Fix for Slow Wipers
it wasnt working properly when we got it but the aesthetics of the car didnt mean much to the previouse owner only the go-fast bits. what doesnt make sense is that the wiper blade swings the whole length and occasionaly stops at the bottom with a bit of patience but that it normally reaches the bottom and then climbs back up before stopping. considering the motor is going to be out anyway when i freshenit up i'll have a look at it then. cheers, Tom.

Fix for Slow Wipers
my wipers are slow and i will try re-lubing everything but does anyone know how to get them to stop down the bottom? mine keep stopping about 10inches from the bottom of the stroke and they get really damn annoying. Tom.

Got my Zed back!!! :)
yeah its on the road. wheels went in to the powder coaters not an hour ago and then its in for some wheels and then ANOTHER hot dog muffler and that should be enough for a while. definately try to make the meet next yeat, tried to get to the one just past but was at meelup with my dad, the davies and somebody or other with the purple/blue 2+2 with the chev v8 were there to. dragon, it didnt viabrate on the highway as such, more that it was occuring at about 4000RPM up, it just got worse further up the range. and as for the balancer i have absolutely no idea, the previouse owner put it on not long before we bought it, but according to the people at SST it is one of the options available for fixing it. Tom.

Got my Zed back!!! :)
well its been 4 weeks (with a quote of 1) and i havnt even seen my car but the good news is that i got it back on tuesday :) its been in at SST Automotives because of some vibration from the engine (L28). turns out that this guy used to specialise in zeds until very recently (has now expanded his operation to facilitate all nissan/datsuns) and he reckons that these engines are very rough. so maybe it didnt need to go in, but it hadnt been balanced since the new harmonic balancer was put on..... so what the hell, might aswell. Thank christ that we did!!!! this car has a history of throwing balancers + flywheels (previous owner was to stingy to do it right the first time and car threw a flywheel, then didnt balance it, threw a balancer, reconditoned it instead of buying a new one, then did the balncer again, bought a bmw solid gold one) and in the mean time it turns out that the flywheel has loosed itself  so its time to set things right and make sure this doesnt occur again. To cut a long story short we (dad and i) had allready decided to get the bottom balanced to make sure it wouldnt happen again since now it has a brand new balancer (solid gold bmw balancer) and now a new skyline gtr flywheel. got it back on tuesday and the car is a LOT nicer to drive. it was also nice to learn that the internals of the car are in brand new condition and no unusual wear or tear. in any case we did decide to change all rings, bearings, and gaskets so its almost a brand new engine and still in run in stage with a 4000 rpm cap (a reasonable limit for a rebiult motor run in), but its so nice to have it back!!! when we finish break in its in again for a dyno tune that should sort out the flat spot in the carbies and then its back to fun time!!!! Cant wait till next year, theres going to be 5 zed drivers (including me and the old man) around the scene competing against each other in the local ENJO Sprint Series So it looks like its all smooth sailing from here on in, which is very graciously accepted after this episode considering we have only had it for about 3 months. Tom.

Took my Z drifting the other day...again
i went and asked dad and he thinks it isnt a patrol diff, but i certainly remember the previouse owner said it was some kind of 4x4 diff because it has the 4.4 (actually 4.375) ratio rather than a 4.1. Tom.
-
here's my new ride...
I think the roof line looks a bit out of proporsion. my dads toyota supra is a 2+2 and i tell you they should call it a 2+1, cause there aint much room in the back!! there really just fake back seats, enough to convince the wife you dont need to sell the car if you have a kid. (not speaking from experiance (i shouldnt i'm only 16!!!) but from what people have told me). Tom.

Sun/targa roof possible?
if you check out his website (some one posted it allready) you should be able to keep up to date there, and ill let you know aswell. Tom.

Sun/targa roof possible?
yeah it is hard. it was going to be fully sequential, but it got to hard so now they are trying something else that effectively works the same way as a sequential system, just that its not quite the same sort of setup. should be absolutely fabulous when its finished. if (i should say when) they pull it off they are planning to sell it, because no one else at the moment has anything like it around, andit should be HUGE power and VERRY LITTLE lag. Tom.
-
Sun/targa roof possible?
yeah datto i know the one. but this is a completely differant system. it runs a small 350hp turbo and a big 600+ hp turbo, rather than one big single turbo. there was one at the bottom of the hills. an na wide body 7 coulour one. he had a huge 1000HP motor on the way, but just the other day had some fool careen intio the side of him. estimates of damage are HUGE, but its not a write off. Tom.

Sun/targa roof possible?
thats jason right?! its actually 5 coulours. well its a sweet ride cept that its only running on one turbo at the moment (he's designing a sequentiol (spelling?!) system) and he just had it defected :tapemouth Its an awesome car though, and should be even better when its finished. Tom.
