  1. Wow, You guys have WAY too much time on your hands to discuss this "factory" thing this deep & long. Look, I and many other Z lovers only know one thing. The manufacturer, Nissan, ran this program. They bought these cars and they were restored to Nissan's standards, and if anyone had availability and money to do a beautiful restoration, who better than the original manufacturer. So who REALLY cares about the inference to whether or not they were actually done in Nissan's factory! I have only owned Datsun Z cars since I got my driver's license, (except for my 130,000 mile pickup) and just about all of my Zs got driven, and most of them had a little rust. I am very excited to own this Z, one which is as close to "factory" new as possible. Thank you Nissan for giving me confidence in a great value in this restored car. And once again, I really don't care about what these cars are worth. Datsun Z's are very special with a lot of people for many reasons, the biggest being these cars were the everyday man's sports car! So nobody get offended if you see a brand new looking 72 driving down the road with new panasports & yokahama rubber and a really nice radio, since the car doesn't even have the A/M radio. I did not buy this car to sit with it's hub caps in storage. It will get its 2000 miles a year for the next 40 years, & I hope with me behind the wheel! Thanks, Dave
  2. The Factory restored car which I just bought does have the metal factory restored plate under the shifter. It also has those round stickers in each of the rear quarter windows. The back tail piece is that greyish black color. Funny, I know this is the original color, but I think I like the look of the semi-shinny black tailpiece & how it contrasts with the lights better than the original greyish color. I guess I will leave the greyish color alone. The engine compartment is bright & shinny new. Like the rest of the car, it was all restored. I just noticed in a few pics that it has A/C. I don't know how I feel about that. I know my wife will love it. The A/C coil is in the passenger side under the dash. I am haveing the car freighted over to me, so when I get it in a few weeks I will post pics. Thanks, Dave.
  3. Original 69,000. Since the Nissan restoration, 4,900!
  4. I just bought a factory restored 72 240Z. It is red and black int. Does anyone know any interresting info on these factory restored cars? Post any thoughts or info on what I believe is about 40 of these cars which were built. I will post some pics in a few weeks. undefined
  5. I am an avid Datsun fan, owning 7 of them over the last 15 years. I am currently collecting parts to build my dream Z. I have everything from a custom made Race Prep turbo tec III 400+ HP turbo engine to springs, sway bars, tranny & much more. I grew up as a teen with 240's in our garage. Headers, springs, flares and jetting triple carbs. I was not into 100% original hubcap 240's. I love them & would keep one stock if I had the extra garage space. I, like all true Datsun Z fans, love a stock Z, but I If I can only own one Z car, then I need speed & performance in this modern day & age. However, hear lies the problem. I only have one garage. Which car do I choose to bless with new power & life? My 1970 240Z which is really clean, white exterior & blue interior, or my 1972 240Z which is metallic green with tan interior. There is something special about hearing "1970 240Z", with those rear hatch vents and side emblems which say "240 Z". But then I really love having those handy storage bins on the rear deck behind the seats in the '72! What year do I do my Z car? When you invest HUGE $$$ in building your dream Z car, you only want to do it once & have no regrets!!! Whichever car I do not modify, I have to sell!! I have been thinking for months! Let's hear your opinions!! Do a sweet 1970 or 1972 Z????? Help! It sounds like everyone wants me to keep the 1970 stock. Keep your eyes open on ebay for my 1970 240Z HLS #3001 White 8-9 out of 10 car!!! 94K :stupid:
  6. I am in Oceanport, which is minutes from the shore and Red Bank. I have a 1.5 yr old & a 7 week old, & just moved into a home, so my Z time this year is a little short. However, I have only owned 1st gen. Z's my entire life exept for my pick up truck, so I will be around for many more years to get together. Any good Z get togethers, let me know, & I'll meet you with one of my 70 Zs. I'm working on a 450 HP turbo super clean low milage 1970 240 Z. I'm having the engine built in CA. I'll start a gallery so you can see the progress. Take care, Dave
  7. My 1970 is an 8.5 out of 10. High quality paint and no rust & 95,000 miles, just a few dings from road impact. I am looking for a next to perfect 70 to upgrade to & keep for the next 30 years! I am a true Z lover! Now is the time to upgrade.
  8. I am in New Jersey. I don't mind shipping a car to me from anywhere in the country. Price is flexible. We will see what the market bears. I currently own a 1970 240Z all original in beautiful white. The vehicle however has a few nicks and dings in the pans and rails. So, I will sell mine once I purchase a replacement.
  9. I am looking for a 1970 240Z in Good to great condition. No cracks in dash. No rust in floor boards or frame rails. Low milage wanted. I realize this will not be an inexpensive vehicle. Please keep a look out for me.
