  1. The petrol tax was used (allegedly) for infrastructure (roads, highways, bridges, etc). If this comes to pass the "petrol" tax will be eliminated, and replaced by a "road use" tax (based on the number of miles driven). Reason being that with higher miles per gallon, and alternative fuel vehicles the cents per gallon petrol tax no longer will bring the necessary funds to maintain/replace/improve the roads. I'm sure there is a little "big brother" in it also. The government is starting to encourage people to have "chips" implanted in our bodies, claiming benefits to include storage of medical info, identity, and eventually financial info (no more debt cards, just wave your arm past a scanner).
  2. Hey, the Host Hotel could be ChrisA's house!

Those on eBay don't look like "early" 260Z ones to me, they look more like 280Z bumpers in my opinion. I wouldn't put 260Z ones on my car either, but..........................

    I don't know
  5. Depending on condition, Slotted Aluminum wheels (Western, Ansen, Appliance, Shelby, etc) typically sell for between $100 and $250 on eBay from what I've seen. But, I haven't been watching much for the last 6 mos.

Definitely NOT 70-72 240Z Bumpers! FWIW, the 1973 240 had 5 mph bumpers w/ shock absorbers, but NOT the style bumper shown in that auction. Another case of someone either trying to rip people off, or uneducated in the Z lifestyle. You cannot delete messages, only moderators can do that.
  7. There is no code for transmission in the VIN for 240Z's. (You didin't say what kind of "Z" you are getting, so I'm guessing it's a 240Z)
  8. I know this has been discussed, so a search using "L24" and "weigh" should retrieve the info for you.
  9. To Spray it safely, you also need sphisticated breathing apparatus.
  10. Vic British sells round plastic covers that are secured by the headlamp trim ring, if all you want is to protect the headlight from pebbles, etc. Rather inexpensive also. They do not enclose the "sugar scoop".
  11. Just so everyone understands......they are talking 280Z springs. Nissan OEM 240Z "standard" springs have been NLA for quite some time.

If it was indeed "perfect", IMO that was a LOW price for a "Nissan NOS bumper".
  13. No Worries here, ROOPZ. The ones you mentioned are definitely low profile. Way Low.
  14. You haven't scene my garage! (Many of my vices are located in the garage)
  15. Yes, I am, and Yes, you aren't too far behind me. But I hadn't forgotten about 30, 35, 40, 45 series tires; it's just that I consider 50 series too low for a comfortable ride in MY Z. My idea of comfort stops at 60 series, so......Ya, I am showing my age, and the condition of the streets where I live. I cannot afford to replace wheels (or visit the Chiropractor) every time I encounter a pothole.
  16. No. Mine is 2 hole, production date 11/71 The Thermostat Housing bolts to the Cylinder Head with 2 bolts on my car. The Thermostat Housing Cover, or Top is attached to the Housing with 2 bolts from 1970 thru 2/73 production dates. After that, they switched to the 3 bolt Cover or Top.
  17. If you read the below attached thread ALL THE WAT THROUGH (2 pages), I believe that you will find all of the info that you need. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5209&highlight=Metric+Bolts The "search" engine is your friend.
  18. same as head bolt. 10mm by something IMO, don't use regular grade bolts, get hardened bolts. (Note, Hardened Metric sized bolts are NOT "Grade 8", they use a different numbering system)
  19. Will: I was told by the West Coast POR Distributor that Marine Clean and Metal Ready application should be the last steps before application of th POR15. Anything you do to the surfaces after the application of Metal Ready will remove much of the Zinc Phosphate coating left by the Metal Ready. I'm not meaning to "correct" you, just trying to help by mentioning the instructions I was given when did my floor pans. You can check on this info with the POR-15 Store Representative, Toll Free at..............."(800) 457-6715 if you have any further questions or need additional products or information".
  20. Good Call. A Vice is very handy for this job. Otherwise you are wrestling the parts all over the bench or the shop floor.

    ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Duh
  22. Gary: There are small tubes (located in each runner of the manifold) that stick into the exhaust area of the head. On the outside of the ex. manifold the "Air Galley" screws into each runner. At the forward end of the Air Galley a Check Valve is attached. From there you get into the small hoses, T fitting, A/B valve, etc. I may have a spare smog pump. PM if you are interested.

I love it! "No Reserve", but it has a $19K starting bid. No Smog Equipment, Wrong Mirrors, 125,000 miles, Fuel Guage and Clock don't work, and needs a Tune Up. Who wouldn't pay $19K for it? :stupid:
  24. Factory Headers? What are these?
  25. Bambikiller240 replied to Go240Zags's post in a topic in Wheels & Brakes
You are correct (for N.A. market cars) This is another example of someone with very little knowledge spreading fertilizer around. I'm not even sure they are Minilites, Look more like Panasports to me.
