240z in aus if thats they way you fell then thats your problem but everyone is different and dont forget they are replica flairs which are from a z originally. Also personally my road z was fairly buchered when I got it so a few tastful mods wont hurt. I am all for keeping good examples of the z in original condition. My race car was a racecar when I got it and had been crashed a few times before I got it aswell. Thats why I am not going out and buying another good example of a z and putting my race bits into it after the crash, because I too dont want to stuff a nice z. Ash

Im in melbourne I will take some pics, but they look the same (direct copys) as the zg flairs and would be in white gel coat. Dogma420 thats 150US im talking aus dollars and mine will be good ones as well as I have been making fibreglass bits for my car for some time and hand lay. There isnt anyone in Aus that sells these flairs. There are places that have told me they do and when I see them thay are just similar ones off a torana or something. Ash

Hi all I picked up some zg flairs (copys) in japan a while ago and some friends are intereested in getting a set. So I am going to probably make a mold and sell off a few sets. I just wanted to know if anyone in aus is interested in a set. They will problably be around 300-350 a set? let me know what you think. (might fund a bit of my race car repair) Ash

Hi all I have recently got a 260z 2+2 1974 model which is quite different in the chassis to the later 2+2 cars. I noticed that the chassis rails ar very short and look like the same length as the 240z. does anyone know if datsun used the front and front section of the floors on the 2+2. When I get a chance I will mesure it up and compare just thought it was interesting that the rails were so short? Ash

hi Gav The inleyt manifod has smaller ports, and I think the exhust maniford would too. but they have the correct bolt and port spacing so they will fit up ok. I have been told that they use a l20 exhust manifold and put the l28 injection manifold on if you know what I meen anyway come over and have a lok if you like. The price is not cement:classic: Ash

Hi Nate Havent driven the car with the turbo in it yet just run it and checked its ok. Apparently they have similar hp as a std injected l28 but with heaps of touque. Ash

The guy didnt say much and I was in shock for a while so I didnt really speek to him. He was fined $500 and had to do flags for the meating but its really no consolation for a written off car I think. I should be able to build the car back up but I dont know untill I really stip the shell and have a good look. Probably will need a reshell though as the passanger foot well is about 25cm wide now. I guess the only possitive is I am only brused not broken. Also my dad has said I might be able to run his TR8 race car untill my cars back on the track. Its not a z but it has a 5ltr V8 with harrop calipers, 6speed gearbox etc etc. Just have to make sure I dont end up in the same possition as my z. Ash

On Friday my car was totaled by a 944 Porsche:( Ity happened in pratice when I spun on the first turnand ended up on the outside of the coner about 2 meters of the race track. The Yellow flags cam out and I tryed to restart the car. I couldnt get it running again (carbies were flooded). The after about a minute a 944 who wasnt paying attention to the yellow flags lost control and t boned my car on the left hand side. I was not hurt just got a few bruses. But my poor Z is pretty much stuffed. Hopfully I can rebuild it but its soooo disapointing when you put so much time ito a car and some ##!! head runs into you. Anyway you can check out the picks in my gallery. I will post some better shots when I get time. The left side is prettty totaled and the transmition tunnel is bent and torn apart. Ash

That time is unreal is it timed on a stopwatch or with proper lap timing system at the track. The nations cup cars would push to do those times. How much hp does the GTR have? I take it they are very good road tyres as well. Is there a chance they would race this car as GTRs are able to run in sports cars now. My best time is a 1.23 at sandown and 1.47 at Phillip Island. These times are timed on track lap timing system not on stop watch. You have to remember my car just has an L28 and triples and I bet the gtr cost a heap to get it going that quick! Ash

I am putting a roof on my z in the next few months. I think the best way to fit it is to drill out the spot welds on the roof skin and leave the frame in tacked. Then remove the skin and fit the new one. (sound simple hey!) Ive seen wazza do one and its a lot of stuffing around but its worth it if you want a nice roof. I actully have a roof forsale but I am waiting on a guy to confirm if he wants it or not. I will give him a ring and get back to you and let you know it he still wants it. Ashley
