  1. both the front and rear sway bar kit were $213 each with around $22 for shipping from whiteline. i still need to measure the difference in diametre of the 2 bars the main reason i bought the saybars was to try and iron out any understeering behaviour, and as you say, help keep the car flat (i am still worried the car will behave like a boat )
  2. unfortunately it is not moving as fast as i would have liked (it has sat there for lord knows how long!), but i am determined to atleast get the engine in now ,no matter what I don't remember there being a gap, it may just be the angle of the photo, but thanks, i will double check that. i have fixed up the link of the rear swaybar, it should now work properly i didn't have the time to have a look at the rear and where this would mount (i just wanted to get teh front swaybar in incase it affected the install of my engine), i hope it isn't too hard. i will take teh standard end bushes off again and drop into a suspension place, see if i can get replacement ones

  8. i would love a pedal box and associated gear, if one of them is manual! (i have the gearbox, but i would need anything else to convert from auto) i would also love to get a carby if they are in good condition (mine keeps flooding)

  10. Hi Guys, i am slowly trying to get some more content up on my site, i am sick of trying to make the site work through asp, so i am going back to a basic layout for now, and just try to get some content up. anyways, here is some pics of the whiteline BDF33 install that i did on the weekend, the swaybar is a little thicker than the original, but i am sure it is much stronger.. not too sure on the remaining stock bushes though http://road.project240k.com/suspension/front/swaybar/frontswaybar.htm i also have some picks of the rear swaybar kit and their instructions up http://road.project240k.com/suspension/rear/swaybar/rearswaybar.htm it looks "interesting", might get that one professionally installed when the car is on-road how does it handle on road? funnily enough.. the swaybar still make the car feel like it is missing some much needed power..
  11. let us know what you work out with ozzie (maybe we should start a new thread)
  12. I am looking for a set of watanabe or rewinds as well, so if you find anything out, please let me know!!! maybe we can get a good price for a couple of sets i am probably looking for a set of 16" though

Hi Guys, i installed the front swaybar on the car on the weekend, all went pretty well, except i had to trim the sides from the rubber that fits into the stabilizer mount. I will get some pictures up very soon. My have a question though, the SPF1224K bushes are meant to be for the front lower control arms.. i can't for the life of me see any similar bushes anywhere on the front suspension!! am i blind (probably)!

good point Doug, owning a black car, luckily nobody has hit me yet, but a few have tried via sudden lane changes thanks gogriz91, anyone got the original silver KPGC110 silver colour code?

Hi 240Kman, brilliant! great to hear from you, and with such good advice! is there any other urethene bushes etc, i should/can get.. i have most of the ones i have been able to find on the whiteline website, but would be keen to find out any others, as i am sure most of the rubbers are due for a replacement. what do the noltec strut tops go for? can you organise us a good deal my front shocks are some form of height adjustable (they may be koni) units, apparently from a C210 skyline, the whole subframe was on teh car when i bought it, and it gave the car crazy camber. i had to change back to a c110 to make it look straight.. it is just a rolling shell at them moment, so it makes it difficult to get the car anywhere, i am trying to do as much as i can during the build. i intend to get some wide tyres on the car as well, as i will have GTR guards to fill out thanks for the advice on the rear bar, if it is a little tail happy, atleast i know why! (well apart from the 300kw it should eventually run)

sorry for being a little ignorant about this, but how do paintshops keep track of all the colour codes when they mix paint... if i found the GTR code, could a modern shop be able to match that colour if i don't have a sample? any one got any suggestions on engine colours?

Hi Miles, you are so lucky to be over there make sure you let us know how you get on, i am sure we would be very interested in how it goes.. would also love it if you could find out some more on any top plates they make in japan, if you find a place that sells them, would you possibly consider shipping a set over to me? (i can pay via paypal). In Australia, Whiteline make a generic top plate kit, but i think they are around the AU$400+ mark, again i am not sure if they would really fit properly, i would prefer a set made with the c110 in mind

i don't know about the bayside blue, it did cross my mind, but i just couldn't visualise a blue C110..
  20. khughes replied to khughes's post in a topic in 240K Skyline
thanks tom, i will look into the neg camber and the rack and pinion steering. The car has been converted to power steering by the previous owner, i think it is from an R30 skyline (or it could have been C210, i am not quite sure). the SPF1224K is nolathane inner control arm inner bushes, and the swaybar comes with nolethane bushes too.. the rear bar looks interesting, it is not a replacement (obviously) and needs to be bolted on (which is going to be intereting given it didn't come with instructions!) pics will follow

yeah, you are probably right, i have another 240k which i sprayed White and black (to go with the japanese cop car theme), whilst the paint job was pretty crap (hey, it was my first ever attempt), the white did look a lot cleaner, the black showed up the ripples in the paint and overspray fairly easily. I also know (from owning an R33 Skyline GT-R), white on a car with pumped out guards, makes it look alot fatter than it does in silver.

Hi Guys, Well, it will soon be time for me to decide on a colour for my C110 GT-R lookalike.. I was pretty keen on either going with the S15 Silver (which apparently is very similar to the original GT-R silver colour), or to go with a darker metallic silver, Lexus Graphite (as seen on many IS200's).. i love that lexus graphite colour, and i think it would accentuate the black arches etc.. too.. but.... i just don't know... maybe it would look a little too dark (it does look grey in some light, a little black in others) Also.. i need a matching colour scheme for the engine bay (highlights on the RB25 head / intake plenum etc.) any suggestions? i was thinking gold or red and black (s20 like). Does anybody have any good links to some good pics of the S20 engine?
  23. khughes replied to khughes's post in a topic in 240K Skyline
the RB block is certainly no bigger dimension wise, but with the extra weight of the turbo, manifolds etc.. i could imagine it would be atleast an extra 50+ KG that isn't even counting the intercooler, piping, intake etc. either.. luckily i am redirecting the battery to the back, and the R32 radiator i am going to try and use is a lot lighter and thinner than the stocker. so i should be saving a little weight there.. still looking for a set of rims, i havn't had any luck finding a suitable pair in the past year.. i am going to go as wide as i can.. i don't really want to fork out for some konig wheels though

Hi Guys, Just wondering if any of you have done any suspension work to your cars to help them handle better on the road/track. I have some real concerns that after i do my RB25/30 swap, the front is going to be a lot heavier and understeer a lot more (that is... if the car ever gets traction) So far i have the following (suspension wise) Front: height adjustable shocks (C210 i believe) Whiteline BDF33 swaybar Whiteline SPF1224K bushes Rear: Munroe GT shocks Whiteline BDR5 swaybar Depending on what size rims that i get (hopefully 15/16" watanabe if i EVER find some), i will lower the car accordingly. The swaybars go on over christmas, i will make sure i get some install pictures as i go and post on here I am also looking at slotting the rear suspension member to allow for adjustment (as previously mentioned on here), is there any point getting a set of front adjustable camber tops made up for the car? are they expensive to make/fit? anyone else done any handling mods? i have to confess i am certainly no handling expert, and it seems to get one to work on your car involves a lot of testing and $$$$. do any of the 1600 suspension principals carry over (since they ae similar setups)?
