  1. The first step I'd suggest is to clean ALL of the connectors to the headlights (up front at the bottom of the radiator support) I doubt it will healp with the switch issue, but it could make a big difference in the brightness of the headlights, and may also help with the one light that doesn't go to BRIGHT. As for the switch issue, I'll leave that to others to advise since I'm not a real wiz at electrical. But it sounds like it could be the "brights" switch is dirty/carbonized.

Doesn't the 1991 240Z have a Mr. Nuke "Flux Capacitor" for a Power Supply?

    OK, Thanks.
  4. Gary; Would you mind sending the pictures to me also? I believe that you have my email. Thanks.
  5. The book you are referring to is the "How to Modify Datsun Engines & Chassis", and your info is correct regarding the two versions. The original book has 240 pages and was published in 1973, the Reprint has only ~180 pages. Just keep your eye on eBay. Two years ago I found an original HTMDE&C book (in extremely good & clean condition) being auctioned by a "book seller" (that is a person who sells books, not a Datsun fanatic) who listed it with a opening bid of $10 and a Buy-It-Now of $12.50 + $4 shipping. Obviously, I snagged it immediately. It had only been listed for about 50 minutes when I bought it. The Frank Honsowetz authored "How to Modify Datsun/Nissan Engines" book is a completely different book.

How many "breats" can you offer Chris for his car?
  7. There are several "motor" books which are useful to have. This is one of them. As the title says it covers a variety of modifications. There is another book called How to Rebuild Datsun/Nissan OHC Engines", which is more geared to stock rebuilds (and very minor modifications).
  8. I don't know, but you should see the 2 PM's I got from one of them.
  9. Sorry Bob, I didn't know you weren't familiar with the PM (Private Message) system. carl

Took a long time to D/L on a Dial up. 34.5 Megs. Pretty cool video though. Only a little corny, but good editting and overall I'd give it a high 7 or an 8 out of 10. Thanks

Do you know if they are interchangable? or ? ? ? ?

Let's see now, a ZX, a BMW, AND a Toyota? Quite the sinner, aren't you? Just kidding you, Robert. Carl

Though there are many "events" ocurring in my garage (both sides of the garage), even I don't wear my CZCC shirt in there. Stains, lots of stains to be worried about......... Will, You don't happen to know the Dry Cleaner that Clinton used, do you?

Robert: Hope you you got the response you were looking for. I'd hate to disappoint you. Carl PS: Did you finish working on your Windshield Wiper system?

It would have been better to have used a ZX club T-Shirt as a polishing rag on your 240Z. No one would have cared about that (except people like me who would have praised you!).
  16. 1. OK 2. not necessarily, but OK 3. Panasports do look nice. Too bad everybody and their brother has them. 4 Oh, so you are one of those "bad boys". 5. Free is always good, but opinions differ. They are too RICE for me. I'd sell them and get something else.
  17. Mike I suggested he PM the link to this thread, not to ask the question in the PM. Phred will share the info.
  18. Wait a minute! In your previous post (which you have since editted) you said you didn't like the wheels, that in your opinion they didn't look good. Now it's all sweetness and light??? How about a little honesty when posting. Can't have it both ways!
  19. PM "Phred" with the link to this thread. He can advise you. I'd think that what Frank Honsowetz says is straight information (he has a long history with Nissan and at one time headed their IRL engine program), but I'd wait until you talk to Phred before "whacking" on the crank anymore. From your description of the project, a day or so lost here doesn't seem like it's going to hurt anything (at least not as much as ruining your crankshaft would hurt) JMO,

I can see lugnuts now, but nothing else.
  21. How many wires in the pigtail? What color code is/are the wire(s)? What type of connector(s) on this pigtail? bullet? square? spade? mfg date of car? picture?
  22. Bambikiller240 posted a post in a topic in Wheels & Brakes
Those are the ones I was talking about in Post #2. You'll be hard pressed to find decent aluminum wheels any cheaper. Weight is reasonably light too (13 lbs for the 14" X 7"). I have a set in boxes waiting for my car.
  23. Bambikiller240 posted a post in a topic in Wheels & Brakes
Oh good, I'm not the only one who can't see them.

I wonder if Panasport sells those wheels Chromed, or if the buyer sent them out to be pimpified?
  25. Bob M: You may want to send a PM to our member "EScanlon" regarding POR'ing the rails. IIRC he had a way of applying the POR inside of panels. In any event, he has experience with wolding in panels and floorpans, and applying POR. I am sure he can advise you as to the best procedures. Carl
