does anyone here live in Iowa?
Hi Guys I am hoping that someone can do me a huge favour. I am looking for anybody who lives near a place called West Newton (50208) in Iowa (i hope this is central america ) basically (i am in australia), i ordered some parts from a "performance parts" online shop (with a storefront in west newton), and after 3 months of waiting and good communication with them, they are no longer answering emails, and the phone number goes to a answering machine (and nobody ever calls me back). I am not feeling very good about the situation, and i was hoping somebody wouldn't mind dropping in and seeing if they are still there, and what is actually happening.. i hope that this will get them off their asses If you do live near here, can you please send me a pm, you would be doing me a HUGE favour! my wheels arrived today!
i just got confirmation that the finish fee was $56 for 4 wheels.. so the wheels would be $2284 you can see why i wanted them finished at the factory

my wheels arrived today!
Thanks guys, Miki, my supplier, has contacted watanabe for me, and watanabe admit they did stuff up the order. their suggested remedy is to refund me the AU$56 (per wheel i am sure) special finish charge and send me a free watanabe sticker!! As i am pretty stuck on the idea that the wheels need to have polishes rims, this is unacceptable to me, so Miki is trying to get them to agree to pay the remainder of the cost if i get them fixed up here. My other option (and to be honest the one i think will work out for the best, for all concerned), is to sell the wheels to somebody here for the price i paid for them (minus the finishing fee of course).. so basically you get a brand stinkin new set of 16" watanabe's with the correct KPGC110 offset, they are already landed here in sydney, so you just have to pick them up (or Australia post should be able to move them). I do need to know very urgently though if anyone wants them, as Miki and watanabe are waiting my reply. The wheels would cost you $2340 minus the refund i recieve (probably $224). That is for the 4 rims, and 4 valve stems and watanabe valve caps.. oh and you can have the watanabe sticker too Yes they are very expensive for a 16" wheel, but they are damn light, and chances of these offset's coming up 2nd hand is .... well... more chance of meeting santa clause really.. PM me if you are interested, but you will need to move very quickly on these, i need my rims for when i get my big brakes put on in august (and it takes atleast 1.5 months for watanabe to make them)

my wheels arrived today!
thanks wedgey, that is not too far away at all! at this stage i am still waiting back from japan on what is the best course of action (either send them back or get them fixed at their expense), but to be honest i would prefer them to go back to watanabe to be done properly. Having said that though there have been a few people pm'img me about buying them from me, if anyone is interested in them, you are certainly more than welcome to the wheels, there won't be any discounts though, you would have to pay what i paid for them (and i will basically order a new set).. the only advantage for you is that they are here now in sydney.... oh and they cost over $2000 so pm me only if your really interested.. as soon as i get the email to say send them back, they will be going back.. i don't want to have to wait too long for my proper wheels The wheels are for a C110 240K with the offsets 0 and -6, i am no expert, but i don't think that would fit the Z cars.. sorry

here you go!! it is pretty overcast today, so the colours don't quite look as bronzed that they do in the sun

my wheels arrived today!
i just spoke to the guys at the wheel centre repairs @ thornleigh, they say it is hard to tell without looking at them, but if they can do it it would be between $100-$150 a wheel so i guess they will be going back to japan sometime soon!

my wheels arrived today!
I know i know... and i forgot to take photo's yesterday too i will try and get my friend to take a picture of one of the rims tonight as for polished vs not polished, i don't agree.. polished rims always make the wheel look a lot fatter (well in my opinion), which is ALWAYS a good thing and besides, i paid extra for the "special finish" so it should be sorted out.. i was surprised how brown and golden the "magnesium" colour is, i would have expected it to be more of a gun metal grey.. Thanks Jim, i will give the thornleigh guys a ring and find out how much they estimate it to cost, i could easily imagine it costing over $100 a rim though I have to say, so far the guy who ordered the rims for me has been very curtious, polite and professional, once the problem with the wheel finish is resolved, i will post his details online here for future reference

my wheels arrived today!
I came home today to find 2 nice big surprises! 2 huge watanabe boxes with my nice shiny new wheels in them!! I ordered a set of 16x8 (0 offset) and a set of 16x8.5(-6 offset) Watanabe R wheels. The wheels were ordered as magnesium coloured with machined silver rims Unfortunately when i pulled them out of the box (man are they LIGHT!) they are all magnesium (so no silver finish). Not sure what is going to happen yet, i have emailed the guy who ordered them for me to see what the best course of action is anybody know somebody in sydney who would be able to machine the rims and polish them up? i have no idea what it would cost to do, but it may be an option to fix them rather than send them back to japan and wait a month for them to finish the wheels at the factory, but ultimately it will be up to the company i bought them off. I didn't have my camera with me today, but i will get a photo tomorrow of them and post it! I had been waiting to see the wheels before trying to decide between painting the car red or grey... let me tell you it still hasn't helped! Kent

L24 oil filter relocator and cooler
no interest so far, so i will throw it up on ebay.. i also have a facet low pressure fuel pump that i bought new for $105 as i though the mechanical pump on my 240k was dead, so i installed it, ran it for about 50km, and then worked out the fill needle on the carburettor was jamming shut, so i replaced that instead. so it is in new condition, but slightly used.. i think the pressure rating for it was 5-11psi from memory. any one want it for $60? it is of no use to me know.

selling my 240K
i don't get it... what have you said? apart from suggesting that having a V8 in a kenmeri is sacrilege. i myself would prefer to have a skyline descendant engine in my car (and i do!) , but as long as the car is respected and well looked after, no matter what engine is in it.. who really cares.. i am certainly not going to try and put down somebodies hard work (and it takes a lot of it)

L24 oil filter relocator and cooler
there is a 3rd piece which screws directly onto the original oil filter mount, you then plumb this adaptor to the remote oil mount and to the cooler i forgot to get a picture of the adaptor, sorry

selling my 240K
last i heard (and i emailed him for an update and possibly pricing last night) things were going well, he was looking at making the spoiler moulds first and then fix the damage to my grill (it was apparently twisted a little too, but i built a template (off the original grill) to show the proper mounting locations. I will let you all know when i hear back from him

selling my 240K
sorry I have to admit, Brian had originally asked me about the car a couple of months ago when i mentioned something about selling it, i didn't think it was a good enough example for him when compared to the $6000+ original one on ebay, but i have to admit, it cleaned up pretty well!!

selling my 240K
and i am certainly happy that the car is going to a good very home (i just wish i could say i had a C10 and c110!)!! and the money is going straight back into my other 240K.. so it is one more step closer to actually getting finished!! it seems that e-bay is doomed for selling 240k's, they never ever actually complete

selling my 240K
heres hoping i just hope that the workshop and parts manuals that i have accumulated will be enough for me to go off to rebuild my other car.. you know what it is like trying to pull something apart and then put it back together.. you are always left with bits left over.. times that by a car

L24 oil filter relocator and cooler
Hi Guys, not sure what the policy of advirtising bits and pieces on this side of the forum (rather than the 4 sale section), but i would prefer to make the offer to the 240k ppl (and z ppl out there!) before i stick it up on ebay. a year ago i bought a used oil relocator and 24 row (i think) oil cooler from ebay for the L series engine. I had planned on putting this on the rally car, but i am now selling that (hopefully). It looks to be an excellent set of parts, just the thing to help keep the L cool during the summer months, or if you do any trackwork. I payed $270 for it, and then had to spend $50 on the hose pipe, so i am looking for $250 +ph to recoup a little of the cost. It should fit all sorts of L engine (L24, L20, L28, L26 etc.) pm me if your interested, otherwise i will probably split them up and sell em on ebay.

selling my 240K
Hi Guys, I have made the descision to sell my 2nd 240K coupe, the one that was one day destined to compete in the charity rally event. Unfortunatly, as much as i would like to keep the car (who can have enough 240K's!), i need to make room. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4652676531 Hopefully it will find a good owner (and a good price, it owes me over $2500 but we all know you never make your money back on cars!) wish me luck!

Exhaust systems?
i think you would have to get a custom job (any exhasut place will do it), doubt there will be anything off the shelf, unless someone on here has one lying around. maybe try just getting a mild steel cat back style exhaust, maybe 2-2.5" if it isn't grunty enough, add a hotdog. the canon is just the muffler, so get a different style, i am not sure what you would get for $200-$300 though just shop around i guess..
