Opinions/Knowledge on Triple SU's
i heard somewhere (don't remember but i know it was a reliable source) that the triple SU setup was not very efficient, and the benefits over a twin SU system were miniscule. the reasoning was because of the setup of the standard I-6 engine. because the firing of the cylinders is set-up the way it is (i don't know the firing order off the top of my head) the usage of both of the twin SUs is equal and regular. when the third SU is thrown in there it offsets the system and causes irregularities throughout the entire intake system. basically you get uneven and irregular usage out of each of the carbs.

Introduce yourself to the class?
i should have been more specific... i can't afford a WEDDING... not being married. there are far more financial advantages than disadvantages in being married. anyway, we have the date set to when we can afford it: next year.

Introduce yourself to the class?
hey! my name is jason king, at present time i own 2 72 240zs. i am 23 years old and i'm a customer sevice manager at office depot here in san diego, california. i'm pretty much married and have a 3 yr old son named matthew. i've been into cars all my life: my dad started me off young. he was from the "muscle car" crowd, and for most of the 80s had the fastest SBC in san diego. don't let that fool you, though, i have been into datsuns forever. my first car was a 69 nova; it wasn't till i decided that i needed a car with better gas mileage that i was fully hooked into japanese cars. i bought a 95 civic coupe (just to get around reliably, as my nova, well, no va). i souped it up a bit, then it broke down on me. this was all over the course of several years, mind you. i was able to borrow cars throught my family, driving a 79 chevy malibu classic, 01 astro, 97 geo prizm, etc. my civic sat inoperable in the driveway for a couple years, then i finally got rid of her for $1000. needless to say, with money fresh in my pocket, i went car shopping. picked up my grey 240 and knew i made the right choice. searching around ebay for parts, i discover a little vixen in san jose. after some budgeting and borrowing, i end up where i'm at now: i just purchased another 240z (original lime yellow) with a decently built N47 L28. original plan was to sell the grey one and start over with a more solid platform, but if i can afford it, ol yeller is gonna be my daily driver and grey is gonna be my SCCA racer.... we can only hope!

Need help parting out a '72 240Z in Dallas, TX

What wheels are these?
i don't think those are the appliance wheels, but i know which wheels those are. at first i thought they looked like the appliance ones, but then i remember seeing the initail wheels on zs before. at any rate, i believe they are period correct, and if you decide to get rid of them, let me know.. EDIT: upon closer inspection, i am sticking with my original claim: the "wire" part is much finer on the mounted wheels, and the distance from hub to "rim" is shorter in the mounted wheels.
