thank for the reply guys - and to Craig for the WAZ explanation too. $1200? you serious? that's a hell of a lot of money to pay for a crank. i was thinking stick it on eBay for $250 and see what happens - if it doesn't sell i was just going to put it in on ozdat and the local rag.

how much do they normally sell for in good condition? i have one i need to offload to pay for a few mods, and someone told me they were worth a "fair bit". what's a "fair bit"? should i stick it on ebay?

it always takes a bit of an "off" to realise just how far NOT to push it. was good you didn;t roll it - or worse - because you can learn from this and you know just how the car feels when it's at it's limit of traction. i'll bet it takes you another year to get back up to a similar entry speed in colb!!!

pretty sure - one my friends used to work at Nissan when i bought the 240C and had him chasing new old stock left, right and centre. he said the 240C and 260C 2 doors were all private imports - some imported by dealers, others by individuals. then again, the 260C has 2 body styles, the H230 (240C shape with L26 and different grille) and the P330 (new body / front panels / rear lights / L26) so he could have meant my body style only. in which case, if that were true, the above car could be an aust delivery. no way to tell really because of the fender mirror blanks on the guards there - which my car has also but is an aust del.

all the Cs came in 2 door and 4 door versions. all 2 doors are imports.

car is still for sale. please, no tyrekickers.
  12. those pics are shots of a storm front in kansas - not perth. the truck in the "blue sky shot" is on the RHS of the road - we drive on the LHS.
  13. Wtf....???
  14. if it were on some sort of wheels (ie a roller with diff, struts and steering) i would pay up to $2k for it. a good 240Z shell is hard to come by - let a lone one PROFESSIONALLY reparied.

hey! word gets around fast! this is my car. there is a very genuine reason for sale - i need the cash to buy a block of land. as well as that, i literally have no time to work on it now with my 3month old bub to look after - it's almost being "neglected". i'll take $4000 now just to update - it really has to go. and yes, i'm very sad.
  16. you're correct - it's an OZDAT meeting and it's in WESTERN AUSTRALIA - hence it's in the "Australia" regional discussion. we're definitely NOT an excusive "510 only" club - our president drives an FJ20DE powered 180B wagon. all datsuns are welcome - from a 1936 P211 Prince right up to the last 280ZX. hell, even if you don't own a datto but enjoy seeing them and chatting about them you're welcome to show up.
  17. Hi all. second wednesday night of next month (that's May folks, the 11th to be exact) - and hopefully every second wednesday of each month after that - there will be an informal meet at Fast Eddies Morley Galleria 7:00pm i look forward to seeing whoever shows up on the 11th. ciao.
  18. see "attn: all WA members"

the photoshoot will be behind Don Russell Homes at 290 Scarb Beach Rd, Osb Pk - middle to late May. it's an industrial area shoot. no pressure to join either. even if you just want to come along and see what we're about that's cool.

i meant the $50 is the start up fee, to organise PO Boxes, newsletters, websites, features etc etc. if enough members vote on being CAMS affiliated at the first AGM then, yes, we will have to bump up the price to include the non-speed license - or just provide an option for it. anyways - chasing numbers here folks. if you're interested, please post. cheers.

there is a photoshoot coming up in early May for OZDAT WA. if you would like to become a member of this very friendly and outgoing club then please join us. there is the opportunity to sign up and become a financial member as well, with $50 being the annual fee. we organise coastal cruises, rally days thru the hills, motorkhanas and autokhanas. we are also looking at becoming a CAMS affiliated club, so every member has a Level 2NS license straight out, as required for all CAMS events that don't involve racing (car rallies, m'khana's and autokhanas). good value methinks as this license also allowss you to participate in OTHER clubs' events :-D there is no pressure to join us on the day if you decide to come along anyway. we're just chasing numbers for the photoshoot as this will event will see either Fast 4s or Hot 4s magazine in a few months. i know they suck but exposure is exposure... thanks for your attention and i will post date, places and times later. meanwhile i'll be bumping this thread to get all your attentions. :-D
  22. sorry for the lenghty delay. a lot of issues internally with this club at present (time wise) so hoping to get it off the ground in the next cupla weeks. would look forward to you all joining and putting some faces to names. we cater for all dattos so you won't feel left out at all...

i can get a hold of a workshop manual for putting chevy's into zeds from PITSTOP bookshop in King St, Perth, West Australia. it even has the diagrams, dimensions, and stencils for the engine mounts inside. covers EVERYTHING to do with a V8 conversion. if you wire me the money i'll buy it and send it to you.
  24. there's no girling stamped on them anywhere so i think they're ATE. vented disc. wouldn't know what they'd fit, i've never played with a 240Z or roadster strut. cheers for the links
  25. anyone...? i'm open to offers here...
