  1. man! i would hate to see that go to waste
  2. the r160 ring gear has a smaller diameter, which is technically not ideal for high torque and high horsepower applications. my friend dropped the suby r160 into his '70 and he has had no problems. he has been running an L28 with some basic bolt-on mods
  3. the only prob i have is that it's my only car... can't be laid up for more than a day. otherwise i'm all up ins!
  4. okay! thanks!
  5. anybody done this? i have had my new one sitting on top of my computer for about a month! is there an easier way to replace it than dropping the fuel tank?

  8. i recommend the IR alt.... have you had your alt checked yet? i just replaced my VR with a solid state one and i am having the same issues as you. i think mine could be my alt though... just a thought
  9. the ztherapy vids are a VERY good investment....
  10. sorry to hear of your news...... keep your head up, though. absence makes the heart grow fonder.... or was that absinth.....
  11. good to hear! you will be very satisfied with your decision....
  12. p.s..... i no longer need a combination switch
  13. stacey - notice you are in my area! anyway, there are TONS of people that have done the RB - series swap.... if you haven't already, go to hybridz.org and you will find excellent examples.
  14. ^infected is definitely the word. once you pop, yooooou can't stop..... maybe that's the wrong jingle, but you catch the drift!
  15. most definitely! a torquey 6-cyl in a 2300 lb RWD mass of awesomeness? now THAT'S tasty....
  16. most definitiely. p.s. darren, i can't take credit for mike's instructions. all thanks should be forwarded to him!
  17. do i smell the topic of L28ET coming up??? anyway, like stated before, volumetric efficiency is what it's all about. and as for the motor not making big HP numbers, the 240 isn't a heavy car. HP isn't always the most important thing when it comes to building an awesome car. the 240 is such a well balanced car that adding too much HP "can" ruin it.
  18. that's what i read.......
  19. you came to the right site, my friend! most of us here hold to the L-series engine (at least that's what i come away with). the l-series engine is one of the best engines (i think i'm on 237K right now and running strong as hell!). the reason that i believe most people get the L28 is for increases displacement. also, if you think about it, nissan has come a long way (as have others) over the years. newer technology usually equals better engineering. anyway, from what i have researched, the l24 is a relatively good motor, especially considering your automotive history ... anyway, there are tons of other folks that can tell ya more! so here they go:
  20. haha. ya, it's no hard feelings, just playin catch with the old arse balloon
  21. hmmm...... anyway. i could have sworn that those were the hot commodity a while ago...... something that people like to use to justify the war...
  22. of course! actually, thats in the USA!..... anyway, let's not turn this into a political thread... there's plenty of room to do that later..
  23. ^^i was actually thinking about that last night
  24. let me know when they have those videos in iraq.... then we could talk about weapons of mass destruction
  25. clairemont... i'm not THAT great of a 240 mechanic, but hey, i could help! i doubt it would be worth the drive for me to look at it for you though..
