  1. another update - i'm going to buy the 280ZX alternator through autozone and use my externally regulated on as the core. i'm also buying the clutch collar from MSA for 19.77. so assuming that all goes well with the moustache bar and speedo gear from Will and the radiator from Rex, i should be all set! (UNLESS anyone near by has a 5 speed so i don't have to do my first attempt at rebuilding a tranny.... wink wink...)
  2. thanks! unfortunately i don't have time to head down to otay and check out ecology; the driving time would take away all of my "work on car time"
  3. done and done! thanks will!
  4. sweet! good deal on that suspension....
  5. rex - see you tomorrow! will - do you know the weight of the moustache bar (and packaging dimensions, roughly) so that i can figure out shipping? also, would you be willing to pull a speedo gear arse'y from one of your 5 speeds (for 3.7 ratio)? everyone else - i've decided that if i cannot find a tranny locally, i am going to spend the $130 (and weeks of reading and labor) on a rebuild kit for my current tranny. since rex is local and has a radiator for me, we can knock that off the list! also, thank you so much for your willingness to help me out. it's GREATLY appreciated....
  6. that would be pretty cool i suppose. just as long as you get the non-restrictive ones and you might want to run a third one inline as a resonator; otherwise it would be too loud

    wow... KILLER pics
  8. good luck with the sale, steve!!!
  9. the sleves are the metal things that go inside the polyurethane bushings that the tension rod goes through. so basically, when you bolt up the TC rods, there will be metal touching the metal of the TC rod, and the bushings will be surrounding the bushings
  10. congrats!! looks like there where some nice a$$ cars there... must've been a blast
  11. 6 of one, 1/2 dozen of the other. i personally prefer the nardi shape. either one you will have to get a boss adapter for.

honestly, my L28 240 smoked a ~'73 last time we raced. a little too "cushy" for my likings

  16. no prob, arne. thanks for the thought, though! sorry to hear you didn't get it
  17. BUMP to seek more local parts; and also to add some more ports to the list i'm also looking for a 280Z clutch collar (to work with my centerforce II clutch) and a 280ZX alternator
  18. my car hasn't been running in 9 months. it's getting a full overhaul right now. i don't know about 14"s; but i think it fits most 14s. it fits 15s and 16s easy.

  21. my '72 L24 ran well on 87, as did my current flat F54/P79 combo. of course, with the F54 and N42 (10.5:1) i'm going to be running 91
  22. ya, the additive would probably cost more, anyway
  23. if you run a higher compression, you get better fuel economy. at least that's what my dad told me years ago....
