cold start problem
what I meant to say is I had the flat tops to start with and thought that was the problem so THEN I had the dual webbers installed, car runs much better but still the same problem if the car sits for more than 5 days.

cold start problem
I have a 260Z with dual webbers with the same exact problem. I had Z Car Source of Arizona work on my car (they do great work by the way) HOWEVER they were unable to fix this problem. I will quote from Jeff from ZSource who told me "The car still has the hard start issue. Part of this is due to the wiring circuit for the electric fuel pump at the fuel tank. The circuit is designed to keep the fuel pump off when starting the car and on when running. This design does not help when trying to deliver fuel to the carbs." I haven't been able to find a solution for this, my car will start ok after sitting for up to 5 days and then after that I have to give a shot of starter fluid to the carbs.

AZ Z Stuff
I too live in Gilbert (although I'm in Iraq at this moment) I highly recommend Z Car Source of Arizona, their in Scottsdale. They worked on my 260Z and did a great job, since I was not in Az when I wanted the car worked on they picked it up and delivered it. Also they sent very detailed emails and kept me abreast of everything that was going on with the car.

Introduce yourself to the class?
Guess I'll jump in on this thead its quickly turning into a novel. I'm 56 years old, live in the Phoenix area (Gilbert) I have a 74 260Z with 28,000 original miles on it. It is exactly like the one I bought new in 74 only I paid more for this one. The only bad thing is that it is just sitting because I'm working in beautiful Bagdad, Iraq at the moment (yes its just as wonderful as u see on TV) but in May I'll be back and then planning a three week trip in the Z.

Correct Gear Shift Knob

Correct Gear Shift Knob
I will get you the VIN and post it in a couple of days. I'm in Baghdad and the company I work for wouldn't let me bring it! go figure. However my steering wheel is not the 240z type. I had a new 260Z in 74 but I think it was a later one because it had the same as what you posted. thanks

Correct Gear Shift Knob
I have an early 260Z, it has the wooden 240z type gear shift. Does anyone know if this is correct for my vehicle? I know the later 260's have the black leather looking knobs. It is the 4 speed. thanks Brant
