    Hi all I have been running std flat top cast pistons in my race motor for some time now (cannot afford forged ones). Just wondering what everyone out ther who run std cast pistons rev to. I rev my car to around 7000 constently in race situations. Not sure if it would hold together to 8000 but would like to know of anyone experiance. Thanks Ashley
  4. 260z L28 block, balanced, bored 40 thou oversize. N42 head, bigger valves, ported, race cam, heavy duty valve springs etc. speed technology harmonic balancer, oil cooler, extractors, triple 45mm delautos, cool air box, electric fuel pump, all recently run in and only driven twice. 280 zx g/ box (recently full rebuilt), Heavy duty clutch, 2 1/2 inch exhaust system (new), electric distributor (280z), new clutch and brake master cylinder kits, urethane bushes all round. adjustable lower control arms, caster rods. Koni adjustable shocks (new), 2 inch springs, adjustable platforms, lowering blocks. Speed technology adjustable front and rear sway bars. Vented and cross drilled front rotors, 300zxtt callipers (Z32), 300zx rear disks and rotors (Z31), new pads all round (2 runs), 17/9 magnesium rims w/ near new Bridgestone Potenza 540s tyres. Trik Rollcages 8 point cage with papers. locked diff. 5 point harness, cobra race seat, interior is stripped. tacho, bat cut off etc. front and rear spoilers. The car has been run twice with no problems. Car handles beautifully and is very neutral. With a in-experienced driver the car has done a 1.10 at Calder Park Raceway and a 1.58 at Phillip Island Grandprix Circuit.   5. 1:18 is f@#$ing quick for a road car. Infact its bloody quick for a race car. Must be a real point and shot car though.I bet his engine cost more than my whole race car. Let me know when hes going to be on the track again cuase I would love to see it. Ash
  6. Hi all I will be going to Japan and staying in Shinjuku for work. I am there from the 29th feb to 9th of Mar. Could anyone suggest some places to go around there to check out any zed related stuff. I would also like to pick up some fibreglass flairs if possible as well as anything else I can fit in my suitcase!!! Thanks Ashley

    Thanks for the advice etc. I will post some pics soon. Dont worry I still love the Zed the best but I think the RX7 has a certain quirkyness about it being a rotory and all.

    chris I may be going to japan in a month or so so would you be able to tell me were you got yoou zed bits from over there cause I might see if I can carry back a few bits with me. Do you need different hinges to suit the g-nose? thanks Ash

    thanks chris yer I should be able to patch it up ok. how do you tell if its from z worx. I didnt know they made a 5 piece gnose I thought they made a 2 piece one? I will have to see if I can borrow it and trial fit it first. I know someone in SA was importing one from Japan. Was that you?

    it is fairly rough eg some of the holes for the bolts are broken and the bumper has been repaired pretty badly and has big crack around front. It also doesnt have any of the perspex headlight covers ore crome surround. The undertray doesnt have any real detail like the original . Thanks Ash

    Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me with this tacho problem. Its a std tacho on my 240z, It was working fine for ages and now when I start the car it only seems to be reading about half the amount of revs the car is doing. Sometimes after a while it will all of a sudden start working correctly but then when I turn of the car and re start it is inacurrate again. any clues? I have another tacho so I am probably going to change it to see if I have just got a dead tacho, just thought I would ask to see first thanks Ash
