  1. I do have a strobe, and I am trying to download an FSM from carfiche, but every time I look the '86 300ZX is TnA. When I didn't need the info, TnA was usually a good thing!!! I guess I can hook 'er up and spin the dizzy a bit. Let's see where this takes us!
  2. Nope, you didn't have the date wrong, I read the calendar wrong. You are correct, I am dingy. BTW, I cannot edit my post now. *sniff*
  3. Thanks, Stephan. We need that kind of insight. It's a new cat, so I HOPE it's functional. I'll take a look at the EGR (as much as I can) and see if it's druddy. I think we're going to purchase a ECU from zxman.com and see if that gets the timing under control. The ECU was deemed a problem by the shop mechanic.
  4. Well, I have the smog results for my friend's ZX, I hope that someone here will be able to discern something from it. It looks (to me) that the NO is high at slow speed, but drops at high speed. ZX smog.pdf
  5. Well, Conedodger was being sneaky, and added a date on the calendar, but not in the regional announcements... :stupid:Silly Conedodger! Anyway, I would like to attend, and maybe get the word spread a little further. (sorry if I stepped on your toes, Rob!) Specs on the munch and brunch: Where - Family Donuts and Deli at the corner of Fair Oaks Blvd. and San Juan Ave. When - Saturday, June 27, 2008, 9AM til when we want to go elsewhere. Hope to see you there!
  6. And if you need help, this is one of the best places for it!:rambo:

It has already happened. GM sold Texaco the rights to large NiMH batteries, Chevron bought Texaco. Chevron WILL NOT license the production of large NiMHbatteries, pure and simple. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nickel-metal_hydride_battery#Patent_encumbrance_of_NiMH_batteries
  9. Dave, I just got the email update to this thread, and was going to tell you, "SEE? I can get you what you need!" Please check your PM.
  10. HEY DAVE! I wanted to let you know I got the HLH, TSH, and combo and turn signal switches this afternoon! Excellent service, EXCELLENT communication, and most of all, ECXELLENT product!!!! Thanks so much for the care and effort you put into each and every one of your products! They are beautiful, and I KNOW 1000% better than what I have on the cars now. Please let me know if I can help you out with anything for your 260!

Jon, did you groove the bushing all the way around so the grease had somewhere to go?

Maybe even check out Discovery.com and look up mythbusters, too.
  13. I would like to clarify my fisrt response. I have not seen USED part prices increases, yet. Prices for NOS (either real or claimed) parts have been skyrocketing, because of the more affluent members of society are willing and can easily part with higher sums, affording them to be more meticulous than myself. Last summer I pulled a very nice reuphulstered driver seat from a 73 at a P&P. When I resold it, I told the man "$65", and he pulled $165 out of his wallet. uh, no, I said $65. (I should have taken it!!) Gary, I hope you are having fun at Canby (while I am writing this, in envy). IF I had a belly pan, I would probably ask $175 after reading the DeesZ's post. Before, I probably would have asked only $100.

This was interesting to me, and I haven't seen it here yet... http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/27/te...ofueler&st=nyt
  16. Hello Rob! Thanks for the offer. I definately would have hit you up if I knew it was available, but I don't think my friends would have. They needed to be coaxed into taking my offer, they were so afraid of intruding, or encroaching, or imposing. I found some further info, apparently the property management company for their apartments (in Rocklin) changed hands, and these guys play hardball. Wouldn't yield any concessions. My friends got the notice to tow letter on Tuesday while they were at work, not reading it until Tuesday night. The deadline was set for Friday. I think a 3 day (effectively a 2 day) notice is BUNK! Even if he knew exactly what the problem was, getting the parts and installing them, and verifying with a new test and procuring DMV approval would take at LEAST a week! One of the MANY reasons why I will NEVER live in an apartment complex.
  17. No, I haven't noticed, but your info makes me sad. I sold my original AM radio (pristine) for $125 about a year ago. I also had a fan shroud I let go for $30. I have yet to see a belly pan with my own eyes. I would think they were unobtanium, anyway. If you are looking for something in particular, please PM me. I have a bunch in the barn.
  18. AndysPlit, I believe 215K reads the odo. Thanks so much for all the replies. It means a lot to my friends as well as to me. The car is now safe and sound on my property, and the owners need no longer fear the dreaded tow-mobile. I may just crack her open per everyone's suggestions. [edit] That is, IF I can bring myself to pull away from my Z!!! [/edit]
  19. Well, new info this morning, I have been told that the motor has been rebuilt around 100K ago. It may as well need a timing belt.
  20. Steve, et al, I may be PMing you about this soon. It's coming to my place tonight. If it's just a case of a TPS and a couple other things, I may just do that! AndysPlit, thanks so much for the help!

Without getting political, the Bush family has been in oil for generations. That's where their money comes from. [edit] Yay! In before the lock![/edit]

WOOO HOOOOO!!! I just cleared $103 for 22.6 gals of regular!!! YEAH!!! Thanks, Chevron!!!! OK, this is in my Tundra, but I got over 18 MPG this tank!
  23. Sorry Dave. Thanks for keeping me honest about this one! Please see the top view of my 01/71. What do ya know, it looks an aweful lot like ZHead's RHD 01/71!
  24. I am of the same calibre. Unfortunately, I live over 50 miles from him, and he really doesn't have the skills, let alone the tools to work on his ZX. I have offered to tow dolly it to my place and part it out and split the profit, though. Momma doesn't like the idea, and I don't know how loong the car would be sitting IF it ever got fixed.
  25. THANKS! I will let them know. I haven't heard of that one before. I have sent them zxman.com, though.
