  1. After we pulled it out of the garge it sat outside for 6 weeks before I could move it to my garage. In that time one of the goats got free and climbed on the roff ! Yes it left hoof prints but since it getting a full resto no big deal. I could have shot that goat though.
  2. I have found a hint of "yellow or gold' in one spot behind a panel, I though maybe that was a goofy primer color or maybe the car was a taxi at one point ! I have not started pulling the car down . I need to research and take photos of everything and finish another project before I start this one. By this time next year I should have it stripped to the shell. Im going to need alot of help with details, I have never done an import.
  3. what color were they primed in?
  4. This is the pic when I pulled it out of the barn it was stored in. I know the car was repainted at one time but my understanding is the same color as original. Its not as dark as it appears in the picture, I do have the original wheels and caps. It does have a header on it but that was installed after my father picked it up. Oh by the way the only reason he bought it was to drop a 327 in it! I didnt even know he still had it until a couple years ago. I though he sold it then I found out it was in the back of his barn so I went to pic it up. He also has a 280Z engine with 3 miles on it. The car was dropped off a transport and totaled out on the way to the dealer. He was able to pick up the engine for a few dollars "out the back door". I was going to go over this engine and stick it in the Fairlady and keep the original safe .
  5. Thanks guys , I have worked on other cars for years, have a pro street car, a vette and a few others but I plan on keeping the z stock . I has the 5 speed and fully carpeted. It still has the original drivtrain but the engine was rebuilt in the late 70s, I have all the paper work on the rebuild. Its original color is plum. As for the miles Im not sure. The first owner pulled the speedo to put a MPH unit in its place but I still have the KPH unit. I guess I could sit down and do some converting. The vin is S30- 00144 ( sorry I added to many 0s)
  6. That make some sence. I have a 65 Nova that was first title in 1964 but it still states it as a 1965 model. I guess it depends on the state. The first owner of the car ( he passed away.) He purchaed it in Japan and sold it to my father, it been in my family ever since.
  7. I was wondering about 1969 . I know the original owner and he purchaed it in japan and sold it to my dad years later. It has always been titled as a 1969. Ill try a link tomorrow , I was trying to post the title with the vin and date.
  8. Im sorry. Im new and posted this in another section but maybe you guys can help. I picked up a Fairlady , serial number 000144. Its titled as a 1969. I understand about the 500 240s that were US bound after a short production run but were did the Fairlady fit in? Since the 240 were run at the end of 1969 did they run the Fairladys first?? Are their any 240s titled as 1969 cars?
  9. NovaSS posted a post in a topic in Body & Paint
I came across car number 000144 ( 1969 Fairlady) that is going to need some body work. My problem is its right hand drive and needs the frame rail under the battery replaced. Does anyone know if the right hand/ left hand drive frames rails inter change? Everything else is in place but has been sitting and needs a complete resto. I sure Im going to have to find a doner or start fabricating.
