damn you all, you bastards
since 'just' logging on to sell my E30 head, i have found myself browsing thru all your 240K pics and thinking about how i could 'just' get a coupe and make a C110GTR out of it. like -seriously- thinking about...tracking down original flares, thoughts of buying that mint blue coupe for $2500, trying to explain to the wife why there's ANOTHER car in the backyard... i'm trying to finish a conversion here people! stop tainting me with your wicked 'K' ways! i have to 'C' straight here...

triple SUs
well, then maybe twin 2in SUs would work better on a 202?

E30 head for sale
c'mon folks there's gotta be someone out there who needs a good head for their daily driver...?

triple SUs
i think alan's hit the nail on the head there... and i think the reason it works on other engines is due to the different firing orders. i understand exactly now. thanks for volunteering that info. but one thing i don't understand is how a cam can change the firing order of an engine...?!?!?! the firing order is pre-determined by the way the crankshaft swings , not by how long/ when the valves open and close. you would not only need to custom make a crankshaft, but get a dizzy to suit and a whole new camshaft to change the valve timing. then make it run harmoniously.

E30 head for sale
hehehe yeah that too, but i'm just giving a history of why i'm selling a perfectly good head. i hate dodgy people who "recon" a head, but realise they've fncked it up so they try to sell it as being an "almost new head, just recond" etc etc when really the bloke's only just realised that the reason it still smokes is coz he re-used the old valve stem seals or some sh1t like that. i just wanted to assure people that theres nothing dodgy about the head at all. my bottom end was almost dead, and the extra compression killed it entirely so i went 1UZFE.

triple SUs
hey guys thanks for the replies. i'm still getting used to this forum type so it's a bit of a mission getting info at the moment - but time will help i spose. i don't have any pics of my 240C - YET. it's copping a 1UZFE (sacrelige they say! burn him!) and i'm halfway thru my rack and pinion conversion to make it fit. they're all 35mm pics, so i'll have to scan them and post them up for you all. i cetainly don't see how triple webers can be great and triple SUs can't. so yeah, i think it is better :classic: plus the induction roar would be great!

triple SUs
hi all. i was just wondering why there was never a triple SU manifold cast for the L series...? i mean, you would think with the great results an L fourpot gets out of twin SUs, surely 2 more cylinders would equal one more SU...? it just bugs the hell outta me that holden get one for their tractor engines (161ci right thru to 202ci) and yet the almighty L series gets stuck with 2 just because that was the only manufacturer's option. i'm sorry, i just don't see the logic in it. alternatively, anyone out there making or know of a kit that uses triple SUs...?

E30 head for sale
hi all. newbie here. i'm selling an E30 casting (no, not E31 or E88) off my L24B. this is a small port, small valve, high CR head (9.4:1) off my 240C. great fuel economy and low down power - everything you need for a heavyweight sedan with a 4.11:1 diff ratio :classic: this head has 214klms on it since rebuilt and is a brand new casting (or so i'm told). i was having trouble with the valves seating so i had it rebuilt. the now extra compression destroyed my very fragile been-sitting-in-the-shed-for-ten-years rings and developed a massive case of blow by. this is the only reason i'm selling it. it comes with the cam as well, and is ready to bolt onto any L series sixpot. if you want the block as well - take it. it's free. i'm in WA too, and my price is $350. this head cost me $450 so i think that's a very fair price. cheers.
