Parts Wanted: SCAMMER ALERT!!! CZC member GRUDGE
So it looks like I am still in need of a set of P79 head intake and exhaust valves. Looking for ones that are not "dished", or at least have a decent amount of flat ignition chamber side arrangement kind of like the one in the photo for this thread. Thanks

Parts Wanted: SCAMMER ALERT!!! CZC member GRUDGE
Sorry for the confusion, I wasn't blaming you or the community for this asshat's actions. I was trying to answer your question as to why. Yes, I was trying to inform the good bunch of this bad apple. I'm not asking for your money, just for grudge to give me mine back, or send me the parts, rightfully mine, purchased in good faith.

Parts Wanted: SCAMMER ALERT!!! CZC member GRUDGE
Thanks Head. Yes, our attempt at a driveline company didn't fly too far for too long. I guess I was blind thinking the CZC community was better than this. Trying to pick up some pieces of this last transaction. Thanks for the head's up and info.

View Advert SCAMMER ALERT!!! CZC member GRUDGE Beware of member named GRUDGE. Email address is William Russell <sales.critchorpcomputer@gmail.com> Thought he was legit, as he sent photos of the valves I was looking for. He took my money through Venmo and then ghosted me. Used a spoofed email for the Venmo account he reported as his wife's account, and the owner of that email address claims she doesn't know anyone named William. I hope no other member gets screwed like I was. I can send the email communications to whomever is interested. Advertiser Mat M Date 11/19/2020 Price Category Parts Wanted Year 83 Model 280zx

Parts Wanted: Looking for flat top valves - P79
View Advert Looking for flat top valves - P79 Hey there. I'm looking for, at the very least, two 35mm head, 115.2mm overall length exhaust valves and at least one 44mm head, 114.2mm intake valve for a P79 head. Both NISSAN and Rock Auto show the exhausts as NLA. What I'd REALLY like is to find a whole set of 12 valves, all flat-top (no dish like the ones I have, see photo). Support your local tire shop... it pays off
I'd always have the Firestone tire (Re: Ford exploders) debachle in the back of my mind. No thanks no matter what the service.

How to use Sea Foam in my 73 with SU carbs
OK, at the risk of sounding like an arse, through the fuel tank. Have you searched? I got 19 threads searching the term "+sea +foam". Follow the directions on the can. I used 1/3 in the tank, 1/3 in the block, and the rest sucked through a vacuum line connected to the balance tube while holding the throttle at elevated RPMs.

Whats your Z plan for 2010?
I'll play. I WANT to install the balanced F54 block I have from jmortensen, and mate it to the p79 head freshly worked by the best L series head builder I know of....drum roll.... the one and only BRAAP! I also want to send away the carbs I have for the Z Therapy regimen. Someday I will yank the 5 spd out of the parts ZX and stick it in the 71... Reality: daughter #2 is due late March... Most likely won't have time/money/energy to do any of the above.

Early Ball Joints & Knuckle Arms
About 6 months ago, for my car, I ordered these from here They are Moog, with 555 in the casting. These seem to do the trick! I didn't replace my steering knuckles, but they did also have a pair of outer tie rods that fit well. IIRC, they accept PayPal, as well. [edit] Crap. They're more now than when I bought them! [/edit]

Poly bushing : Not worth it ?
Well, I read the post by Tibz wrong, and looked up where I got my poly set from. These guys are really great to deal with. The Poly set was inexpensive enough that I bought the tie rod ends and lower ball joints as well. I suggest one purchases the poly master kit, then purchases the rubber T/C rod bushings from NAPA and swap the rear poly bushing with the rubber. The other pair one may save for a few years and swap them in for the deteriorated rubber when the elements and underhood temps begin to degrade the rubber. http://energysuspensionparts.com/products.asp?cat=Nissan+240Z+1971

Massive Pile Of Parts!!!
In my experience, if you make separate bins and try to keep like-parts together, it's a LOT easier than trying to just pick out parts one-at a time to photo/log/whatever.

3 Die...Will it ever stop?
I am under the opinion that EVERYONE that gets behind the wheel of an automobile, even a motorcycle, for that matter, should be given a MANDATORY physics class. I especially applaud the groups of firefighters that bring a smashed car and the Jaws-o-Life and give demonstrations on how they extract what used to be people.

Powder blue air cleaner correct?
I was wondering abou the blue airboxes I have in storage as well. Thanks for clearing that up! [edit] Mine don't have that crazy hump in it like this one has, what's that from? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DATSUN-240Z-260Z-280Z-Dual-Carb-Air-Cleaner-Assembly_W0QQitemZ320306209081QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item320306209081&_trkparms=72%3A727%7C39%3A1%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245

Sacramento Area Carbo Load and Chat Session...
! *shaking my head* I wish I can be there... It's not for lack of planning on your part, Rob, but my good friend is having a "new deck" party for all us college guys, a kind of reunion for everyone. Bear Claws for everyone! Wait a minute....Is that a pic of a power steering unit on your Z? [edit] never mind, I read the image title... Sounded too good to be true. (looked too clean, as well!!)

'71 (series I) brake booster/master cylinder...
I had a leak in my pre 8/71 brake booster last week, as a matter of fact. I used a '72 booster to replace it, but I had to exchange the adjustment screw-tipped MC rod between the booster and the MC (the pre- 8/71 was about 1/4", while the '72 was about 1"). I retained the original MC and reservoirs. I also had to use the brake pedal clevis pin from the '72, because while the '72's inboard rod is a larger diameter, it has a SMALLER diameter clevis pin, the holes on the adjusting "U" shaped bolt just weren't large enough to fit the original clevis pin. This gives a bit of "slack" because the brake pedal's clevis hole is larger than the new clevis. Also, instead of a round snapring (on the original clevis), the smaller '72's clevis drilled for a hairpin-type retainer. So, the 72 booster CAN indeed work with an early 71 MC.

Occasional white smoke, need help!
Did you not have the deck (block) and head checked for straightness? Did you overheat before this occured? What can you tell us that might point to WHY the gasket blew? Do you have pics of the original gasket? If it is a blown headgasket, and there is a problem with the head/block tolerance, you will have blown gaskets from here to eternity without solving the core issue.
