Brake proportioning valve
what 240zx said. in my case, i have the following setup: front: 15/16 MC toyota s12w 4 piston vented rotors rear MML swap: 240sx calipers 300zx rotors I have a wilwood prop valve that I plan to use in line with the rear brakes. What I did is remove the stock prop valve (valves if you have a 73/74), get a T brake line splitter from a 280zx (it's in the front on the driver's shock tower) and run a direct line from the MC to the splitter, and directly to the front brakes. Then install the wilwood prop valve inline for the rear brakes. Voila!

I'm sorry... which one has the dinosaur engine? Overhead cam design that was used by ford back in 1920s? Or the pushrod design from 1940s? Oh well, I suppose I should play this game too:

Anyone interested in VOLK wheels for a Z?
I don't know the exact weight, I was ballparking it by lifting it with my hands, so don't quote me. But then again, it's still less than half price of real volks, so you do get what you pay for, hence why they're knock offs. that, and getting volks in 16x8 in 114.3x4 is probably not an easy task.

ok, not real volk wheels, but pretty damn close knock off. read details here: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=102801

'71 240 upgrade to 4 piston calipers????
I have the same setup as MM kit. S12W calipers, 300zx vented rotors, 1/2" spacers. I bought it from www.outlaw-brakes.com, but it looks like they no longer manufacture Z parts. I paid 450 for the kit with rebuilt calipers, 300zx rotors, spacers, bolts, +60 bucks for earl's SS braided lines (4 of them) from MSA. For what it's worth, you can do a quick add up on the parts separately: -remanufactured '88 toyota 4runner s12w calipers from napa - $80 each, 160 total (if you can turn your old calipers in for a core charge, you'd get about 40 bucks back) -cheapie napa '84 300zx NA vented rotor - 45 each, 90 total -machined spacers (40mm thick, I think?) I'll have to measure them on my car, probably 100 bucks for the pair? -bolts for the spacers, 6 bucks -decent front brake pads, semi metallic. 50 bucks so you're looking at roughly 400 bucks for the vented conversion. The MSA conversion for 380 bucks is a rip off. You can piece that set yourself for 200 bucks at most, not counting braided steel brake lines. And that doesn't even include front rotors. New rotors are about 65 bucks from napa, 130 for the pair. STILL cheaper than the MSA kit, Here's what the vented setup looks like: I'd also advise to get a 15/16 master cylinder from a 280 for the bigger pistons

4 x 108
we do, but no one will admit to owning them Also, the capris we have in the states, are you talking about the convertable fwd pieces of poo, or the ford mustang (falcon for you?) clone that's rwd? Those were 4x4.5"

Need tire info please
you want 225/50/16 tires. That will be the best and easiest available setup to you. you may find your wheels a bit hard to turn with that much meat, but it'll be better in the long run.

4 x 108
or you can take them to a machine shop to have the holes redrilled for 4x114.3 bolt pattern

hybridz.org the pickle fork method is suggested if you need to replace the balljoints anyway.

Wrong Mechanical Gauges?
I think the problem is that he got the 2 1/16" gauges instead of 2 5/8", hence why they look so small I wish I had seen the zhome autometer article earlier, because I made my own brackets and used stock autometer stuff
-
Ball Joint Puller help
you're going to replace the balljoint anyway, right? get a $10 pickle fork from pepboys/autozone/etc, and pound away with the hammer to separate. an easier method might be to flip that assembly upside down, wedge it between the vice so the knuckle is on top of the vice, and BJ below the gripping surface. smack threaded portion with hammer.

Konig Rewinds
well, 16x8 konigs don't exist, so it'd be difficult to find pictures of them online. See pics above, and enlarge diameter by 1"

Konig Rewinds
along the same lines, is anyone interested in a group buy for 16x8s? http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=101587 No price listed yet, but apparently if 30 sets are preordered, konig can make the rewinds in 16x8, which would be very awesome. the 15x7" wheels are 13.3lbs each, which is pretty good, and they look great (for konig, anyway). Anyone interested in 16x8 wheels like that?

Solid Axel Conversions
hybridz.org, actually. there's an alternative = use an r230 from a 300zx/tt or infiniti q45. it's a 9" limited slip diff with IRS. There are guys who have already created mount kits and adapter plates. Your other alternative is to section the rear and convert it to a ford 9". You'll have to shorten the splines, obviously
