I installed a T5 in my -73 in 1987. I built a new tranny X-member from square tubing. I used a 280ZX Turbo driveshaft and had it shortened and balanced. I changed the diff input flange and heated and bent the shifter. I moved the engine 20 mm backwards and tilted it another 10 mm to the right at the same time. Third gear went with a bang after about 10,000 km's. The current owner of my Z might have the parts somewhere. I think he will use an RB engine and a stronger gearbox in it. The T5 is much nicer to use compared to the FS5C71B but the 5:th gear problem becomes 3:rd gear problem. Also the T5 is wider so changing the cluth without removing the engine is a P.I.T.A. /Thomas
  3. FYI RLS30-000013 and -000014 were the last S30 to be officially imported to Sweden. Both were red with the special headlamp cleaning device required by law. #13 was in an accident about 10 years ago and was scrapped. #14 still exist. It's had the same owner for over 20 years. It was modified with T-bird taillights the last time I saw it I think 1991. ///Thomas

A bit off topic here but in a previous post mentioned the spare parts situation for older European Fords. The central parts warehouse in Cologne (Köln), Germany was destroyed in a fire 1977. Thomas
  5. Hi, This is my first posting and I am the seller of the Silvia. I had some wild ideas but this time I felt a bit guilty cutting up and modifying this one. I got a phone call from Mr Goertz about 3-1/2 years ago as it had come to his knowledge that I had a Silvia. He was joking about everything as usual and told me to hurry up with the restoration as "I'm old and I might die any day now, so fix up the car and show it to me ASAP". As for the price for this car. I am selling it at what I paid for the car plus freight and registration. I paid more for the shipping from Australia than I paid for the car there. I would ask you mates in Australia to please help Symon sort this one out. He need a few parts for the car to complete it. For my own plans I have made fibreglass molds of almost everything on the body and maybe I might build a replica as a convertible using BMW M3 (3.0, 286 hp) engine and drivetrain, with my own backbone chassis instead of the FairLady Roadster frame used on the original. As Jan wrote in his reply I am a bit weird (but so is he as he bought my 240Z a few years ago). I hope Symon can pick up the car before August. I need that garage for one more BMW and the money for some Ferrari parts ;-) ///Thomas
