Fujitsubo Twin System
It is coming from Japan = cost a fair bit. I believe this is simular to the dual system offer by Nissan as an option in Japan back in the 70's. I am sure with the right contact you could get one also - best thing to do is find a Japanese performance/import shop that has contacts in Japan and talk to them and see if they can order the bits you are after (we might be lucky here in NZ as we get a lot of JDM cars so therefore a lot of the aftermarket suppliers also do business in this part of the world). And most of all have an understanding partner and save like 40 b~$%ards.

Fujitsubo Twin System
Hi, Just wanting to know if anyone has a sound file of the full Fujitsubo dual/twin system on a Zed or any other L6 power car aka C10/C110 (Jim aka g72s20 recorded yours yet?). I have made the big decision and ordered the Stainless headers 6-2 and the complete twin system from Fujitsubo so I would like to know what it might sound like (will take 2 months as they have to make it, non stock items) Cheers Mike

After Market Seats - Recaro's
Here in NZ we have to go through the same Cert process if you modify the seat mounts etc. However I am not 100% sure if we have to if you use the original mounts on the body work (ie if you make a adapter plate from the seats mounts to the original rails and use the recommended grade bolts etc). I think you are doing the right thing by asking others (I assume you are looking for answers from the Oz members) who have done the same. Good luck....and nice seats by the way

Upgrading L24 head for L28 block....
I have been told that a good head to use is the 260c (Cedric) E88 head (sound like the one you have already) these have the smaller valves (like yours) and a very good shape and the smaller cc. You just install the L28 valve etc and your in business. I am only going by what I have been told so this is second hand and I have never seen a 260c E88 to compare to my 240z and 260z E88's that I have.

Dad's S31 Pic#1
S31 = Factory Fairlady Z with L20e JDM. A bit like the C110 and C111. I think the 0 to 1 ids the fact it is an EFI model.

Early Z
I will try and answer some of these questions. JDM Fairlady Z VIN S30 (no 240 anywhere in the name of these cars - some call them 200z as they were fitted with L20a engines with carbs) JDM Fairlady 240Z VIN HS30 (fitted with L24 engines) JDM Fairlady Z VIN S31 (same body/tail lights dash as RS30=Export RHD 260Z but fitted with L20e EFI engine, my Dad has one of these) There were S30-S and S30-L for the trim level and different standard options and as you have stated these were not on the firewall. There was also the HS30-H the factory JDM Fairlady 240Z with G-Nose and overfenders. These Z were badges "Fairlady 240z" and are referred to as the 240ZG. Then there is the PS30 the 432. I am sure someone else can let you know what the VIN is for a 432R as I would be guessing so I won't even try as I might get it wrong and add to the confussion. Also all of the JDM were badged and sold as Nissan not Datsun as Datsun was the name use in the export markets. I recall in the 80's ads on TV promoting Nissan/Datsun then about 1 year later no more Datsun. I hope this helps a bit. PS I have never heard of the -A or AU either must be a US market thing.

1970 Fairlady Z on ebay
Sorry if this is slight hi-jack. I just this weekend picked up a S31 for my Dad. This is a S31-S by the look as its trim is as HS30-H and others have stated. It has no clock just a blanking cover, no rear window de-mister/heater element. It has a factory L20e engine and 5 speed which appear to be the close gear set (by the lack of rev change between gears). It is a bit rough but I guess you expect that for a 25+ year old car. I have no idea on the year it was manufactured as the car was imported into NZ in 1988 and the papers state 1979 (I thought Nissan stop making them in 78). But going by the chassis number S31-005360 I would say it is a 76 or very late 75. I can't say anything about the bumpers as this car is fitted with a G-Nose 5 piece replica and someone at some point changed the rear bumper (and incorrectly fitted a 2+2 bumper which does not fit very well at all). But I have found/purchased a correct rear bumper (that is one with no rubber or holes - but painted black)

GTX coupe tail lights and rear panel for sale
Not a problem - pleased it was all sorted out in the end as Bruce and Michael know I don't own a 240K so just pleased to see them go to a good home (still can't believe Mario did what he did). Having seen your cars Bruce (currently in Melbourne on Business) wow they are some finds the Yellow one is mint and the blue is just as good (apart from the SS bits missing on the front). I bet you can't wait until you are finished in Sydney and get back to VIC to work on them and get out on that bike of yours also. Just a question for the 240K boys - all the SS on the front and rears of these cars I assume this stuff always get damaged ie shopping trolley etc so I guess this stuff is hard to get these days.

ZG front lip and headlight covers
Looks like there could be a market for ZG light covers - way doesn't someone make replica one? I am going to take my NOS Nissan ones to a sheet metalworker to see if he can make a copy of the stainless steel bands, I will run these copies on the car (keeping the originals in a save place). I will let you know how I make out (I hope this does not break any copyright etc) the plastic should be easily replicated.

1973 Skyline GT-R Replica
all the photos of your car look excellent Lachlan - nice job on the GT-R replica, just need to find that S20 engine and you'll have the best GT-R rep outside of Japan (if it is not already)

ZG front lip and headlight covers
I have recently got a G-Nose for my Zed. It was on a 2+2 and I did a swap/deal with the owner who did not like the look that much. I got new Nissan headlight covers from Japan NOS. The cost an arm and a leg but I was told but the Japanese man that ordered for me that there were only 5 NOS left in Japan. Here is what I surgest you do (this is what I did). I found a local performance car shop that is owned by an ex-nissan mechanic (Japanese) and had him contact the suppliers in Japan etc. I guess it cost me more as he would have added a commission but I got the parts which was more than what I got trying to email the suppliers (never heard back from any of them). He also help me get a some other goodies for my Zed. http://home.att.ne.jp/sky/FairladyZ/index.htm Good luck - also the 5 piece kits in the link above a very very good quality (as close to the real thing or better). I believe these are what the guys who have original ZG get replacement parts from should they damage theirs.

Prepping the Shell for Media Blasting
I agree with Enrique - my brother has a business here in New Zealand doing just what this topic is about - media blasting. He always recommends to his customers to paint in epoxy primer (he usually does this for them - some customers don't want it done so he will paint whatever primer they supply - he does not and very rarely lets blasted metal leave his shop in bare steel - usually because he does not what to argue a quote he once told me "what do I know I am only a panel beater and have been stripping and blasting cars for 15 years. But this customer who is a businessman know better than me so whatever. I wont do any more work for that idiot") One thing that my brother will do for customers is take photos before blasting, after blasting and then on with the primer. I know he has even had to had to call a customer to come a look at the car and make the decision to continue or cut their loses and find another body shell (very rusty + bog and poor smash repairs etc) So like others above have stated - get it premiered ASAP, keep it in a dry environment etc. Cheers

Save S30-0002
different market different specs again. I once owned HS30-00016 (young and looking to buy my first house so the rusty 70's customized Zed went down the road - should have kept it I know). This car still had the plug leads with 1970 stamped on them (yes they did not work too well over 5000rpm). Anyway it was fitted with a 5 spd from the factory and as I believe the LHD US spec cars did not get a 5spd until much later. However most of the early 240z I have seen here in NZ are all 5spd even the 1970 ones like my old HS30-00016 (the 5 spd was an A box - the kind that has the bolt up at the rear of the gearbox and then a spline in the drive shaft). So it could be true that the S30-00002 was indeed an auto remember this is a S30 not a HS30 or HLS30 so different spec are expected.
