nights celebration.
  22. You won't find Kroil on shelves. Mail or Internet order only. http://www.kanolaboratories.com/
