I did actually take a look at industrial units, but for a 3 month lease, it was going to cost me $7.5K + electricity.. would rather spend that on paint so unfortunately we are reduced to hand tools.. it is okay, it just makes it a little slower and more relaxing (mind you spent a lot of today swapping over the engine subframe and front suspension between the cars.. i am well over the soft brake line connectors!). I have been thinking of keeping both, but unfortunately i just don't have the room (got the z stashed away at my grandparents, and short of sending it 5hrs into the country i am out of garage space). I am not sure what i would do if anything bad happened to this car, way to much time and effort spent on it congrats on selling the R33 for more, i am yet to sell a car that i actually make any money on.. good to hear that it does happen for some! Apparently there is a skyline event (can't remember the name, it may have been the nationals) in 2012 hosted in sydney.. the car WILL be complete by then, hopefully the Z will almost be ready for that too! The Z should be super easy compared to the 240K, as i will already have everything tried, tested and sorted out!.
  2. i just sent him a message to see if he is planning on making a FG bonnet .. one day it WILL happen..
  3. Hi Mate, Shame to hear hope you get back on your feet again soon out of interest, how much you looking for it and what gt-r parts do you have? thanks Kent
  4. Hi Guys, stumbled across this over at viczcars, very clean 240K sedan! and on historic rego plates http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,7295.0.html straight out of a time machine!
  5. Hi guys, todays JNC features a video of a japanese tv show segment with a 2000GT-EX speeding through the streets.. as soon as they get in the car and starting speeding through the streets, there is a shot of the car overtaking a van at 1:16, it looks very much like the car has a naca style duct on the bonnet http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/blog/2010/07/09/friday-video-c210-skyline-turbo-vs-bomb/ I spent a little time googling but couldn't get a clear picture to see if they were standard, thoguht i would throw it out to the brain trust it might be an interesting addition to the 240K if / whenever we finally get CF/FG bonnets made Kent

Unfortunately quite slow, short of picking up a rotisserie the last couple of months have been written off with various things happening. The neighbours have been making false allegations to the council as well which isn't helping the motivation any (hey, we even get in trouble when the other next door neighbour pulls out a drill!), so all bodywork and any thing major is at a stand still. Against better judgement, i am looking at moving all my bits and pieces into another car (which i just picked up, so far it is pretty straight and "granny spec") to try and lower the end cost on bodywork etc. but it means i am effectively starting from scratch bodywise (yet again ). Once i find a decent body guy in Sydney to do the small rust repairs and the wheel arches again and then a place to get it sprayed at, i hope to really start moving on the project (theoretically i will then have 90% of the stuff to complete it). My current shell, i will look at either putting all the original parts back in and storing it for later on, or selling it sometime in the future... just depends on the demand i guess.. having said that though, i would prefer to get onto the 240Z next rather than another 240k.

Hi Guys, just came across the following on ebay, not original, but looks to be an ok replacement (certainly the best i have seen) http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Datsun-240K-C110-pillar-mount-antenna-NEW-/110546284289?cmd=ViewItem&pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19bd126f01 4 left (i just grabbed one as a spare) Kent
  8. The racing jacket is (i believe) the fibreglass headlight covered grill with the big mouth fitted to the works race C110

are you just after anyhandbrake? or a good one? i may have a used one stashed away (can't remember if i took it out of the parts car or not before it went to the scrap)
  10. nikkid, please list the parts on here first, all the 240k enthusiests would appreciate it
  11. i managed to twist up the fuel lines ok, the bender worked ok.. it did the job, but only just. I found that the metal strip that attaches the 2 levers together was too thin and bent very easily (reducing the leverage).. if it was a bit thicker it would have been fine. I bent up the lines to be similar to the factory return, but it will need some final adjustments by hand when the lines go back on the car (just to get the contours right) again, the pipe cutter was ok, it eventually cut the pipe, but it took a good five minutes of rolling it around the pipe, and tightening the adjuster (really needs a bigger adjuster to get more leverage)
  12. and somebody bought it hope it is better underneath than it looks
  13. Hi Brian, great to see you back on here! just over a week to go! I would love to grab a copy of the RB26 wiring diagram, it would definately save me a couple of hours work
  14. not really, i have only had them on temporarily to move the car around with the calipers on. i the car is still in a close state to what it was in the picture. I decided on the 16's to make sure that i had enough caliper clearence with my calipers.. as you can see here: I am not sure i would even fit 15" wheels. Though that is with a 296mm (or maybe it was 310mm i will have to check) rotor
  15. ver nice find, is that for the RB25det box or the rb25de? (det box is bigger, though not sure about longer) sure beats paying $1k to have one made up
  16. i don't, but next time i pull the car out (hopefully this weekend, weather permitting), i will stick them back on and try to get some for you.
  17. i will let you know how it is once it arrives and i give it a go..
  18. i grabbed my pipe from my local auto parts shop - peps auto (but found an online website selling it.. i think i paid a lot more for mine: https://www.americanautos.com.au/cgi-bin/fccgi.exe?w3exec=aap.control&formname=category&newform=groups&option=070e&session=15061167073467) i have seen the spring ones before but wasn't sure how well they would work in tight 90 degree curves, i was thinking of trying one of these next: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/3-1-TUBE-BENDER-Pipe-Curving-Pliers-Brake-Fuel-Line-/250633765351?cmd=ViewItem&pt=AU_Building_Materials&hash=item3a5aefc1e7
  19. are you looking at making your own lines or have them made up? i ended up buying a roll of 5/16" (i think) pipe, but i am yet to find a decent (and cheap) pipe bender to make it up bought a cheap one from super cheap (has a bar that bends it over a roller), but that was rubbish and just bent the pipe.
  20. here's my 16" wat's, although bad photo's of them on the car http://www.project240k.com/2006/07/rs-watanabes-arrive
  21. rocky auto ? I got mine from Stewart Wilkins (http://www.swmotorsport.com/).. it looks like it was off the shelf (complete with bushes) so i presume it is used on other cars too (maybe 510's?).. but i am sure if you rang them (probably quicker response than email) they would be able to send you one. there is a pic of it on: http://www.project240k.com/2006/09/brakes-and-drivetrain-back-from-swr-motorsports
  22. unfortunately not yet, we are still at 4 (5 if you take 2), but i did email him "remind" him that we are all ready and willing as soon as he has the time. From what i gathered, he needed to clear out his workshop first (i new it was going to take time). I sent him through pictures of my bonnet to make sure it was suitable (and to give him an idea of the size) and he seemed fine with it. he hasn't worked in fibreglass in a commercial sense for while, so he wouldn't even guess at a ball park figure for me. I will keep reminding him, but i don't want be a pain Kent

that is awesome, can you give me a ballpark figure on what it cost? sounds like a better idea than buying a generic painless type wiring kit and shoe horning that in.
  24. khughes replied to KID-K's topic in 240K Skyline
oh, while i think of it.. when you wired up the car, any chance you kept the diagram and could post it up (pretty please!!!)? would be keen to find out what you did with the ignition and powering the ECU during the start.

Hi Mate, fantastic work.. i had forgotten how awesome it looks in black and with the integrated flares! Any news on the GT-R taillight surrounds? (i know i said i wanted the black gel coat before.. but would much prefer the chromed ones now i think about it!). on a side note, not sure if your interested, but i am trying to get the some action happening on the fibreglass/carbon bonnets http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?p=325646#post325646
