awesome, that is 2 bonnets so far. 3 or 4 more needed.. guys, just to make things clear, i am not planning to be a middle man in the deal or anything like that. once we have numbers and he then agree's on pricing etc. i will take over my bonnet for him to make a mould from, and then payments and arrangements can be made directly. Kent

Hi Guys, i am guessing there hasn't been much progress on this? I met a guy today (picking up an R33 GTST rear end for my Z), who makes fibreglass/carbon/carbon fibre parts as a side business. He had some awesome carbon parts I asked him if he would be keen to do a batch of 240K ones, and he sounded quite keen. I said i would chase up some numbers to make sure it was worthwhile for him (i said there was probably 5-6 ppl interested). I also have a decent enough bonnet to use as a moulding base. He should be able to do them in either fibreglass, fibreglass with a carbon top layer, full carbon or if you were really keen, carbon kevlar.. He can also do with or without the inside braces, nuts, catch etc. PM me if you would really be willing to go ahead and buy one if i can organise it. I am guessing it will take 2 months or so. I don't want to waste this guys time if there aren't enough of . Kent

  10. alfa, are you sure? i though with the sedan side chrome trims, the top was a lot shorter than the coupe's of course i am probably wrong

Hi guys, sorry it took me so long to respond, it has been very busy lately but yes, i was looking at restoring it back to it's orginal colour, really it just needs a bit of a cleanup and touch up of the rusty areas.. only problem is to do it properly, it means doing it completely I was hoping that i would somehow get the colour mixed to match (i know in the states they have machines that can measure and formulate the right colour, just not sure if they have them here in Australia). Bob, originally i brought in a good copy from japan to use as a mould here in australia, but it was destroyed in the process (a shame as it was quite good), and the shop who took the mould has simply stopped replying to anyone.. so that was a waste of time. I am hoping that a good copy is available again soon in Australia.

Hi Guys, thought you would all be interested in this, some pictures of the genuine KPGC110 grill i finally managed to pick up (after 5+ years). more pictures at http://www.project240k.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=2291 The two end pieces are some sort of plastic, whilst the centre piece is metal. the 3 pieces and the mesh is rivitted together. There are a few minor scratches on this one, and a spot of rust starting to show through on the centre, so i will have to look at trying to get a 2 pak paint colour match, then get it soda blasted and repainted properly. I am still in two minds about whether i will use this grill on the car, or put it away and get a fibreglass one. i can always put this one on for special occasions (show and shines etc)

depends if the xf falcon came out before whatever the relevent ADR is i know that there is a lot less for my 71 240z to comply with than my 73 240k
  14. khughes replied to khughes's post in a topic in 240K Skyline
you would have to check the ADR's for your year model as there is one that says you have to have hard surfaces covered with a cushioned material.. in an accident, it doesn't sound too safe though

i would.. the greddy plenums are fantastic.. well worth the money (plus you know they are reputable and flow well) Kent

are you running an RB25? when i was goind down taht path, i ended up buying a greddy plenum for around $800 shipped from the states (years ago now).. easy to fit and gave really good clearance There are chinese knock offs, but they are mostly not worth the money once you take into account the bad fitting and the amount of extra work cleaning them up and finding all the parts that are missing

be sure to post as much specifics as you can (especially in regards to the 240k - engine connections), it will be very helpful for plenty of people are you going off the hybridz chris rummfeild thread? i would imagine a R33 dash would have to be pretty hacked up to fit a 240k..
  19. khughes replied to SHM17Y's post in a topic in 240K Skyline
i am not up to the wiring stage yet (will be soon).. ages ago i bought a full R33 body wiring loom that i was looking to retro fit.. but it really is too hard to work through.. I am going to end up replacing the factory wiring (there isn't much in there) and custom wiring it all up.. the hardest bit will be the switching of the blinkers/wipers/headlights.. oh and the ignition key i am replacing all my guages though.. if your keeping standard then you will have to mess around trying to get the right gearbox output cog to match the diff/speedo

Hi Mate, put me down for a set of the rear replica GT-R tail light rings in black gel coat. do you want to pm me the details of payment etc. awesome very happy someone finally got them done! Kent
  22. nice.. maybe the Z might be ready for it then too
  23. fingers crossed i will make the 2011 one
  24. khughes replied to Adzmax's post in a topic in 240K Skyline
Hi matt, we are talking about a GT-R replica grill, i originally had a copy sent over from japan, but it got destroyed in the moulding process with phil. The only copy i got was later sent off to the US (thining i could easily get more).
  25. khughes replied to Razor's post in a topic in 240K Skyline
if it doesn't sell, hit me up if you decide to sell the mirrors seperately shame you couldn't finish it yourself though (just quietly, it is also a bit of a stretch to call them GT-R taillights they don't have the GT-R surrounds - i have been looking for a set for long enough, i would call it JDM at best)
